Monitoreo de labores de agricultura y vivero en cultivo de banano (Musa AAA Simmons) en la empresa Agrícola Sara Palma S.A en la región de Urabá.
El cultivo de banano es uno de los productos más importantes en la economía agrícola, puesto que, según la Fao en 2018 este cultivo es responsable del desarrollo económico y social de las principales zonas bananeras, también indicó que dicho cultivo ocupa el tercer lugar en productos exportables a nivel nacional.
El desarrollo de la práctica profesional se llevó a cabo en la empresa Agrícola Sara Palma S.A, dedicada a la producción del Banano ( Musa AAA Simmons) en el cual se realiza diferentes tipos de labores, entre ellas las que ayudan a potencializar el cultivo, así como también la propagación meristemática, en el presente informe se detallarán dichas actividades que favorecen al cultivo, a mejorar el vigor y especialmente en la productividad, obteniendo como finalidad una plantación en óptimas condiciones con el fin de aumentar la cantidad de racimos por planta en el año
Optimización de tiempo y mejora de visualización en el diseño de informes mensuales realizados por la gerencia técnica de Ecopetrol S.A. En la refinería de Barrancabermeja
El siguiente documento se hizo referencia a las actividades que se realizaron durante la práctica empresarial en Ecopetrol S.A., la cual se realizó durante un periodo de 6 meses, iniciando el 14 de Julio del año 2021 y finalizando el 13 de enero del año 2022. Se cumplió como objeto de auxiliar en ingeniería en el equipo de excelencia operacional, en el cual fui instruido por la ingeniera María Helena Profesional senior en Gestión. Se ejecutaron actividades de cálculo a indicadores como índice de personal con metodología Solomon; actividades de seguimiento a indicadores de costos de producción y mantenimiento (OPEX), Costo de desarrollo del sistema (CAPEX). En este documento se detalla a profundidad cada mejora implementada, resaltando la metodología con la cual se llevó a cabo.The following document made reference to the activities that were carried out during the business practice in Ecopetrol S.A., which was conducted during a period of 6 months, starting on July 14, 2021 and ending on January 13, 2022. The core fungal microbiome of banana (Musa spp.)
Here, we report a metabarcoding (ITS2) study to define the common core fungal microbiome (mycobiome) of healthy Musa spp. (bananas and plantains). To identify a list of 21 core fungal taxa, we first characterised the effects of edaphic conditions and host genotype – two factors that are likely to differ between farms – on the diversity of fungal communities in bulk soil and seven plant compartments. This experiment facilitated shortlisting of core ‘candidates’, which were then elevated to full core status if also found to frequent a wide-range of field-grown Musa spp. and exhibit hub-like characteristics in network analyses. Subsequently, we conducted a meta-analysis of eleven publicly available datasets of Musa spp. associated fungi demonstrating that the core fungi identified in our study have close relatives in other countries. The diversity and composition of mycobiomes differed between plant compartments and soils, but not genotypes. The core mycobiome included Fusarium oxysporum and its relatives, which dominated all plant compartments, as well as members of the Sordariomycetes, Dothideomycetes, and Mortierellomycota. Our study provides a robust list of common core fungal taxa for Musa spp. Further studies may consider how changes in the frequencies and activities of these taxa influence host fitness and whether they can be managed to improve banana production
Estudo da atividade biológica de Baccharis articulata, Musa x paradisiaca e rutina na homeostasia da glicose em modelos experimentais in vivo e in vitro

Programa de Pós-Graduação em FarmáciaA insulina é o principal hormônio anabólico responsável pelo controle da captação, utilização e armazenamento dos nutrientes celulares como carboidratos, proteínas e lipídios, sendo essencial para a manutenção da homeostasia da glicose, o crescimento e diferenciação celular. Defeitos na ação e/ou na secreção de insulina podem levar à hiperglicemia, característica da diabetes melito. A diabetes melito é uma patologia complexa e multifatorial de elevada morbidade e mortalidade e, por esse motivo, é considerada uma epidemia, caracterizando um problema de saúde pública mundial. Muitas plantas são conhecidas na medicina popular de diferentes culturas pelas propriedades hipoglicemiantes e tem um uso crescente no tratamento da diabetes. Os compostos fenólicos derivados de plantas, especialmente os flavonóides, apresentam diversas propriedades e tem um potencial terapêutico muito investigado. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar o efeito de extratos e frações de Bacharis articulata (carqueja) e de Musa x paradisiaca (banana), assim como do flavonóide rutina, na homeostasia da glicose em modelos experimentais in vivo e in vitro. As duas espécies foram avaliadas quanto às atividades anti-hiperglicêmica e/ou hipoglicemiante na curva de tolerância à glicose e em modelos de diabetes induzidos experimentalmente, como a secreção de insulina, o conteúdo de glicogênio hepático e muscular, a inibição das enzimas ?-glicosidases e a propriedade anti-glicação, assim como o conteúdo de flavonóides. Além disso, foi estudado o mecanismo de ação da rutina na captação de glicose e de cálcio em músculo sóleo, e também a secreção de insulina in vivo e o mecanismo de ação da rutina na captação de cálcio em ilhotas pancreáticas isoladas. Para tanto, foram utilizados ratos Wistar machos entre 50-55 dias de idade. Para a realização da curva de tolerância à glicose as coletas de sangue, para determinação da glicose e insulina sérica, foram realizadas nos tempos zero, 15, 30, 60, 120 e 180 minutos. Nos ensaios para a determinação do conteúdo de glicogênio os tecidos foram retirados dos animais 3 h após os tratamentos. As atividades das dissacaridases intestinais e a propriedade anti-glicação foram realizadas in vitro. A captação de 14C-glicose e de 45-cálcio (45Ca2+) foi estudada após a incubação do músculo sóleo com a rutina. As ilhotas pancreáticas foram isoladas e incubadas com 45Ca2+ e rutina, na presença ou não de diferentes inibidores e ativadores. Os extratos brutos, as frações n-butanol e residual aquosa de B. articulata e de M. x paradisiaca reduziram significativamente a glicemia de ratos normais hiperglicêmicos e potencializaram a secreção de insulina induzida por glicose. Além disso, observou-se um aumento no conteúdo de glicogênio no músculo sóleo e fígado após os tratamentos, principalmente com as frações n-butanol das duas espécies vegetais. Os extratos e as frações reduziram a atividade da maltase e preveniram a glicação. A rutina estimulou a captação de glicose e cálcio no músculo, estimulando a captação de glicose através da ativação de uma via insulinomimética e uma via independente da sinalização clássica da insulina. Além disso, a rutina estimulou a secreção de insulina in vivo e a captação de cálcio em ilhotas pancreática isoladas, atuando como um potencial agente secretagogo de insulina. Desta forma, apoiado nos resultados obtidos neste trabalho, propõe-se que as espécies vegetais, Baccharis articulata e Musa x paradisiaca, e o flavonóide rutina aqui estudados possam regular a homeostasia da glicose. Os mecanismos envolvem a inibição da enzima que permite a absorção intestinal da glicose, a inibição da glicação, o estímulo da secreção de insulina e o aumento na utilização de glicose pelos tecidos periféricos, evidenciando que estas duas espécies e a rutina podem atuar por múltiplos mecanismos de ação para regular a homeostasia da glicose e colaborar na prevenção das complicações da diabetes.Insulin is the main anabolic hormone responsible for controlling the uptake, use and storage of cellular nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins and lipids. It is essential for the maintenance of glucose homeostasis, growth and cellular differentiation. Defects in action and / or secretion of insulin may lead to hyperglycemia, which characterizes diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a complex and multifactorial disease with high morbidity and mortality, therefore is considered epidemic causing a public health problem worldwide. Many plants are known in folk medicine of different cultures for their hypoglycemic properties showing an increasing use in the treatment of diabetes. The plant-derived phenolic compounds, especially flavonoids, have several properties and their therapeutic potential has been investigated. The aim of this study was to characterize the effect of extracts and fractions of Baccharis articulata ("carqueja") and Musa x paradisiaca ("banana"), as well as the flavonoid rutin, in glucose homeostasis using in vivo and in vitro experimental models. Antihyperglycemic and / or hypoglycemic activity in the curve of glucose tolerance and in models of experimentally induced diabetes, insulin secretion, the hepatic glycogen content and muscle, inhibition of the enzymes á-glucosidases and anti-glycation property were investigated, as well as the content of flavonoids. In addition, was also studied the mechanism of action of rutin in glucose and calcium uptake in soleus muscle, and also the in vivo insulin secretion and the mechanism of action of rutin on calcium uptake in rat isolated pancreatic islets. For in vivo experiments, Wistar male rats with 50-55 days of age were used. To glycemia and serum insulin determination blood samples were collected at zero, 15, 30, 60, 120 and 180 min in glucose tolerance curve. Tissues were removed from animals 3 h after oral administration of treatments to determine glycogen contents. The intestinal disaccharidases activities and anti-glycation property were performed in vitro. The glucose and calcium uptake was studied after incubation of the soleus muscle with rutin, in the presence or not of different inhibitors and of 14C-glucose or calcium (45Ca2+). The pancreatic islets were isolated and incubated with 45Ca2+ and rutin in the presence or absence of various inhibitors or activators. The crude extracts and n-butanol and residual aqueous fractions of B. articulata and of M. x paradisiaca showed potential anti-hyperglycemic activity in hyperglycemic normal rats and potentiated glucose-induced insulin secretion. Additionaly, it was observed an increase on glycogen content in muscle and liver after treatments, mainly with the n-butanol fractions of two species. The extracts and fractions reduced the activity of maltase and prevented glycation. Also, rutin stimulated glucose and calcium uptake in soleus muscle, stimulating glucose uptake via activation of an insulin-mimetic and an insulin-independent signaling pathways. Additionally, rutin stimulated insulin secretion in vivo and calcium uptake in isolated pancreatic islets, as a potential insulin secretagogue agent. Thus, these results suggest that Baccharis articulata, M. x paradisiaca and rutin are able to regulate glucose homeostasis. The mechanisms involve the inhibition of the enzyme that allows the intestinal absorption of glucose, the inhibition of glycation, the stimulation of insulin secretion and increase in glucose utilization by peripheral tissues showed that these plant species and rutin may act by multiple mechanisms of action to regulate glucose homeostasis, thereby contributing to the prevention of diabetes-related complications
Informe final de servicios realizados en la plantación de banano (Musa × paradisiaca) en finca “El Zambo” Bonafe S.A., San Francisco Zapotitlán, Suchitepéquez.
RESUMEN
A continuación se presenta el informe final de los servicios realizados en finca Agrícola “El Zambo” BONAFE S.A., ubicada a 169 kilómetros de la ciudad capital de Guatemala en el municipio de San Francisco Zapotitlán del departamento de Suchitepéquez, en la cual se realizó la Práctica Profesional Supervisada (P.P.S.) de agosto a octubre de 2,016.
Finca Agrícola “El Zambo” BONAFE S.A. se ubica en las coordenadas 14°36´11” latitud norte 91°31´,6” longitud oeste. Cuenta con 109 hectáreas en las cuales se encuentran establecidos los siguientes cultivos: 84 hectáreas establecidas por Banano mini (Musa acuminata) de exportación asociado con cultivo de café (Coffea arabica) y las 25 hectáreas restantes se encuentran establecidas por el cultivo de banano (Musa × paradisiaca) en los cuales se basa la producción agrícola e ingresos económicos para la unidad productiva.
Las actividades realizadas pretendieron ejecutar servicios que contribuyan al mejoramiento de la productividad del cultivo de banano (Musa × paradisiaca) variedades Williams y Galil-7, en finca Agrícola El Zambo, San Francisco, Suchitepéquez.
La actividades realizadas fueron: El monitoreo del efecto del fungicida foliar Tebuconazole (Folicur) sobre el control de sigatoka (Mycosphaerella fijiensis). La formulación de una alternativa para nivelar porcentajes deficientes de nutrientes en el suelo según análisis realizados. Ejecución de podas de saneamiento para contribuir al control de incidencia de sigatoka. (Mycosphaerella fijiensis), y la selección de hijos con ubicación adecuada en labor de deshije para mantener orden entre surcos y evitar competencia por nutrientes entre plantas.
• Durante la labor de deshije se establecieron los resultados deseados logrando las siguientes metas: Seleccionar generaciones futuras vigorosas, mantener el orden entre surcos y limpieza de malezas alrededor de las plantas.
• Se realizó la labor de deshoje manual. Esta labor fue llevada a cabo en tramo 3 en un área de 1.12 ha respectivamente eliminando hojas secas y hojas afectadas con sigatoka (Mycosphaerella fijiensis).
• Se inició la labor de resiembra sin embargo no se llevó a cabo inicialmente en tramo 3 debido a que existe desorden de establecimiento de variedades por toda la plantacion, por lo que se inició en tramo 10. Las labores no se realizaron conforme a recomendaciones establecidas
Dredging Processes I: The Cutting of Sand, Clay & Rock - Theory
This book gives an overview of cutting theories. It starts with a generic model, which is valid for all types of soil (sand, clay and rock) after which the specifics of dry sand, water saturated sand, clay, rock and hyperbaric rock are covered. For each soil type small blade angles and large blade angles, resulting in a wedge in front of the blade, are discussed. The failure mechanism of sand, dry and water saturated, is the so called Shear Type. The failure mechanism of clay is the so called Flow Type, but under certain circumstances also the Curling Type and the Tear Type are possible. Rock will usually fail in a brittle way. This can be brittle tensile failure, the Tear Type, for small blade angles, but it can also be brittle shear failure, which is of the Shear Type of failure mechanism for larger blade angles. Under hyperbaric conditions rock may also fail in a more ductile way according to the Flow Type of failure mechanism. For each case considered, the equations/model for the cutting forces, power and specific energy are given. Informe final de servicios realizados en el cultivo de café Coffea arabica en finca “La Conchita S.A.” San Francisco Zapotitlán, Suchitepéquez.
RESUMEN
El presente informe es una sistematización del trabajo realizado durante tres meses de Práctica Profesional Supervisada (P.P.S.), de la carrera de Agronomía Tropical del CUNSUROC, en finca “La Conchita S.A.”, que está ubicada en el municipio de San Francisco Zapotitlán, Suchitepéquez, la cual es productora de café Coffea arabica, Coffea canephora y banano Musa x paradisiaca.
Durante el proceso de diagnóstico de la Práctica Profesional Supervisada, realizado en finca “La Conchita S.A.”, se detectaron y jerarquizaron los problemas que pueden trascender durante el proceso productivo del cultivo de café Coffea arabica, motivo por el cual se propusieron servicios y/o actividades para dar solución a tales problemas.
Como parte de los servicios, se realizó un mapa de las áreas en producción de finca “La Conchita S.A.” y se determinó que actualmente hay 27.9 hectáreas de Coffea canephora como monocultivo y 26.6 hectáreas de Coffea arabica en asocio con Musa x paradisiaca.
También se realizó manejo de tejido (deshije), a 80 plantas en producción de café
Coffea arabica, en lote “El Manacal” y se terminó que el 90% no presentó rebrotes.
Así como también el establecimiento de 150 plantas del cultivo de café Coffea arabica, en lote “Pepsi Cola” obteniéndose un 96% de plantas vivas (pegue).
Además se realizó una capacitación técnica al personal de finca “La Conchita S.A.” sobre el uso y manejo adecuado de herbicidas
Complimentary Narrative Commentaries of Statutory Accounts in the Annual Reports of UK Listed Companies
This paper, for the first time, classifies narrative information into complementary and supplementary. For the purpose of the paper, complementary narrative information is defined as that information which refers to specific numbers presented in the statutory accounts (profit and loss and balance sheet). Non-specific narrative information is classified as supplementary. Having made the distinction and provided reasons for such a distinction the study investigates the extent of complementary narrative commentaries on numbers from the statutory accounts. The study also investigates which company-specific characteristics are associated with the extent of complementary narrative commentaries. An index consisting of 46 items which must be reported in the statutory accounts was used to measure the extent of complementary narrative commentaries in the annual reports of 170 listed UK companies. the findings suggest that, on average, the companies comment on 3909% of the numbers appearing in their statutory accounts. using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression model, the results indicate that company size, gearing, profitability, liquidity ratio, the presence of exceptional items, and substantial institutional investment are significantly associated with the extent of complementary narrative commentaries. However, auditory type, directors' share ownership, and the proportion of non-executive directors are not significantly associated with the extent of complementary narrative commentaries. The research has important implications for accounting regulators, users of annual reports and future research into the usefulness narrative information provided in annual reports
