CHANGE IN CITY CORRIDOR INTO COMMERCIAL AND HOME INDUSTRY DISTRICT
Get PDFAbstract— The presence of street vendors (vendors) in
Jalan Barito for over 20 years proves that the informal
sector was able to survive and is one of the most effective
way of reducing unemployment in the city of Semarang and
surrounding areas. From a survey conducted by the Office
of Semarang City Market in collaboration with the
University of Semarang, found that the increased status of
street vendors used to be a special area (typical) street
vendors, will be promoting business in this sector.
The presence of more and more traders on the street Barito,
giving a negative impact on the environment such as visual
degradation environment, clutter, and discomfort for Barito
road users.
Vehicle circulation and car parking arrangements which
disrupt the smooth flow of traffic through the road Barito, a
function of path-breaking Barito traffic flow can not
function properly.
The majority of traders in Barito area has the status of
permanent buildings. This is preferred for reasons of
practicality in the trade. Function River Flood Canal levee
East as a drag stream of water disturbed by the presence of
a permanent bengunan erode the dike body.
The need for clarity of the status of street vendors in Jalan
Barito, one of them by changing its name to Regions
Barito. This is because the definition of Barito vendors on
the street can not apply again. The influence of this change
are felt in the regulations concerning the building for the
street vendors. Thus there is need for a new regional
regulations to regulate this area in particular.
Need for physical rearrangement of existing areas. It takes a
broader space for the circulation that took place in this
region remained smooth and regular.
The desire to keep the majority of traders who occupy
permanent buildings should be considered to continue to
see its position on the East River Flood Canal

Berawal ketika Pemerintah Kota Semarang
memindahkan beberapa Pedagang Kaki Lima dari kawasan
Stasiun Tawang, jalan Sendowo, dan jalan Kartini pada
awal dekade 80-an. Beberapa PKL tersebut dipindahkan ke
tempat yang dianggap tidak terlalu mengganggu lalu lintas
kendaraan. Maka dipilihlah Jalan Barito sebagai tempat
perpindahan tersebut. Saat itu jalan Barito masih berupa
jalan kampung yang belum diaspal dan tidak begitu banyak
kendaraan yang lewat di jalan tersebut. Namun seiring
dengan perkembangan pembangunan di kota Semarang,
maka Pedagang Kaki Lima yang ada semakin bertambah
banyak. Apalagi setelah jalan Barito diaspal dan menjadi
jalan alternatif (jalan kolektor sekunder) yang
menghubungkan jalan Brigjend Katamso dengan jalan
Kaligawe.
Hingga sampai saat ini perkembangan itu telah
menjadikan jalan Barito sebagai ikon bagi kota Semarang
sebagai kawasan perdagangan suku cadang otomotif dan
barang hasil industri kecil untuk rumah tangga. Menurut
data survei dari Dinas pasar Kota Semarang, diperoleh
angka transaksi dari tiap pedagang yang cukup besar,
pendapatan per hari pedagang di Kawasan ini bisa
mencapai lebih dari Rp. 1.000.000,00. dari jumlah tersebut,
pedagang mendapatkan keuntungan sebesar 10%. Dengan
jumlah pedagang yang tercatat hingga tahun 2007 mencapai
776 pedagang, maka jumlah peredaran uang yang terjadi di
kawasan Barito tidak bisa dianggap remeh.
Dari perkembangan tersebut, ternyata kawasan Barito ini
menyimpan masalah yang cukup pelik, mulai dari
perubahan fungsi dan definisi pedagang yang
menempatinya, lalu munculnya masalah ketidaknyamanan
pengguna jalan Barito, penetapan tarif pajak dan retribusi
bagi pedagang, serta masalah keabsahan bangunan yang
terletak persis di tepi tanggul sungai Banjir Kanal Timur.
Gejala sosial lain yang timbul adalah masalah
kesemrawutan yang timbul akibat dari belum dilakukannya
penataan kawasan yang terencana dengan matang.
Penempatan lahan parkir yang berada tepat di tepi jalan,
bahkan sampai memakan badan jalan, menjadi masalah
utama bagi kelancaran arus lalu lintas yang ada di jalan
tersebut. Pembedaan antara lahan parkir dan tempat
perbaikan kendaraan pun tidak begitu jelas. Keduanya
diletakkan tepat di tepi jalan utama (jalan Barito).
Kendaraan yang parkir bisa juga merupakan kendaraan
yang sedang diperbaiki. Hal lain adalah penempatan barang
dagangan yang berdimensi cukup besar, seperti gardan
mobil, pipa-pipa besi, drum dan ban bekas. Keberadaan

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
