The conference was hosted by the Organization of American States (OAS), the Netter Center for Community Partnerships, and the Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. It brought together researchers, practitioners, and education representatives from across the region, as well as global partners, to share best practices and create a pathway to strengthen global cooperation. The central theme addressed was, ‘how can universities in the Americas advance the democratic mission of higher education with a particular focus on local community engagement? | Esta publicación es la continuación de una conferencia celebrada en febrero de 2022 con motivo del lanzamiento oficial de la Comunidad de Aprendizaje de Asociaciones y Líderes de Educación Superior de América Latina y el Caribe. La conferencia fue organizada por la Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA), el Netter Center for Community Partnerships y el Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies de la Universidad de Pensilvania. Reunió a investigadores, profesionales y representantes de la educación de toda la región, así como a socios mundiales, para compartir las mejores prácticas y crear una vía para reforzar la cooperación mundial. No full textDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro Sócio Econômico, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Relações Internacionais, Florianópolis, 2014.A presente dissertação objetiva investigar se a coordenação de atores da Ajuda Humanitária Internacional, analisada no âmbito do UNOCHA - United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, constitui uma Classe Global Emergente, promotora da Desnacionalização, conforme tipologia analítica de Saskia Sassen. Esta autora apresenta o conceito de Desnacionalização vinculado ao fenômeno da globalização e caracteriza as Classes Globais Emergentes por: serem arranjos sociais identificáveis, possuírem vinculação nacional e global, não serem cosmopolitas e apresentarem um referencial sistêmico no capitalismo global. Entende-se que é possível identificar elementos constitutivos e operacionais na conjugação dos atores da Ajuda Humanitária Internacional, a partir da lógica de coordenação do UNOCHA, que permitem verificar a plausibilidade da hipótese central desta pesquisa. Este é um estudo de Política Internacional e seu caráter é descritivo e exploratório. A sua delimitação temporal situa-se entre a década de 1980 e os dias atuais. Para a compreensão do contexto desta investigação serão utilizadas as teorias das Relações Internacionais do Institucionalismo Neoliberal e da Sociologia Histórica. A socióloga Saskia Sassen pertence à última escola.Abstract : This dissertation aims to investigate if the coordination of the International Humanitarian Aid actors, examined under UNOCHA - United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, is a Global Emerging Class, promoter of denationalization according to the analytical typology of Saskia Sassen. This author presents the concept of Denationalization linked to the phenomenon of globalization and characterizes the Emerging Global Class by: being identifiable social arrangements, having national and global binding, not being cosmopolitans and presenting a systemic reference in global capitalism. It is understood that it is possible to identify constitutive and operational elements in the conjugation of the International Humanitarian Aid actors, based on the coordination logic of UNOCHA, which allow to verify the plausibility of the central hypothesis of this research. This is a International Politics study whose character is descriptive and exploratory. Its temporal boundary is between the 1980s and the current days. To understand the context of this research the theories of International Relations of Neoliberal Institutionalism and Historical Sociology will be used. The sociologist Saskia Sassen belongs to the latter school
