Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Muller, Samuel B., collection, circa 1970
This collection consists of the medical equipment used by Dr. Samuel B. Muller in the Nursing Department during his stay at Pittsburg State University.
Dr. Samuel B. Muller was born in 1905 in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1932, Dr. Muller received his Bachelors of Science, and in 1934, a Doctor in Medicine from the University of Kansas. In 1934 he married Cordelia White. He practiced medicine in Southeast Kansas following the marriage. In 1941, Dr. Muller began working at the Royal Oak Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. In 1942, Dr. Muller became a Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserve and served in the South Pacific during World War II until 1945. After the war, Dr. Muller served as the City Health Officer in Pittsburg, Kansas from 1946 - 1973 joining the Crawford County Medical Society, The Red Cross Blood Drive, and the Mirza Shrine in the Process. In 1972, Dr. Muller also took up the job of the District Coroner. In 1973, Dr. Muller became a faculty member at the Kansas State College of Pittsburg (now Pittsburg State University) as the director of Student Health Services. In 1974, Dr. Muller became a fellow for the American Academy of Family Nurses. In the late 1970s, Dr. Muller left the Department. Dr. Muller passed away in Pittsburg in 1991.https://digitalcommons.pittstate.edu/fa/1366/thumbnail.jp

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
Atherigona tigris Muller 2015, sp. n.
Atherigona tigris sp. n.
Fig. 61

Etymology: From the Latin tigris (tiger), after Tiger Falls, Royal Natal National Park, South Africa.

Diagnosis: This species is similar to A. secrecauda but differs from it in having the hypopygial prominence weakly bifurcate and not bilobate in the shape of two fused triangles. Whilst A. tigris has the trifoliate process with a similar coloration, it differs structurally by not having a winglike hood and having the median piece without any emargination and with only a slight apical dilation.

Description:

Male.
Published as part of Muller, B. When's the next bus coming? - TRITAPT management system for bus and tram services
With no hard data on route times to go on, bus companies find it impossible to optimise their timetables. The result is that buses arrive needlessly late, and in some cases even pass their stops ahead of schedule, which is even more frustrating to waiting passengers. "I was at the bus stop on time, but the bus had already left." Transport engineer Theo Muller and his colleague Peter Knoppers of TU Delft have developed a measuring and analysis system for bus trip times that makes it possible to optimise the timetable. Long-term field tests at Eindhoven prove that the system does indeed help bus drivers to stick to their schedule

Lifetime characteristics of Gaiger-Muller counters
This paper discusses the process of functional aging of Geiger-Muller
counters. Two types of Geiger-Muller counter chambers were characterized in
an experiment using a combined constant voltage. Chamber A had a coaxial
geometry and chamber B had a plan-parallel geometry. The experimental results
indicate that the aging process was faster in the case of chambers with a
coaxial geometry. The results are explained based on the process of
electrical discharges in gasses
