    Peran mineral kromium (Cr) sebagai factor tolenransi glukosa (GTF) telah diketahui khususnya dalam meningkatkan entri glokosa kedalam sel. Glokosa adalah bahan baku sintesis laktosa susu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengakaji kemampuan nutrisi hidrolisat bulu ayam dan sorgum sebagai pengganti bungkil kedelai dan jagung serta mengetaui efek suplementasi Organik terhadap produksi susu dan respon kekebalan pada sapi perah. Penggunaan hidrolisat bulu ayam sebagai pengganti bungkil kedelai mengahasilakan kecemasan dan fermabilitas ransom yang lebih rendah, namun dapat ditingkatkan dengan suplementasi Cr-Organik hingga setara dengan ransom bungkil kedelai. Substitusi jagung dengan sorgum mengahasilkan profil VFA yang lebih baik sehingga Non Glucogenic Ratio dan metan yang dihasilkan produksi susu yang lebih tinggi (23.4 vs 26.2 kg/hr). Kadar ion K +susu dan leukosit darah lebih rendah serta Ig-G lebih tinggi pada ransom yang mendapat suplementasi Zn dan Cr. Kesimpulan yang didapat adalah bahwa tanpa disertai suplementasi Cr-Organik hidrolisat bulu ayam yang disuplementasi Zn-lisinat tidak mampu menggantikan bungkil kedelai. Ada indikasi kuat bahwa mineral Cr. Esensial bagi mikroba rumen. Sorgum mengahasilkan efisiensi energi heksosa menjadi VFA yang lebih tinggi, sehingga menghasilkan produksi susu lebih tinggi . Suplementasi Zn dapat meningkatkan ketahanan terhadap mastilis , sedang suplementasi Cr dapat meningkatkan respon kekebalan pada sapi perah

Selanjutnya perlakuan terbaik dari mas ng-masing jenis starter tersebut diuji fermentabilitasnya secara in vitro dengan pembandi g rumput gajah dan sampah organik tanpa fermentasi. Produk sampah fermentasi terb ik dart masing- masing starter diperoleh dari perlakuan 1) Fermentasi dengan starter E 4 dengan aditif onggok pada lama pemeraman 2 minggu, 2) Fermentasi dengan Lactoba illus bulgaricus dengan aditif dedak pada lama pemeraman 1 minggu, 3) Fermentasi de gan bolus sapi dengan aditif dedak dan lama pemeraman 2 minggu. Hasil pengujian ferme tabilitas secara in vitro mendapatkan bahwa kecernaan BK, BO dan produksi WA sa pah fermentasi lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan sampah tanpa fermentasi, namun tida berbeda nyata dibandingkan dengan rumput gajah. Produksi NH3 sampah fermen i lebih tinggi dibanding rumput tnaupun sampah yang tidak difermentasi. Baik rumput aupun sampah ternyata mengandung Pb yang tinggi (2,4 — 13,74 ppm), melebihi amb ng batas yang ditetapkan FAO/WHO. Disimpulkan bahwa sampah dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti rumput, namun perlu upaya detoksifikasi/eliminasi logam berat dari dala tubuh ternak. Perlakuan fermentasi yang direkomendasikan adalah fermentasi dengan Lactobacillus bulgaricus pada penggunaan aditif dedak dan lama pemeraman 1 minggu.The first year experiment was aimed to study the technology or processing organic garbage, considering its nutrient quality, safety and whealty as ru inant feed. A 3)(4 factorial pattern of experimental design was used to study the effectivi of 3 kinds of microbes (EM4, Lactobacillus hulgaris, rumen bolus) in fermenting the or anic garbage. The fixed factor of treatments were the addition of substrate (cassava w te, rice bran, maize grain) and duration of fermentation (0, 1, 2, and 4 weeks). The b st fermented garbage using respective substrate were then tested their in vitro digestibility, and were compared with in vitro digestibility of fresh organic garbage and elephant grass. The fermentation using EM4 microbes combined with cassava waste for 2 we ks, Lactobacillus bulgaris combined with rice bran for 1 week, and using rumen bolus c mbined with rice bran for 2 weeks, respectively, gave the best nutrient contents for rmented organic garbage. The dry and organic matter digestibility and rumen VFA produce ion of fermented garbage were lower than those of fresh garbage, but did not differ to those of elephant grass. The rumen NI-I3 production of fremented garbage was higher t an that of fresh garbage. The main constriction in using the garbage as ruminans feed w the high content of Pb element (2,4 - 13,74 ppm). It was suggested that the garbage c uld be used for ruminant feed in substituting the usage of grass, but need the research for limination Pb. It was recommended to ferment fresh garbage using Lactobacillus bulgari combined with rice addition for 1 week

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
