Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textThe aim of this study is (1) to determine the students self efficacies with Special Needs in inclusive schools; (2) to find out what are the factors that must be considered in improving self-confidence (Self Efficacy) in special needs students in inclusive school. This research using qualitative descriptive analysis. The data collected by techniques such as triangulation. Triangulation means of data collection techniques are combining of various data collection techniques and sources of existing data that includes observation, interviews, and documentation. While the steps of data analysis in this study include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research is Self-confidence (self-efficacy) of students with special needs in SD Negeri Karanganyar quite good. Only 4 aspects of the 10 aspects of self-confidence (self-efficacy) of students with special needs that need to be improved. While the six other aspects are good. All six aspects of self-confidence of students with special needs that need to be maintained is the aspect of the perception of students with special needs will be its ability, readiness in learning, attitudes or reactions to novelty, diligent efforts in completing the task, the ability to produce work (productivity), and the ability to self-regulate. While these four aspects are still lacking is knowledge of learning, mastery of skills in certain competencies, creative ability to solve problems (inguenity), and the ability to face the threat (threat). Factors to consider in improving self-confidence (self-efficacy) students with disabilities in inclusive schools is the availability of space assessment, special assistant teacher availability, systems management class inclusion, and skills of classroom teachers to guide and direct students with special needs in an effort to optimize their potential
Studi Komparasi Budaya Sekolah SDSN dan SD Eks-RSBI di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta
No full textPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui perbedaan budaya sekolah di SDSN dan SD Eks RSBI DIY, (2) memaparkan perbedaan masing-masing aspek budaya sekolah antara SDSN dengan SD Eks RSBI. Jenis penelitian ini adalah komparasi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua kepala sekolah, guru, dan staf SDSN dan SD RSBI di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 797 orang untuk SDSN dan 155 orang untuk SD Eks RSBI. Sampel dari SDSN berjumlah 256 orang dan sampel dari SD Eks-RSBI sebanyak 116 orang ditentukan menggunakan teknik proportional sampling.Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis univariat, bivariat, dan uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara budaya sekolah SDSN dengan SD Eks RSBI di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta; (2) ditemukan perbedaan skor dari masing-masing aspek budaya sekolah di SDSN dan SD Eks RSBI DIY. Aspek budaya sekolah yang lebih baik di SDSN adalah kolaborasi profesional, hubungan kolegial, self determination, visi-misi, konsensus, dan disiplin. Sedangkan aspek budaya sekolah yang lebih unggul pada SD Eks RSBI adalah aspek komitmen, hormat, empati, bebas bullying dan artefak fisik
The Comparison of Nationalism and Civic Education Value Between Indonesian And Malaysian Elementary School Textbook
Full text linkThis research aim is to know how the values of nationalism and civic education lesson are taught and to know in what ways the similarities and the differences in the form or pattern of presentation of the values of nationalism and civic education lesson in the elementary school textbooks in Indonesia and Malaysia. This research is a type of qualitative research using content analysis method. The sample in this study were two elementary school textbooks in the third and fourth grades of the official ministry of education in Indonesia and Malaysia. The research result reveals that the way to present the value of nationalism and the civics lesson is through a story, narrative text, song/ poetry/ letter, classroom activities, images/ symbol/ pictures, and factual news. The second result reveals that there were similarities and differences in the insertion of the values of nationalism and civic lessons in both textbooks from Indonesia and Malaysia
Analisis Wawasan Kebangsaan Melalui Buku Teks Kelas Rendah Sekolah Dasar Kurikulum Tematik 2013
Full text linkPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan muatan nilai-nilai wawasan kebangsaan pada buku teks siswa kelas SD kelas rendah Kurikulum 2013 pada bagian wacana, petunjuk kerja, tagihan kerja, dan evaluasi. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik kajian isi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif berupa study literature. Langkah yang dilakukan dalam penelitian adalah dengan menganalisis konten buku teks tematik siswa SD kelas rendah Kurikulum 2013. Adapun analisis datanya menggunakan analisis deskriptif-interpretatif melewati proses reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat enam aspek dari nilai wawasan kebangsaan yang tercakup dalam buku teks tematik siswa kelas rendah sekolah dasar di antaranya adalah aspek Kesetiakawanan Sosial dengan rincian sebanyak 23%, aspek Demokrasi dan Kedaulatan Rakyat sejumlah 11%, Cinta Tanah Air dengan persentase 19%, aspek Penghargaan terhadap Harkat dan Martabat Manusia sebagai Makhluk Ciptaan Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa sebanyak 17%, aspek Tekad Bersama untuk Berkehidupan Kebangsaan yang Bebas, Merdeka dan Bersatu sebanyak 17%, aspek serta aspek Masyarakat Adil dan Makmur dengan persentase 14%. Keenam aspek tersebut diajarkan melalui pembiasaan sikap dalam setiap aktivitas belajar baik sebelum, saat, maupun setelah pembelajaran di kelas, penanaman sikap melalui cerita dan muatan materi, pengenalan simbol dan maknanya, dan melalui pengenalan produk budaya dan keragaman bangsa, pemberian kebebasan dalam berpendapat. Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
