    The numerical modelling of the interactions between water waves and floating structures is significant for different areas of the marine sector, especially seakeeping and prediction of wave-induced loads. Seakeeping analysis involving severe flow fluctuations is still quite challenging even for the conventional RANS method. Particle method has been viewed as alternative for such analysis especially those involving deformable boundary, wave breaking and fluid fragmentation around hull shapes. In this paper, the Weakly Compressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (WCSPH), a fully Lagrangian particle method, is applied to simulate the symmetric radiation problem for a stationary barge treated as a flexible body. This is carried out by imposing prescribed forced simple harmonic oscillations in heave, pitch and the 2- and 3-node distortion modes. The resultant, radiation force predictions, namely added mass and fluid damping coefficients, are compared with results from 3-D potential flow boundary element method and 3-D RANS CFD predictions, in order to verify the adopted modelling techniques for WCSPH. WCSPH were found to be in agreement with most results and could predict the fluid actions equally well in most cases

    Capital structure is one of the most important financial decisions in corporate financing strategy. It involves the choice of debt and equity level in financing a company's operations. This study aims to investigate whether the capital structure choice of Malaysian manufacturing companies that are listed in the Bursa Malaysia can be explained by factors that have been found by most studies as dominant determinants of capital structure. This study comprises of 50 observations each of the independents variables and dependent variables on a yearly basic over a 10 year period from 2005 to 2014. The panel data used from 2004 to 2014. The data has been analyzed by using Eviews 8.0. The dependent variable are capital structure and the independent variable are company size, profitability, asset tangibility, liquidity and growth opportunities

    We have chosen Bangunan UMNO, Ipoh at Perak Darul Ridzuan as our site research for Integrated Final Project (BSB 314). There are many things we learn during the process of completing the task. From the beginning of the project we have to find the suitable buildings that fulfill the criteria that need by the lecture. The building must be high-rise building and the age of the building must be 2 years and above. After searching about two weeks, finally we have found Bangunan UMNO, Ipoh for our final project. Bangunan UMNO, Ipoh is fully owned by UMNO, UMNO is the organization that under the government which is can be classified as politics organization. These buildings have seven floors and a basement. We meet the person that in charge in the building. His name is Encik Khazrin Bin Khalil as a person who works in Building Department. We collect the data and information from him. From the information that we gained this building maintenance exactly using out-source contractor for building services. Building services that using out-source contractor is cleaning, air-conditioning, landscape, security, mechanical and electrical, lift, firefighting system and pest control. This Building is using planned and unplanned maintenance for maintenance strategy. For unplanned maintenance that be informed in three sections such as short-term, medium-term and long-term. The maintenance department has their own strategy to make sure all the equipment and facade of the building in a good condition. We also get the information about financial of maintenance in that building. We need to know the budget for maintenance cost and we need to proposed the forecast future cost of maintenance of the building Lastly, we have gained a lot of knowledge about this building. This Integrated Final Project have combined the entire subject that have we learn in last four semesters. This subject needs us to use all the knowledge that we learn before. This assignment was completely done on the time. We hope all the knowledge that we gained can be used in future as successful building surveyor

    Legalhouse renovations have caused various issues for Malaysian local governments. Local authorities have borne an unjustified financial burden as a result of enforcement work, as have homeowners. As a result, the purpose of this research is to investigate the challenges connected with unlawful house renovations in a local council and to investigate the views of the local council's stakeholders to the prospect of including the community in reframing the housing remodelling rules. The finding suggests that the difficulties with unlawful renovations are mostly the result of an inadequate guideline, a lack of public knowledge, unconstrained small contractors, and cumbersome enforcement procedures. The stakeholders on the council also agreed that increased community engagement is welcomed in redesigning the existing remodelling guideline, however not to the degree of giving the general public complete control over the final output

    Fires have burnt on Earth since terrestrial plants arose, providing a supply of fuel and oxygen, with major consequences for the Earth's system. The very major problem that is occurring in the current firefighting management is inadequate and unusable firefighting equipment in the building and low fire safety awareness among dormitory occupants due to dormitory management ineffectively executing their responsibility in fire safety management. This study aim of this research is to seek and demonstrate the level of awareness by the dormitory occupants regarding the usage of active firefighting equipment in the dormitory building. The study and findings of this research will help in giving suggestions for improving the firefighting system in the dormitory building and increasing the awareness level of the building occupants

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
