    No full text
In this article, twelve scholars of District Haripur have been discussed for their significant contribution in Islamic sciences and various religious issues. The fact remains that District Haripur has remained the center for Islamic education wherein almost every school of thought has existed. In this article, those scholars are provided expression who despite been a part of some particular school of thought, have always encouraged intra-faith harmony. For example, "Al Ribat li Rad Hiyla al Isqat" by Maulana Mohammad Azam contains plenty of updated information on this issue. Similarly, another book called as "Mu'in-ul-'Aqaid” by Maulana Mohammad Hassan, provides grounds for rejecting the hypocrisy of society in a befitting manner. Before writing this article, a session was held with those scholars who are still alive whereas details of those dead were collected from their family members

A Novel Multi-Layer Framework for Dynamic Operation of Prosumers in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Energy Markets

    No full text
Research in transactive energy systems, in recent years, has been primarily focused on the financial aspects of peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trade with little attention paid to the operational and practical aspects of how this energy trade should occur in a system. Practical prosumer behavior in such systems should be subject to their own internal status and the external conditions of the electrical network. Moreover, for such practical realization of a prosumer to be feasible, they should be primed to operate through system disturbances and parameter uncertainties. In this thesis, a novel mathematical model is presented to enable prosumers to partake in P2P energy trades with full operational freedom over their own consumption, energy storage system (ESS) operation and their distributed power generation capability. The proposed model integrates a physical system (physical layer) with prosumer operations (virtual layer) to evolve a multi-layer framework which allows physical network constraints to be implemented with relative ease. The formulation is implemented on a 33-Bus test system considering various system objectives and the results demonstrably prove the significance and applicability of the proposed framework in P2P energy markets. The multi-layer framework is then further extended to enable the prosumer to respond to uncertainties in the local grid or its distributed energy resources, through an MPC based approach. The considered uncertainties are further split into categories termed as ’known uncertainty’ and ’unknown uncertainty’; with the former referring to forecasting errors and the latter referring to unexpected system disturbances. Several cases are developed considering combinations of system parameters to be uncertain and by introducing disturbances to observe prosumer responses. The simulation results prominently show the prosumers responding to unexpected disturbances by adjusting their behavior and P2P energy trade while maintaining their optimal objectives. Such results demonstrate the viability of this MPC approach for the realization of a practical prosumer

    PEMIKIRAN THABATHABA’I TERHADAP MATAN HADIS-HADIS MUT’AH DALAM AL-MIZAN FI TAFSIR AL-QUR’AN

Mitigating heavy metal pollution in agriculture: A multi-omics and nanotechnology approach to safeguard global wheat production

    No full text
The escalating issue of heavy metal (HM) contamination in agricultural soils presents an urgent challenge to the sustainability of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production. This review underscores the critical need for innovative approaches to ensure food security while mitigating environmental degradation. The integration of nano and quantum technologies with multi-omics frameworks emerges as a groundbreaking solution to this pressing issue. HMs like Cd, As, and Pb severely impair plant physiology, leading to diminished yields and compromised grain quality. Nanoparticles such as ZnO, TiO₂, and MnO₂, along with quantum dots, have shown substantial promise in bolstering wheat's natural defense systems, enhancing both enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant pathways, and reducing metal uptake through targeted detoxification mechanisms. By leveraging advanced omics technologies—transcriptomics, ionomics, proteomics, and metabolomics—researchers can unravel key molecular pathways and biomarkers, offering precision-guided interventions for metal stress management. Furthermore, future innovations like genome-editing technologies such as clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) and transgenic techniques hold the potential to create wheat varieties inherently more resilient to environmental contaminants. The review highlights the necessity of long-term field trials and the exploration of under-researched metals and nanoparticles to bring these promising laboratory findings to real-world application. These combined strategies not only contribute to sustainable agriculture but also provide a viable path toward reducing the ecological footprint of HM contamination, thereby safeguarding global food security. We are very thankful to the Quaid-i-Azam University administration for supporting our work. This research was funded by Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan, supporting the investigation of advanced strategies to mitigate heavy metal stress in agricultural systems

Piezoresistive behavior of MWCNT/PA12 honeycomb composites processed via selective laser sintering

    No full text
This study examines the piezoresistive and mechanical behaviors of multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/polyamide (PA12) lattice composites processed via selective laser sintering (SLS). Firstly, neat PA12 powder was ballmilled with either 0.3, 0.5, or 1.0 wt% MWCNT loading to obtain nanoengineered powder feedstocks. The feedstocks were used to realize electrically conductive MWCNT/PA12 bulk and honeycomb lattice structures via SLS. The piezoresistive and mechanical characteristics of bulk samples were assessed under tensile, compressive, and flexure loadings while those of honeycombs were investigated under in-plane and out-of-plane compression. The morphological and thermal characterizations were carried out to gain insight into the processing-structure-property relations. The microstructural observations, including in situ μ-CT imaging, revealed that the porosity of the sintered parts significantly increased (≈150%) with increasing MWCNT loading, resulting in reduced elastic stiffness and strength of the sintered composites, despite their slightly higher crystallinity (+6% for 0.5 wt% MWCNT loading). The bulk nanocomposites exhibited excellent piezoresistive characteristics, showing a maximum gauge factor of 31 (in compression), which is significantly higher than the sensitivity factors of extant piezoresistive self-sensing composites. The honeycomb structures showed a maximum specific energy absorption of 3 and 24 J g−1 at 40% relative density under in-plane and out-of-plane compression loading, respectively. It was also demonstrated, that the MWCNT/PA12 honeycombs possess excellent strain sensing characteristics due to their pronounced piezoresistivity, reporting gauge factors up to 25 and 17 for in-plane and out-of-plane loading, respectively

Herein, we present the mechanical and piezoresistive behavior of MWCNT/UHMWPE nanocomposites processed via selective laser sintering (SLS) under tensile, flexural and cyclic loadings. We show that the uniform dispersion of MWCNTs in UHMWPE enhances crystallinity (+10% for 0.5 wt.% MWCNT) and decreases porosity (as evidenced by μCT images), evincing the lowest porosity (∼ 1%) and the highest tensile strength of 20.3 MPa which is ∼45% higher than the maximum tensile strength of extant SLS processed UHMWPE and UHMWPE-based composites. The nanocomposite also exhibits superior piezoresistive characteristics, showing a sensitivity (in tension) of 0.6 and 2.6 in the elastic and inelastic regime, respectively. Furthermore, 2D-hexagonal nanocomposite lattices with a relative density of 50% reveal a linear piezoresistive response with a gauge factor of 1 and show consistent and stable strain sensing capability over 100 cycles. The results demonstrate the potential of MWCNT/UHMWPE nanocomposites for the development of smart biomedical devices

Rewriting history : postmodern and postcolonial negotiations in the fiction of J.G. Farrell, Timothy Mo, Kazuo Ishiguro and Salman Rushdie

    No full text
This thesis is a study of the rewriting of history in the work of four novelists: J. G. Farrell, Timothy Mo, Kazuo Ishiguro and Salman Rushdie. I argue that their work occupies a particular position that is both within contemporary British fiction, yet at one remove from it. Their work is situated within the context of critiques of history that are the source of a conflict between postmodernism and postcolonialism. I suggest that each writer engages with postmodemist aesthetics often in an attempt to produce critical histones that bear witness to the voices of those hitherto silenced in conventional historiography. However, these novelists remain anxious as to the potential consequences of mobilising postmodernist models of history, particularly as to the problems this creates concerning historical reference. The thesis aims to identify the range of related attitudes to postmodernist critiques of history at this particular juncture of contemporary fiction in English. I approach the specific position of the novelists under study through Homi Bhabha's work on the confluence of the postmodern and the postcolonial, focusing in particular on his suggestion that the postmodem refutation of Western epistemology enables a postcolonial space where a new range of histories emerge. Because each writer works between at least two cultures, and primarily within Britain, they negotiate from within received epistemology in an attempt to locate a space at its boundaries where conventional forms of knowledge no longer have efficacy. However, in contrast to Bhabha, these writers struggle to reach this space and remain sceptical as to the usefulness of postmodernism in making available new forms of historiography. Ultimately, their work enables a critique of current ways of theorising the relationship between the postmodem and the postcolonial in literary studies
