Performance of Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) with lime as stabilising agent for soil improvement / Muhammad Sofian Abdullah … [et al.]
Agricultural waste materials have a great potential to be used as chemical stabilizer in the soil stabilization technique. In this research, the performance of Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) was investigated to improve the engineering properties of silty soil by mixing it with the lime slurry under different curing period. Silty soil had been used in this study because it is a problematic soil with low strength. The problem related to this soil is like structure failure due to inadequacy of the soil strength. Objective of this study is to investigate the performance of lime and POFA as the stabilization agent on silty soil. More than hundreds remoulded sample have been prepared based on 1:3 ratio (lime:POFA).These samples were cured for 7, 14, 28 and 60 days. The performance of POFA in stabilizing silty soil is great at the ratio of 2% POFA and 6% lime in the silty soil. The performance of the stabilized silty soil will decrease if the ratio of POFA and lime exceeding 2:6. The strength development of soil treated with lime and POFA is increasing with respect to the curing time. As a conclusion, POFA can be used to treat the silty soil as well as reduce the environmental problem
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Assessment of slope failures with regards to soil physical properties and soil shear strength / Prof. Madya Ir. Damanhuri Jamalludin, Muhammad Sofian Abdullah and Mohamad Irwan Pandapotan Harahap
On the 11th December 1993, Highland Tower near Hulu Kelang, Selangor toppled due to slope failure causing 48 residents were killed. It became the worst nightmare to the all Malaysian especially to those who are the residents of the un-failed near by tower as well as in the engineering lines. Since then, many more slope failures occurred in Malaysia yearly during the rainy seasons. Hence, slope failures ranked among the worst natural disaster occurring in Malaysia, studies on the slope failures are becoming important Slope failure, also referred to as mass wasting, is the downslope movement of rock debris and soil in response to gravitational stresses. There are many factors affecting slope failures such as weaknesses in the composition or structure of the rock or soil; variation in conditions such as change in rainfall, unorganized drainage or surface stability (removal of vegetation). Among these factors, rainfall, earthquake and human activities are important starter factors that are causing slope failures to occur. This study is to determine the relationship between physical soil properties and soil shear strength under saturated condition. Hydrometer and sieve tests to determine the physical soil properties and saturated shear box tests were conducted to determine the shear strength for soil samples taken from slope failure locations. Slope failure locations selected were from slope failures tragedic sites in Balik Pulau in Penang, Baling in Kedah and Gerik in Perak. From this research it can be concluded that gravelly silt has the largest range of angle of shearing resistance while silt has the smallest range of angle of shearing resistance. Gravelly silt has the largest range of cohesion while very silty sand has the small strange of cohesion

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

waste were selected namely rice husk ash (RHA), palm oil fuel ash (POFA) and sugarcane baggase ash (SCBA). More than hundreds samples were prepared according to the several mix design. The samples were cured for 7, 14, 28 and 60 days
and then tested by using unconfined compressive strength (UCT) as a shear strength test. By the result observation, the agricultural waste had increased the shear strength
of the silty soil as the percentage of agricultural waste increased at the longer curing time. As a conclusion, this preliminary test shows that the agricultural waste can be
