Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
The Authority of the Supervisory Board in the Supervision of the Corruption Eradication Commission in Indonesia

The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi [KPK]) plays a crucial role in overseeing corruption prevention and prosecution in Indonesia. The establishment of this board has raised legal and institutional questions regarding its authority and its relationship with KPK high officials.
Aims and Objectives:
This study aims to examine the authority of the Supervisory Board in supervising the prevention and prosecution of corruption, analyze the implementation of its supervisory functions, and explore the supervisory model applicable to the KPK.
Materials and Methods:
This research employs a normative legal approach. Data collection was conducted through a literature review, including relevant legal documents, laws, and regulations. The collected legal materials were systematically analyzed and presented as a logically interconnected unit.
Results:
The findings indicate that: (1) The Supervisory Board is an internal part of the KPK and is responsible for overseeing the execution of the KPK’s duties and authorities. Based on Law No. 70/PUU-XVII/2019, the Constitutional Court delineates the legal and institutional relationship between KPK high officials and the Supervisory Board, emphasizing that the board is prohibited from interfering in the judicial or pro justitia authority of KPK officials. (2) The Supervisory Board exercises its supervision through three main functions: (i) overseeing the KPK’s duties and authorities, (ii) drafting and enforcing a code of ethics for KPK officials, and (iii) evaluating the performance of KPK leaders and employees. (3) The Supervisory Board conducts preventive supervision by requiring KPK high officials to notify the board regarding wiretapping, confiscation, and searches. This notification process is essential for ensuring internal synergy while maintaining the integrity of corruption investigations.
Conclusion:
The Supervisory Board plays a critical role in ensuring accountability within the KPK through preventive and evaluative oversight. While its authority is limited in judicial matters, its preventive functions contribute to internal governance and procedural integrity. Further legal refinements may be necessary to enhance the balance between supervisory authority and operational autonomy

So researchers are interested in examining the interaction patterns between teachers and students contained in Surah al-Kahf verses 60-82. The formulation of the problem in this research is what the pattern of interaction between teacher (Khidir) and student (Musa) is in Q.S al-Kahf verses 60-82. The aim of this research is to find out the pattern of interaction between Prophet Khidir and Prophet Musa in Q.S al-Kahf verses 60-82. This type of research is library research. The data collection technique is a library technique by analyzing and collecting data related to the discussion as well as some literature regarding interaction patterns contained in Q.S al-Kahf verse 6 60-82. The object of the research is to explore based on the Tafsir book and relevant books. The data analysis technique uses content analysis to explore the content of Surah al-Kahf verses 60-82. The results of this research show that the interaction pattern between the teacher (Khidir) and the student (Musa) uses a two-way interaction pattern, namely that the teacher and student both play an active role in the learning process. This pattern uses a question and answer method. After the teacher explains the material, the teacher will give students the opportunity to ask questions and then be answered by the teacher. The teacher poses problems to the students so that it can give rise to student initiative to solve the problem which causes interaction between the teacher and students so that the student's role is active. In this story there are educational components, namely educational goals, educators, students, materials and methods related to interactions in today's education
