Has done research on the diversity of species predators plant pest rice on paddy fields in the village of Pasar Kamis, Districs of Banjar the province of South Kalimantan in June - October 2011. Research objectives are to studying the effect of the management of rice fields done by alumni Famer Field School of Integrated Pest Management (FFS-IPM) of the presence of predatory pest rice than done by non-alumni. To know the species of predators done caught predators with a sweep insects. The research results show that diversity of species predators in paddy field managed by alumni based on the order, the family and types relatively number is higher compared with rice fields managed by non-alumni. In paddy fields managed by farmers of alumni, predators were 6 order, 20 family and 24 species, while managed non-alumni were 6 order, 17 family and 20 species

Pest control use conventional insecticidal, can increase pest resistance, environmental pollution, poisoning, death of non target animal and residue. Buprofezin is a thiadiazine insect growth regulator (IGR) acting as moulting inhibitor for the persistent larvicidal action against some Coleoptera, Hemiptera and Acarina. Because the chemical itself is very specific to the certain insects, so very safe to the natural enemies and the other beneficial insects. The use of insect growth regulator (IGR) for controling pest is alternative control that high selectivity against target insect

Distribution of Rubber Leaf Fall Disease in the Swamp Lands of Barito Kuala District

Swamp land is a rubber development area in South Kalimantan and rubber plants are a leading commodity in South Kalimantan, second after palm oil plants. Starting in 2019, the rubber industry in Indonesia experienced an outbreak of leaf fall disease. This disease causes a decrease in latex production of up to 50%, even in advanced conditions, infected plants will rot and die without treatment. This research aims to study the distribution of rubber leaf fall disease in the swamplands of Barito Kuala district. A  disease incidence and severity survey was carried out using a stratified random sampling method. It was observed that eight sub-districts in Barito Kuala district and Banjar district had swamp land that planted rubber. At four locations/villages in each sub-district, sample plants were taken, and it was determined that there were 25 plants diagonally. Disease incidence and severity parameters followed the International Rubber Research Development Board. The research revealed that rubber leaf fall disease has spread in four rubber-plantation sub-districts. All sub-districts surveyed were 100% affected by rubber leaf fall disease. The rubber leaf fall disease attack in the studied is quite severe with an average disease severity of 67%. Keywords: Distribution, Leaf fall disease, Rubber, Swamp lan

Identification of fruit flies of dragon fruit in Tanah Laut has never been conducted. This research was aimed to identify fruit flies species of dragon fruit and its natural enemies in Batu Ampar, Tanah Laut, Kalimantan Selatan. The fruit flies attacking dragon fruit in the field was collected. Observation was performed on the development of the larvae until adult and finally emerging adult was identified as well as its parasitoid. The result showed that the obtained fruit flies was Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel and Aceratoneuro myiaindica (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae: Tetrastichinae) was found as the parasitoid. Five predators was found as its natural enemies, namely red ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Solenopsis), rangrang ant (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Oecophylla), spiders (Arachnida), kumbang stafilinid (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) and earwig (Dermaptera: Forficulidae: Forficula)

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
