Twin Deficit Phenomena in the Two Government Eras in Indonesia
Economic Growth: Addressing the Nexus of Education, Unemployment, and Poverty, an Islamic Perspective
This research aims to analyze the effects of education, unemployment, and poverty on economic growth in West Java. This research used a quantitative technique. The research was conducted from 2018 to 2022. The data source used is secondary data acquired from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) using panel data methods. This research included 27 cross-sectional analyses across 27 districts/cities in West Java over a period of 5 years. The total number of observations included 135 samples. This research used panel data regression methods. The results indicate that educational attainment and unemployment rates affect economic growth. The poverty variable has a little influence on economic development. The findings indicated that all independent variables concurrently influence the dependent variable
Pengaruh Aspek-Aspek Demokrasi Indonesia Terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Indonesia Periode 2016-2020
This research aims to find out how aspects of democracy presented through civil liberties, political rights, and democratic institutions influence Indonesia\u27s economic growth from 2016 to 2020. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) provided the data and researchers used secondary data for this research from 2016 to 2022. The random effect model (REM) is the model selection test most commonly found in this research approach, which uses panel data regression analysis tools. It was found that variables related to democratic institutions positively and significantly influence economic growth. However, civil liberties and political rights did not affect Indonesia\u27s economic growth from 2016 to 2020
Human Capital Relation with Welfare in Indonesia and Asean Countries
The quality of human capital strongly determines the economic development of a country. Human capital can be shaped by the level of education and public health. This research analyzes the development and competition of human capital of Indonesia and other 5 ASEAN countries from 1985-2016. The problem of this study is whether human capital can be a significant determinant of economic welfare (per capita income) in ASEAN countries. The research used a regression analysis of panel data (all countries) and multiple linear regression (for each country). The independent variables are life expectancy, population growth rate, working-age population, and infant mortality rate per 1,000 live births. The results show that in general, all independent variables have a significant effect on GDP per capita. Nevertheless, an analysis in each country shows different levels and direction of influence. The quality of the human capital of Indonesia is still at the middle level among ASEAN countries. Therefore a variety of efforts to improve the quality of human capital needs to be done by the government and the people of Indonesia to win the competition between ASEAN countries
Public Debt And Economic Growth In The Southeast Asia Countries
This study examines the relationship between public debt and economic growth in eight countries in
Southeast Asia that are members of ASEAN. Through the study will contribute reference for each
country to establish their macroeconomic policies. Using 10 years of data from 2006 to 2015 and
analysis tools Vector Auto regression (VAR), the study attempts to test the theory of finance led
growth. The main finding of this study is that public debt is actually able to increase the economic
growth of a country significantly, although it takes a few years of its existence. This finding supports
several previous studies that demonstrate the important role of government debt to the economy of a
country
The Effects of Exports, Inflation, Provincial Minimum Wage, Household Consumption, and Democracy on PMDN in Java Island for the 2009-2022 Period
Investment is an activity that can increase economic growth in a region. In times of crisis, economic activities that can help stabilize the economy are private investment or commonly called Domestic Investment (PMDN). The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of independent variables in the form of exports, inflation, provincial minimum wage, household consumption, and the Indonesian democracy index on the variables of Domestic Investment in 6 Provinces in Java for the 2009-2022 period. The data used in this study is secondary panel data. The analysis method used is the panel data regression analysis method with a weighted Fixed Effect model approach with Cross Section SUR. The results of this study are export variables, provincial minimum wages, and the Indonesian democracy index have a significant and positive influence on PMDN. Then the inflation variable has a negative and insignificant influence on PMDN. Meanwhile, household consumption has a significant and negative influence on PMDN in 6 provinces in Java
PERAN TATA KELOLA PEMERINTAHAN (GOVERNANCE) SERTA BAURAN KEBIJAKAN FISKAL DAN MONETER DALAM PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI: STUDI DI NEGARA-NEGARA ANGGOTA ORGANISASI KERJASAMA ISLAM (OKI)
Taking the governance quality as a variable initiating fiscal and monetary policy for economic growth into account, the study aims at evaluating the roles of its distribution using St. Louis model developed by Andersen and Jordan in 1968. Money supply (M) as monetary policy proxy is the independent variable while the government expenditure (G) and public debt (D) as fiscal proxies are the dependent ones. The governance index (INS) variable constitutes 6 indicators: 1) voice and accountability; 2) political stability and absence of violence/terrorism; 3) government effectiveness; 4) regulatory quality; 5) rule of law; 6) control of corruption.
Due to data-access practical problem, 46 nations out of 57 members of the organization were the samples within the 2005 to 2018 periods. Moderating panel data regression with 28 equations was used to analyze. Population and investment were the control variable.
The study shows that fiscal policy (the government expenditure) and monetary policy (the money supply) influenced the economic growth significantly. Public debt, however, influenced negatively to the OIC members‟ economic growth while the governance gave positive influence significantly. It proved the significance of governance quality in recent economic growth.
Governance was unable to act as an effective moderator to the policy, but it worked directly influencing the economic growth of OIC members. The governance index worked more effectively moderating any economic variable, which is basically the people‟s economic activities
