Nowadays, those who are planning to perform Umrah will have to deal with a travel agent in order to do Umrah. Meanwhile, travel agent tend to provide packages for Umrah Pilgrims in which could not be necessary for those who are already been to Makkah or Madinah before. Besides, they also would face some difficulties in finding an authorized travel agent as they need to approach them for visa purpose. Other than that, it could be troublesome for them in finding each of the hotel and accommodation needed which requires them to look thoroughly throughout the internet. Therefore, the objective for this project is to design a platform which ease the Umrah pilgrims in searching their hotel and accommodation needed by them during Umrah. Other than that, this project have developed a mobile application that can help Umrah pilgrims in creating their own itinerary during their Umrah period. Other than that, an application that centralized all of the authorized travel agents has been develop to ease them throughout the process of visa application. This application is created using Android framework and can be used in an Android-based smartphone. Users are able to plan their own Umrah trip with ease with the guide from this application. Besides, users also able to manage their cost and time effectively by using this mobile application

DISCRETE EVENT SIMULATION MODELING WITH ARENA FOR COMBINATION OF MANUAL QUEUE AND FAST TRACK QUEUE IN HOSPITAL

    No full text
In this study an analysis of the patient queuing system will be carried out by developing a queuing system, namely adding aspects of patient registration status and the registration process with a system or machine or through the hospital's web by downloading an application. This study aims to improve the efficiency of patient service management in clinics and develop a patient care management simulation model so that the number of patient rejections and patient waiting time in clinics. Discrete Event Simulation (DES) with ARENA and compare it with manual processes and with applications or machines in the registration process. The results show that patient rejection can be reduced to 1%, and the average patient time to be seen by a doctor is 0.7145 hours. If converted into minutes, each type of patient takes about 10 minutes in the doctor's office

Risk Management in Slickline Fishing Operations: a Delphi Study

    No full text
Slickline fishing, as a result of undesired event, is economically preferable compared to workover. However, the fact that it does not always end with success but also worsened situation making it a risk management strategy. This research aims to manage the risk during normal slickline to avoid fish and while performing fishing operations using three-round Delphi study to conduct risk identification and to determine countermeasures by asking panel of selected experts. The results revealed that nine risks to be prioritized in Slickline operations to avoid fishing situation and four less prioritized risks to be considered. It has also revealed that 12 risks to be prioritized during fishing operations to avoid ending up in worse situation and five prioritized risks to be considered. The Delphi reached consensus on 12 countermeasures to be prioritized in Slickline operations to avoid fishing situation and 14 important factors for successful fishing operations

    No full text
Forging Industry Supply Chain involves various actors and acts as Industry Intermediate providing various products for downstream industrial customers. This study aims to analyze supply chain performance and recommend improvement strategy at forging Industry. This study applied supply chain operation reference (SCOR) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to analyze supply chain performance. A SWOT analysis assisted to improve supply chain performance. The data was validated at PT ABC and PT XYZ as two focal company in supply chain operations of forging industry. The results show that the supply chain performance at PT. ABC 99.42% and 99.05% in 2019 and 2020, respectively.  PT. XYZ showed supply chain performance score as 96.60% and 97.52% in 2019 and 2020, respectively. This study has succeeded in formulating efforts to improve the supply chain performance, namely: producing quality goods according to domestic market specifications, maintaining good relations with suppliers or outsourcing, improving services using high technology

Performance Improvement of Quality Monitoring Systems in Imbalanced Data Conditions for Fat-Filled Powder Quality in The Dairy Industry

    No full text
Fat-filled powder has the potential to substitute milk in meeting the nutritional needs of the community, but its product quality remains unstable during continuous production processes. A key challenge in fat-filled powder (FFP) production is the difficulty in quality monitoring, which is influenced by various uncertainty factors that affect product quality. Machine learning can be implemented for quality monitoring system, but the imbalanced data conditions require the development of algorithms with optimal performance. This study aims to design a quality monitoring system for FFP using a machine learning model under imbalanced dataset conditions and the influence of other uncertainty factors. A Random Forest (RF) machine learning model was developed for monitoring FFP quality. In the context of imbalanced datasets, the model was optimized through various scenarios, including data splitting for training and testing, as well as the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) and Distribution Optimally Balanced – Stratified Cross Validation (DOB-SCV) schemes. The results showed that the SMOTE model achieved the best performance in terms of accuracy, precision, and recall with scores of 99.67%, 99.79%, and 99.24%, respectively, on the testing data. Statistically, the RF model with the SMOTE data manipulation scenario also showed significant differences compared to the DOB-SCV model and the traditional data splitting approach. The quality monitoring model for FFP developed in this study can be implemented in the dairy industry, offering more stable, accurate quality monitoring predictions that align with real conditions, helping to avoid quality uncertainties during the production process. The implementation of this model in the industry has the potential to facilitate a broader, more transparent, and optimized product quality evaluation process, which can also be conducted in real time under continuous production conditions

The impacts of middle managers’ ambidexterity, continuous improvement, and organizational agility on business performance: a knowledge-based view

    No full text
Purpose: Using the knowledge-based view as the theoretical lens, this study aims to assess the effect of middle managers’ ambidexterity, continuous improvement and organizational agility on the business performance within the manufacturing and service industries. Design/methodology/approach: Quantitative survey was carried out using questionnaire whose data were collected from 197 middle managers’ responses collected in 2021. Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the direct and mediation relationships. Findings: The results demonstrated that the relationship between middle managers’ ambidexterity and business performance was insignificant but fully mediated by continuous improvement capacity and organizational agility. In both manufacturing and service sectors, our research also confirmed that middle managers have an important role in building continuous improvement capacity and organizational agility. The interchange between exploration and exploitation capabilities is an important competency that today’s middle managers should have. Originality/value: This study is amongst the first to investigate the phenomenon of middle managers’ ambidexterity in both manufacturing and service sectors from the knowledge-based view theory. The new knowledge is generated from the in-depth investigation of how middle managers interchangeably use their exploiting and exploring capabilities to achieve their business and operations performancesPeer Reviewe
