    The Systematic Review of Shariah Governance in Islamic Banking System: A Meta-Synthesis Approach

    The purpose of this systematic review is to analyze and discuss Shariah Governance in the Islamic banking system from multiple integrative studies. The following study as a meta-synthesis approach employs the ENTREQ technique based on the inductive reasoning approach synthesized selected studies for the issue of Shariah Governance in the form of secondary data. A qualitative analysis research method is used to discuss the given issue systematically. This study employs a meta-synthesis approach of 40 research papers with 4 themes - Shariah audit, Shariah risk, Shariah supervisory, and Shariah Board which are the functions of Shariah Governance. The systematic review of synthesizing finds that Shariah Governance in Islamic banking has its strengths and weaknesses in improving the stability and performance of the Islamic Banking system based on the Shariah compliance requirements. In addition, the result and discussion of the present systematic review have two sections: synthesis finding and synthesis evaluation

    Performance of Depositor Fund: a Lesson From Indonesian Islamic Banking System

    The objective of study is to analyze the performance of Depositor Fund in the operation of Islamic bank as an alternative banking sector in financial market based on the profit and loss mode of financing in the case of Indonesia. The research methodology is quantitative analysis based on the Multiple Regression. In the study secondary data is used and were collected from Annual Report of Islamic Banks. The sample of study is the bank, which is selected from 36 samples of Islamic Commercial Banks relates to non-probability purposive sampling method as a statistical research techniques. The result of study showed that the performance of Depositor Fund in the operation of Islamic banks has negative proficiency and otherwise the Islamic banks have weaknesses capability to improve the high ratio of increasing productivity Depositor Fund based on the financial ratio factors, which are analyzed.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v16i1.487

    The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Zakat Institutions through funding and training provided by amil zakat institutions and mustahiq's knowledge on the success of mustahiq businesses based on the perspective of maqashid sharia. This study uses Partial Least Square analysis techniques. The sample used in this study were 75 small-scale traders (Mustahiq) assisted by LAZNAS Al-Azhar and LAZNAS Dompet Dhuafa in the Bogor Regency and Depok, West Java. The results show that funding and training provided by LAZNAS Al-Azhar and LAZNAS Dompet Dhuafa and knowledge possessed by Mustahiq significantly influence the success of mustahiq businesses

    The Stability of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index to Economic Shocks

    The stock market has a strategic role in the development of a country's economy in the era of globalization, including the Islamic stock market. The rapid growth of the Islamic stock market, especially in developing countries, is a historical record in Indonesia's financial sector. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the return of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) in the short and long term, how long shocks occur, and how much the contribution of these factors. This study uses monthly time series data from January 2012 to December 2019 using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) method. VECM estimation results show the price of gold has a significant effect on the short and long term, while inflation has an impact on a long time. ISSI's return quickly reaches stability when it receives a shock from the exchange rate. The price of gold dominates the diversity of ISSI's performances. Stakeholders should consider several things that affect the ISSI return, pay attention to the economic climate, and anticipate quickly the shock that occurs

    Bitcoin vs gold: which one is the most powerful in boosting the shariah equity index? global evidence

    The study explores the most powerful between Bitcoin and Gold in boosting the Shariah Equity Index in Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, China, Indonesia, The United States of America (USA), Japan, Oman, and Saudi Arabia in the short and long term. The study uses analysis of the first and second stages of the Granger Causality Test and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), then Impulse Response Function (IRF) and Variance Decomposition (VDC) over the period 2013 to 2021. The finding proves that only Gold can affect the Islamic Equity Index in the short term, then Bitcoin and Gold proved to contribute equally to the Islamic Equity Index in the long term. However, Bitcoin has the potential to provide positively correlated shocks and dominate the value of Islamic equity indices in the long term. The results demonstrate that government intervention is decisive in maintaining the stability of the Shariah Equity Index from future Bitcoin threats.     Sharia insight factors: Does it matter to shift metropolitan decision behavior towards Islamic bank?

    The study explores more initial research to have a confident finding of factors that influence customer decision toward sharia bank. Understanding characteristics of metropolitan customer, and in the sense of fast growing of industrial 4.0 interact with democracy in Jakarta economic and political context. Thus, it is quite critical to ask a question again whether or not its exploratory factors meet confirmatory factors to influence decision of Islamic bank customer and which factors influence more. The survey uses questionnaire based to get useful insight. The result of exploratory factor analysis extracted the issues into 6 factors, namely office location characteristics, digitization feature of the product, sharia insight, bank marketing activities, servicescape quality and brand image. But based on these six factors, confirmation has found that the best fit of the model specification that influences metropolitan customer's decision is by excluding the sharia insight factor.
