This research focused on the portrayal of Muhammad as the world figure who described through two different authors’ viewpoints. Carlyle, a non-Muslim author, interpreted Muhammad based on the Christian point of view while Rizvi, a Muslim author, described Muhammad based on Muslim history. In conducting this study, Comparative Analysis by Steven Totosy de Zepetnek, Rene Wellek and Austin Warren used as a theory to find similarity and different aspects in two or more literary works. This research is formulated into three issues: 1) How is Muhammad portrayed in The Hero as Prophet by Thomas Carlyle? 2) How is Muhammad portrayed by The Life of Muhammad by Akhtar Rizvi? 3) What are the similarity and different aspects of Muhammad in The Hero as Prophet by Thomas Carlyle and The Life of Muhammad by Akhtar Rizvi? This research used qualitative research to make a subjective assessment through collecting data, analysis, interpretation and report writing. The result of this research is the similarity and different aspect in conveying the figure of Muhammad. The similarities consist of Muhammad’s family background, the story of marriage, mission and setting of place and time in the Muhammad’s story. Carlyle and Rizvi accepted Muhammad as the one who has influenced in spreading the divine concept for human being. However, both of them have different views in accepting Muhammad as the messenger of God. Carlyle did not believe in Muhammad as a prophet and regarded him as a hero in his age. While Rizvi believed Muhammad is a prophet, the bearer of truth. The other differences are also found in the style of writing. Carlyle used essay to elaborate his opinions, in his work, the researcher also found the usage of figurative language such as paradox and sarcasm. In other sides, Rizvi used historical biography that clearly explained Muhammad from his birth to death. The last is the analysis of point of view to know authors’ motif. Carlyle, seorang penulis non-Muslim, menginterpretasikan Muhammad berdasarkan sudut pandang orang Kristen. The Hero as Prophet karya Thomas Carlyle?

ABSTRACT This thesis aims to study and examine further the role of National Central Bureau (NCB)-Interpol Indonesia in handling criminal cases of money laundering in Indonesia. The case study highlighted was the case of Muhammad Nazaruddin and the case of Bank Century bailout involving two controlling shareholders, Rafat Ali Rizvi and Hesham Al-Warraq. Both of these cases illustrate two dimensions, namely the success of which is illustrated by the success of NCB Interpol Indonesia to repatriate Muhammad Nazaruddin, and failure is illustrated by the failure of INCB Interpol ndonesia in repatriating Rafat Ali Rizvi and Hesham al-Warraq. Keywords: NCB Interpol Indonesia, money laundering, Muhammad Nazaruddin, Rafat Ali Rizvi, Hesham A-Warra

A General-Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GPGPU)-Accelerated Robotic Controller Using a Low Power Mobile Platform

Robotic controllers have to execute various complex independent tasks repeatedly. Massive processing power is required by the motion controllers to compute the solution of these computationally intensive algorithms. General-purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU)-enabled mobile phones can be leveraged for acceleration of these motion controllers. Embedded GPUs can replace several dedicated computing boards by a single powerful and less power-consuming GPU. In this paper, the inverse kinematic algorithm based numeric controllers is proposed and realized using the GPGPU of a handheld mobile device. This work is the extension of a desktop GPU-accelerated robotic controller presented at DAS’16 where the comparative analysis of different sequential and concurrent controllers is discussed. First of all, the inverse kinematic algorithm is sequentially realized using Arduino-Due microcontroller and the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) is used for its parallel implementation. Execution speeds of these controllers are compared with two different GPGPU architectures (Nvidia Quadro K2200 and Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet), programmed with Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) computing language. Experimental data shows that the proposed mobile platform-based scheme outperform s the FPGA by 5 and boasts a 100 speedup over the Arduino-based sequential implementation

Language of signs is usually used by the deaf-mute persons in order to convey their message. But, it becomes very difficult for those who have no knowledge of the sign language. The aim of this research work is to resolve this problem using Digital Dactylology Converser (DOC) which is a device that converts a sign language into voice signal and text message. Primarily a hands gesture is recognised by computer vision program and based on that image a speech and text is played and displayed on the speaker and LCD respectively. Purpose of this device is to make conversation easy between dumb and the normal people around the world. In order to minimize their limitations and enable them to expand their boundaries, this is best suitable device. Experimental results verify the operational accuracy of the device for different users. The proposed device can work well and translates the letters, alphabets to text and soun
