This project aims to improve the efficiency of the traffic light management system by incorporating various smart city components and concepts. The system is intended to save time and electricity by improving key elements such as replacing traditional traffic lights with RGB lights, adding barricades to zebra crossings for pedestrian safety. Therefore, there are several sensors included in this project to ensure the aims are achieved. The sensor is DHT11 to determine the temperature and humidity for the weather forecast purposes. IR Sensor to detect the presence of vehicles on the platform. These inputs will be present in the output LCD. With this initiative, possibilities of human error can be eliminated, and it will also utilize the functionality of the traffic lights. This project utilizes both hardware and software part to achieve full efficiency. The software used for this project is Proteus 8. This part is the most crucial because it can help to reduce the errors and still give the chance to troubleshoot all the errors before applying to the hardware. This system will help to improve traffic management and improve overall efficiency in urban environments by implementing these enhancements and technologies, aligning with the vision of smart cities. There are few stages of completing this project, first is the design and development of the traffic light junction, the integration of the sensors and wireless technologies including the Internet of Things (IoT) component (NodeMCU), finally the testing and evaluation of the system’s functionality

Public Works Department (PWD) established in 1872 and directed by Major JFA McNair. Events that lead to the formation of the PWD began early in 1872 when the British East India Company (the trade between England, India, and China) require a good station to improve their trading ships in Penang. The main role of the mosque as a meeting place for Muslims, the administrative center and the diffusion of knowledge and zakat collection centers. However, the maintenance of the mosque not care by the mosque management and Religion Council. A study was carried out through the collection of information and data from interviews and questionnaires. This study was conducted at two mosques, which Masjid Muhammadi, Kota Bharu and Masjid Al-Sultan Ismail Petra, Kubang Kerian. The objective of this study is to identify the types of maintenance that was carried out at the mosque, to investigate of the damage complaint system at the mosque and to determine the level of user comfort against the maintenance management system conducted in the mosque. Questionnaires were distributed at both of the mosques. The results of the analysis found that the type of maintenance often performed is routine maintenance. While, damage reporting system is through direct meetings with the management of the mosque is more effective. The satisfaction level of respondents at the Masjid Muhammadi is satisfactory. While at the Masjid Al-Sultan Ismail Petra at less satisfactory level

Effectual forms of chicken eggshell to improve soil pH and exchangeable bases (K, Ca and Mg) of peat soil / Muhammad Nazif Hussin

    Get PDF
Low soil pH is one of the synonym characteristics of peat soils which restricted the nutrient availability in the soils. Even though the liming application using either agriculture lime, burned lime or hydrated lime is quite common in Malaysia, there is a potential of chicken eggshell to become a substitution for these types of lime, especially in a small scale agricultural area. This study intends to determine the exchangeable bases concentration of chicken eggshell in powder, liquid and crumb forms as well as to evaluate the effects on soil pH. The results were compared to the calcium carbonate (CaCOɜ) lime to evaluate the effectiveness of the chicken eggshells. From this study, the findings showed that the chicken eggshell in powdered form has significant effects in improving peat soil pH and calcium (Ca) concentration compared to other treatments. It is suggested that the chicken eggshell in powdered forms may have a potential as a substitution of lime with lower cost

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    Get PDF
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
