No full text Kohesi sosial dapat dipahami sebagai kesatuan, keutuhan, dan kekompakan untuk menjaga anggota kelompok tetap hidup dalam suatu komunitas. Kohesi sosial masyarakat di sepuluh desa yang dijadikan sampel (selanjutnya disebut desa sampel) tergolong tinggi karena hampir semuanya memberikan nilai yang signifikan dalam pemanfaatan sumber daya yang ada di sekitar desa. Tiga komponen utama indikator sense of community mewakili tingkat kohesi sosial dalam masyarakat di desa sampel, yaitu keterlibatan anggota, pemberian pengaruh, dan berbagi kontak emosional. Kohesi sosial merupakan pilar utama dalam pembangunan ekonomi desa; dukungan jaringan, solidaritas, dan kekeluargaan yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat desa merupakan elemen pendukung utama dalam pertukaran ekonomi, penguatan ekonomi, dan pemberdayaan ekonomi. Dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dasar hidup, persoalan substansial yang selalu dihadapi oleh sebuah keluarga atau rumah tangga adalah bagaimana individu-individu di dalamnya dapat berusaha semaksimal mungkin dan dapat bekerja sama untuk memenuhi kebutuhan rumah tangga sehingga kelangsungan hidupnya tetap terjaga dan model relevansi strategi adaptasi menjadi model dalam menjawab permasalahan pembangunan ekonomi pedesaan. </p
The Phenomenon of Changes in Social Relationship Patterns and Eating Habits That Occurred in the Eucalyptus Oil Farmer Community During the COVID-19 Pandemic
No full textEucalyptus oil farmers in Buru Regency, Indonesia, are concerned about the COVID-19 outbreak. Various unfavour-able situations endanger society's social economy and impair social ties in their socio-cultural existence. This study uses pre-existing social networks and eating habits to examine eucalyptus oil growers' everyday survival efforts. The method is qualitative and phenomenological. Examine informant data using three criteria: eucalyptus oil growers, non-farmers who own land, and non-farmers who buy oil from farmers or landowners. The study found that the epi-demic has rationalized long-standing social networks and forced eucalyptus oil farmers to forgo subsistence and adopt a more functional rhythm. Suspicion, instability, and mutual suspicion result from reasonable interactions, cre-ating conflict. When the epidemic compels eucalyptus oil farmers to conform, emotional bonds erode. This study also changed eating habits to prioritize "availability and availability" over local culture. Eucalyptus oil farmers' rational con-sumption choices led to a shift from conventional to rational. Reading movement in community: A study of Gerakan Buru Membaca
No full textThe Buru Reading Movement (Gerakan Buru Membaca) was an initiative of Iqra Buru University community service and developed later into one of the Buru District Government programs, which have been implemented since 2017. The program was designed to improve and promote the community’s reading habits in Buru Regency, Maluku, Indonesia. This was a qualitative study aimed at describing the implementation of Gerakan Buru Membaca in Buru Regency. The research located in Namlea District because of its relatively high population density and heterogeneity. There were forty people interviewed, and this number was obtained through purposive sampling. We employed an analysis technique proposed by Miles and Huberman. The results revealed that the reading movement received a positive response from the community and the village government. The active role is implemented through the provision of village libraries, study rooms, and study houses of learning available. Furthermore, a mobile library, which was only available in the Namlea Village area, prioritized its services in open or public spaces. In other villages, however, the movement was still in the form of reading and learning spaces provided by the village government, with the participation of the community. Despite the positive response from the community, the movement still experienced several constraints.
PEMANFAATAN HOTONG MENJADI TEPUNG SEBAGAI SUMBER PENDAPATAN RUMAH TANGGA PETANI
No full textKabupaten Buru merupakan penghasil hotong terbesar di provinsi Maluku. Sebagai daerah penghasil hotong banyak petani yang menggantungkan mata pencaharian dengan membudidayakan tanaman tersebut. Dilihat dari manfaatnya, hotong merupakan jenis makanan sehat yang rendah lemak yang baik dikonsumsi oleh segala usia. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk membantu petani hotong meningkatkan nilai jual hotong yang dihasilkan dengan mengolah hasil panen hotong menjadi tepung. Pengolahan tepung hotong diharapkan dapat meningkatkan perekonomian rumah tangga petani karena selama ini hotong hanya dijual dalam keadaan mentah kepada pengepul atau pembeli langsung dengan harga murah, serta hasil produksi tidak seluruhnya terjual habis. Selain itu mitra akan dibantu dalam hal pengadaan tepung, pengemasan dan pemasaran produk olahan hotong dengan harapan dapat menigkatkan kesejahteraan petani hotong. Kendala yang dihadapi mitra yaitu setiap masa panen hasil pemasaran hotong tidak selalu mencapai nilai maksimal selalu menyisakan hasil produksi hotong yang tidak terjual mencapai 35 persen dan akhirnya dikonsumsi sendiri padahal untuk memproduksi hotong bisa mencapai 4-5 bulan. Permasalahan produk yang dijual dalam bentuk mentah akibat rendahnya pengetahuan petani hotong dalam melakukan diversifikasi hasil pertanian. Kegiatan dilakukan pada program PKM ini berupa pengembangan, antara lain: pelatihan pembuatan tepung serta pemanfaatan tepung hotong sebagai bahan pembuatan kue, upaya ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi kerugian petani akibat rendahnya distribusi hasil panen. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan bertambahnya pengetahuan kelompok petani hotong dalam mengolah hasil panen dalam bentuk tepung serta pengayaan pengetahuan dalam pemanfaatan hotong sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan kue. Kondisi ini diharapkan menjadi pemicu berkembangnya usaha pembuatan tepung hotong yang menguntungkan serta berkelanjutan.
Shifting Livelihoods of Farmers in Namlea City
No full textAs a result of land conversion into infrastructure development areas, cultivated land in Namlea Village has decreased which hurts farmers' ability to earn a living. Changes in land function are the primary source of problems because they reduce farmers' production. This study aimed to determine how farmers' efforts to diversify sources of income and adapt to urban changes have affected their agricultural land. This study uses a qualitative approach, and the number of informants to be interviewed was 18 people, who were interviewed purposefully. The informants surveyed in Namlea Village, Buru Regency, were farmers, housewives, community leaders, traditional leaders, and religious leaders. The data for this study were collected through in-depth interviews and observation methods. This study concluded that the shift in farmers' livelihoods as an impact of land conversion is carried out so that farmers' productivity is decreasing, as well as farmers'. To overcome the effect of land conversion in Namlea Village, the efforts needed are to encourage diversification of farmers' income through side business training, develop sustainable agribusiness, and provide access to capital and technology for production efficiency and wise land use planning, community empowerment in decision making, and social protection programs for farmers are also important
