Analyzing Advancement in Crowdfunding Research and Envisioning its Future: A Bibliometric Approach

Please contact the author(s) directly for the full papers.Crowdfunding represents an emerging alternative means of marshaling resources which may prove to be a game-changer in the entrepreneurial finance landscape. Although the rapid growth in this field has yielded a multidisciplinary body of work, the scaffolding of this vast body of work is still largely unknown in the scholarly domain. We conduct a bibliometric analysis of 534 crowdfunding articles to uncover the intellectual landscape of crowdfunding research. Our comprehensive co-citation analysis reveals two generations of crowdfunding research, identifies the most researched themes in area, and highlights its theoretical and disciplinary anchors. In addition, our bibliographic cartography traces the shifts in areas of interest of scholars within the heterogeneous field. Overall, our critical analysis of the most influential conversations in crowdfunding research helps reveals gaps in the extant literature which act as fertile directions for its future inquiry
mHealth in Physical Therapy Practice: What Consumers Want?
Purpose: Health-care delivery mode system has been evolving over the years. There has been an increase in adoption of mHealth technologies by health-care clients and providers. Physical Therapy and Society Summit (PASS) was sponsored by APTA in 2009. It envisioned current, evolving, and future health care needs that could be addressed by physical therapist. Recent COVID-19 pandemic has modified ways of working and addressing various needs for health care. This has led to adding finding new strategies to establish new normal of functioning. The focus should be on adding value-based practice with the consumers as key stakeholders. Thus, the authors aim to provide a literature review framework for mHealth in physical therapy practice and also understand consumer behavior and what are their wants from this emerging mode of health-care delivery. Methodology: Literature was assessed by comprehensive computerized search from January 2020 to July 2020 form multiple databases. In addition, to increase the search accuracy, reference lists of articles were also searched. Forty-six free; full-text articles, systematic reviews, RCT’s, health policy perspectives, global surveys, and guidelines were included for the literature review frame work. Consumer behavior and needs were assessed using a designed questionnaire through online survey sent through various social platforms. Conclusion: mHealth is a definite evolving change in physical therapy practice. Focus should be on Android-based application for a probable 85% target population. Self-assessments, treatment interventions, activity tracking, and report documentation are the key features consumers look for
RESPONSE TO 6 MINUTE WALK TEST IN HEALTHY ADULTS
Background: 6Minute walk test (MWT) has been used as a performance based measure of functional exercise capacity in all populations including healthy adults. 6MWT is recommended out of other all timed walked tests due to its reproducibility and ease of administration compared to other longer or shorter time duration tests. It detects changes following interventions to improve exercise tolerance in healthy individuals, to assess the fitness level, used as intervention to improve walking endurance and as predictor of objectively measured aerobic fitness in healthy adults. It is essential to know a level of fitness healthy adults possess in our community, thus aim of this study was to evaluate response to 6MWT in young healthy adults.
Method: 50 healthy individuals (25 males and 25 females) of 18 - 30 years of age were recruited. The 6MWT was performed as per standard guidelines. All subjects were assessed for the outcome measures by principal investigator at baseline i.e. before and post- 6MWT for following parameters. BP, PR, RR, SPO2, RPE.
Results: The mean 6 minute walked distance (6MWD) was 635.6+59.07, for men it was 675.0+46.88 and for women it was 596.5+41.41. Out of study population 18% of people covered 70%-80%, 54% people covered 80%-90% and 28% people covered 90%-100% of their predicted distance. Oxygen saturation remained unaltered throughout the walk. Mean resting and walking spo2 values were 96.80+13.55% and 96.71+13.55% (p-value: 0.2288). Pulse rate (PR) and respiratory rate (RR) were affected by the walk. Mean resting and walking PR was 79.82+9.18 and 142.6+19.62 (p-value: 0.0001) and RR was 18.48+2.78 and 30.20+4.35 (p-value: 0.0001) respectively. Mean resting and walking systolic and diastolic blood pressure was significantly higher in males as compared to females.
Conclusion: The 6 minute walk test is a useful measure of functional capacity in healthy adults. There was a difference between predicted distance covered and actual distance covered at the end of 6 minute walk test in study population. There was a significant difference between responses of males and females elicited during 6 MWT
“Potential Mobile Application and Integrated Device for Measuring Respiratory Function”: A Systemic Review
Background: Individuals with respiratory problems must participate in a rehabilitation program to enhance their quality of life and learn how to self-manage their illness at any age.
The addition of low to moderate-intensity daily physical activity increases fitness and respiratory muscle endurance.
Some specifications were found for a smartphone application allowing patients to receive automated feedback and remote help while exercising. Applications for mobile phones that track, help, and document fitness metrics have emerged as a practical and useful intervention.
Method: We looked through PubMed, Web of Science (SCI), Research Gate, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar for pertinent papers released in the last 10 years, from 2012 to 2022.
Finally, this analysis included publications containing randomised controlled trials (RCTs).
Result: Very a small number of studies are available on the usage of mobile phone applications and innovative devices to access respiratory function
Effectiveness of Mobile-based Physiotherapy Application in Managing Neck Pain
Background: Neck pain is becoming a major public health issue, with an increase in the burden of health expenses both in terms of personal health and well-being. Office professionals are identified as a specific population at high risk of developing neck pain, with one-year prevalence rates much higher than in the general population. Self-care is essential in today\u27s overspeeding lifestyle. Healthy coping mechanisms are needed to have a balanced personal and professional life. There is a need to incorporate patient-centred and patient-driven care. Mobile application in healthcare management is an emerging healthcare innovation. Its functionality strongly impacts assessing symptoms, lifestyle monitoring, administering treatment programs, and clinical and administrative data collection. The potential of mHealth to reach anytime anywhere surpassing geographical and temporal barriers making it a preferred choice of healthcare delivery mode among patients and healthcare professionals. However, only a few mobile applications in healthcare management have scientific evidence.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to test the efficacy of the developed mobile-based Physiotherapy application for neck pain in office professionals.
Methodology: An experimental descriptive study, where volunteers were selected based on selection criteria, Office professionals with neck pain of non-traumatic origin, and age between 18 to 59 years both male and female. They were assessed for outcome measures and subsequently received the designed intervention protocol through the mobile application. Total 12 sessions for 2 weeks.
Results: Participants who used the mobile application reported a significant reduction in neck pain, as showed by a decrease in the Numerical Pain Rating Scale scores (p<0.0001). There was also a notable improvement in the Neck Disability score, with a 4-point reduction (p<0.0001). Additionally, participants showed improved Postural Awareness and Positive Functioning Inventory scores (p<0.0001).
Conclusion: This study proves the positive effect of the developed mobile-based physiotherapy application for neck pain. The promising results suggest the need for further investigations, including randomized controlled trials, to explore the effectiveness of mobile applications compared to routine clinical care
ASSESSMENT AND COMPARISION OF CERVICAL JOINT POSITION SENSE IN SUBJECTS WITH CHRONIC NECK PAIN vs NORMALS
Background: The abundance of mechanoreceptors in the cervical spine and their central and reflex afferent connections to the vestibular, visual and postural control system suggests that the cervical proprioceptive information provides important somatosensory information influencing postural stability, head orientation and eye movement control. Disturbances to the afferent input from the cervical region is thought to underlie symptoms of dizziness, unsteadiness, visual disturbances and signs of altered postural stability, cervical proprioception and head and eye movement control in people with chronic neck pain. This study aimed to assess and compare cervical joint position sense in subjects with chronic neck pain vs normals.
Methods: Total 60 subjects, divided into two groups chronic neck pain group (n=30) (12 males and 18 females with mean age of 40.7 years) and control group (n=30) with age and gender matched normal individuals were assessed for baseline data and demographic variables. Head repositioning accuracy test was used to assess cervical joint position sense in degrees.
Results: The difference in the head repositioning error values were found to be extremely significant (p<0.0001) for all the neck movements for subjects with chronic neck pain as compared to normals.
Conclusion: Cervical joint position sense in subjects with chronic neck pain is found to be altered as compared to age and gender matched normals
Evaluating Align\u27s Effectiveness as a Telemedicine Physical Therapy App for Treating Neck Pain in Office Workers
Background: With rising healthcare costs that affect each patient\u27s health and well-being, neck pain is emerging as a significant public health concern. One-year prevalence rates of cervical pain are significantly greater in computer professionals than in the overall population, indicating that they represent a particular population at high risk of developing neck discomfort. Patient-driven and patient-centred treatment must be included. One new development in healthcare is the use of mobile applications for management. The ability of mobile health (mHealth) to transcend geographical and temporal limitations and reach patients and healthcare professionals at any time and place makes it a preferred way of healthcare delivery. Nevertheless, there is scientific evidence for only a few mobile healthcare management applications.
Objectives: To evaluate the usability and effectiveness of “Align” a mobile-based physical therapy application for treating office workers\u27 neck pain.
Methodology: Participants in this experimental descriptive study were enrolled after being assessed for inclusion criteria, and had pre- and post-assessments for outcome measurements, after which the intervention protocol was obtained via the smartphone mobile app. Twelve sessions in total over two weeks.
Results: A decrease in the Numerical Pain Rating Scale scores (p<0.005) indicated a significant reduction in neck pain among the participants (N=107) who finished the intervention protocol. The Neck Disability score also showed a significant improvement, dropping by 4 points (p<0.005). Participants also demonstrated higher Positive Functioning Inventory and Postural Awareness scores (p<0.005).
Conclusion: This study demonstrates the beneficial effects of the created mobile application for physical therapy for neck pain. The encouraging outcomes point to the necessity of additional research, such as randomised controlled trials, to determine how beneficial mobile applications are compared to standard clinical care.
