No full textCO2 chemisorption at ambient temp. on a via-chloride anatase prepn. was investigated by microgravimetry and IR spectroscopy. Besides a CO2 species linearly held at surface acidic sites, different types of carbonate-like species were formed, revealing the existence of surface basic sites. The nature of surface carbonates varied on varying the sample activation temp. The overall chemisorbed amt. was quite small, indicating that very little surface basicity can be evidenced by a soft acid like CO2. The activity of surface oxygens depends strongly on the hydration degree, as well as on the preadsorption of polar mols., indicating that anatase surface basicity is influenced by the overall polarity of the surface layer

No full textBioactive glasses containing gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have been synthesized via the sol-gel route usingHAuCl4 x 3H2O as gold precursor. The formation process of AuNPs was studied as a function of the thermal treatment,which induces nucleation of Au particles and influences their nature, optical properties, shape, size, and distribution.The physicochemical characterization indicates that the sample treated at 600 °C presents the best characteristics to beused as a bioactive material, namely high surface area, high amount of AuNPs located at the glass surface, presence ofmicropores, and abundant surface OH groups. In the case of samples either aged at 60 °C or calcined at 150 °C, AuNPsjust begin their formation, and at this stage the gel is not completely polymerized and dried yet. A thermal treatment athigher temperatures (900 °C) causes the aggregation of AuNPs, forming “AuMPs” (i.e., Au microparticles) in adensified glass-ceramic material with low surface area, absence of pores, and low number of surface OH groups. Thesefeatures induce in the glass-ceramic materials treated at high-temperatures a lower bioactivity (evidenced by SBFreaction), as compared with that exhibited by the glass samples treated at 600 °C

No full textThe paper focuses on the forms of cooperation between authors and their translator(s) in all cases in which the two operate simultaneously. This issue is explored on the example of the Trieste-born author Claudio Magris, who cultivates a very close relationship with most of his translators.
Writing and translation have been coexisting in this author throughout his career and have resulted in the heightened sensitivity of Magris the author with regards to translation, as the first part of the analysis shows. The second part describes the dialogue between Magris and the translators of his works, and ends with the more general question of the significance and role of such a form of exchange

No full textThe purpose of this paper is to study the poetics of Claudio Rodríguez, delimiting its components and trying to clarify them and to present them as a whole. The author left some pages written on his conception of poetry that encourage reflection and, in some cases, interpretation. So with his conception of poetry as a gift and inebriation, as an alliance and condemnation or celebration (giving title to his collections of poems), or with notions such as «participation», «living contemplation», «living expression » or «personal rhythm» that make up his way of understanding the poetic process.El propósito de este artículo es estudiar la poética de Claudio Rodríguez, deslindando sus componentes y tratando de clarificarlos y presentarlos en su conjunto. El autor dejó escritas algunas páginas sobre su concepción de la poesía que animan a la reflexión y, en algunos casos, a la interpretación. Así sucede con su concepción de la poesía como un don y una ebriedad, como alianza y condena o como celebración (que dan título a sus poemarios), o con nociones como las de «participación», «contemplación viva», «expresión viva» o «ritmo personal», que configuran su forma de entender el proceso poético
