On Chaotic Attractors Whose Basins of Attraction Coincide With the Whole Space

Volkova: ORCID 0009-0008-1113-3868.ENG: A new type of chaotic attractors, whose basin of attraction is the entire phase space, is considered. The main difference between these attractors and the known ones is that any trajectory starting from the basin of attraction first enters a unique transport channel (which is a straight line), and then the trajectory reaches the attractor itself along this channel. For any quadratic dynamic system generating the mentioned attractor, a new concept of a uniquely defined degenerate autonomous quadratic dynamic system with exactly one real double equilibrium point is introduced. It is shown that if the degenerate system exhibits chaotic behavior, then the original (non-degenerate) system also exhibits similar chaotic behavior
Acceptance conditions in automated negotiation
In every negotiation with a deadline, one of the negotiating parties has to accept an offer to avoid a break off. A break off is usually an undesirable outcome for both parties, therefore it is important that a negotiator employs a proficient mechanism to decide under which conditions to accept. When designing such conditions one is faced with the acceptance dilemma: accepting the current offer may be suboptimal, as better offers may still be presented. On the other hand, accepting too late may prevent an agreement from being reached, resulting in a break off with no gain for either party. Motivated by the challenges of bilateral negotiations between automated agents and by the results and insights of the automated negotiating agents competition (ANAC), we classify and compare state-of-the-art generic acceptance conditions. We focus on decoupled acceptance conditions, i.e. conditions that do not depend on the bidding strategy that is used. We performed extensive experiments to compare the performance of acceptance conditions in combination with a broad range of bidding strategies and negotiation domains. Furthermore we propose new acceptance conditions and we demonstrate that they outperform the other conditions that we study. In particular, it is shown that they outperform the standard acceptance condition of comparing the current offer with the offer the agent is ready to send out. We also provide insight in to why some conditions work better than others and investigate correlations between the properties of the negotiation environment and the efficacy of acceptance conditions.MediamaticsElectrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
GENIUS: An integrated environment for supporting the design of generic automated negotiators
The design of automated negotiators has been the focus of abundant research in recent years. However, due to difficulties involved in creating generalized agents that can negotiate in several domains and against human counterparts, many automated negotiators are domain specific and their behavior cannot be generalized for other domains. Some of these difficulties arise from the differences inherent within the domains, the need to understand and learn negotiators’ diverse preferences concerning issues of the domain, and the different strategies negotiators can undertake. In this paper we present a system that enables alleviation of the difficulties in the design process of general automated negotiators termed GENIUS, a General Environment for Negotiation with Intelligent multipurpose Usage Simulation. With the constant introduction of new domains, e-commerce and other applications, which require automated negotiations, generic automated negotiators encompass many benefits and advantages over agents that are designed for a specific domain. Based on experiments conducted with automated agents designed by human subjects using GENIUS we provide both quantitative and qualitative results to illustrate its efficacy. Finally, we also analyze a recent automated bilateral negotiators competition that was based on GENIUS. Свобода/воля як гідність в українській класичній драматургії ХІХ століття
The paper deals with the approaches of Ukrainian playwrights to the defining values that underlie the Ukrainian national mentality: freedom, dignity, truth, honor, and faith.
Russian imperial authorities did not recognize the Ukrainians as a separate nation in the 19th century, and struggled against “separatism”, in particular by forbidding the production of plays in Ukrainian, the book printing, and even the importation of such books from abroad. Nevertheless the Ukrainian authors ignored those prohibitions and instructions/demands to show only peasants and their lives on the stage, and wrote works abundant in love for their native Ukraine and national self-respect, attention to the history of Ukrainians and their struggle for freedom and dignity. These works contributed to preserving the historical memory of the people and offered the specific Ukrainian perception of the world. The artists used every opportunity to play performances, which created positive heroic images of Cossacks-patriots, artistically interpreted complex problems in tragic historical situations.
Developing the traditions initiated by Taras Shevchenko, the authors contemplated the moral and political principles realized in the activities of the characters associated with Ukrainian history. (Some of them, such as Ivan Mazepa, Dmytro Vyshnevetskyi, are real historical figures; Gandzia and Sava Chalyi are semi-legendary persons; Tetiana Bondarivna is a heroine of the folk song.) These principles form the ideological and thematic essence of the two tragedies with the same title “Sava Chalyi” by M. Kostomarov and I. Tobilevych (I. Karpenko-Karyi), “Pereyaslav Night” by M. Kostomarov, “Bayda, Prince Vyshnevetskyi” by P. Kulish, and are also important in such works by I. Tobilevych as “Bondarivna”, “Gandzia”, “Mazepa”.
A detailed analysis of the tragedies “Sava Chalyi” by M. Kostomarov and I. Tobilevych reveals that the romantic work of the former writer shows the character as a victim of circumstances and intrigues. In the realistic work of the latter playwright, it has been proved by artistic means that reaching a compromise in relations with an insidious conqueror is impossible, since such attempts lead an honest, trusting person to treason, and hence to dishonor.У статті простежується утвердження у творах українських драматургів (написаних після відомого Емського царського указу 1876 р.) високих козацько-лицарських ідеалів свободи, гідності, правди, честі. Asymptotic, Algorithmic and Geometric Aspects of Groups Generated by Automata
This dissertation is devoted to various aspects of groups generated by automata. We
study particular classes and examples of such groups from different points of view. It
consists of four main parts.
In the first part we study Sushchansky p-groups introduced in 1979 by
Sushchansky in "Periodic permutation p-groups and the unrestricted Burnside
problem". These groups represent one of the earliest examples of Burnside groups
and, at the same time, show the potential of the class of groups generated by automata
to contain groups with extraordinary properties. The original definition is translated
into the language of automata. The original actions of Sushchansky groups on p-
ary tree are not level-transitive and we describe their orbit trees. This allows us
to simplify the definition and prove that these groups admit faithful level-transitive
actions on the same tree. Certain branch structures in their self-similar closures
are established. We provide the connection with so-called G groups introduced by
Bartholdi, Grigorchuk and Suninc in "Branch groups" that shows that all Sushchansky
groups have intermediate growth and allows us to obtain an upper bound on their
period growth functions.
The second part is devoted to the opposite question of realization of known
groups as groups generated by automata. We construct a family of automata with n states, n greater than or equal to 4, acting on a rooted binary tree and generating the free products of
cyclic groups of order 2.
The iterated monodromy group IMG(z2+i) of the self-map of the complex plain
z -> z2 + i is the central object of the third part of dissertation. This group acts
faithfully on the binary rooted tree and is generated by 4-state automaton. We provide
a self-similar measure for this group giving alternative proof of its amenability. We
also compute an L-presentation for IMG(z2+i) and provide calculations related to the
spectrum of the Markov operator on the Schreier graph of the action of IMG(z2 + i)
on the orbit of a point on the boundary of the binary rooted tree.
Finally, the last part is discussing the package AutomGrp for GAP system developed
jointly by the author and Yevgen Muntyan. This is a very useful tool for studying
the groups generated by automata from the computational point of view. Main
functionality and applications are provided
Homoclinic and Heteroclinic Neural Odes: Theory and Its Use to Construct New Chaotic Attractors

Оценка потерь в компенсации помех при формировании обучающей выборки частотным методом
Проблематика. При впливі комбінованих завад ефективність функціонування радіолокаційної станції істотно погіршується. Це обумовлено декорреляцією активної шумової завади пасивною завадою, котра має просторово-розподілений спектр. Для зменшення впливу пасивної завади на процес компенсації активної шумової завади необхідно тим чи іншим чином сформувати класифікаційну навчаючу вибірку, породжену тільки активною завадою, і оцінити можливі втрати, які при цьому виникають.
Мета. Оцінка втрат при адаптивній просторовій фільтрації активної складової комбінованої завади при частотному методі формування класифікаційної навчаючої вибірки.
Методи. Аналітичний метод оцінки втрат спільно з методом імітаційного моделювання.
Результати. Виконано оцінку втрат в компенсації активної шумової завади, які виникають при різних значеннях бази антенної системи і ширини спектра завади, котра надходить з різних кутових напрямків. Оцінені втрати, зумовлені запровадженням режекторних фільтрів в ланцюзі формування вагового коефіцієнта автокомпенсатора.
Висновки. Наукова новизна полягає в оцінці втрат в компенсації активної шумової завади при просторовій фільтрації сигналів з використанням частотного методу формування класифікаційної навчаючої вибірки. Практична значимість полягає в можливості вибору параметрів системи завадозахисту при проектуванні радіолокаційної станції.Background. Under the influence of combined interference, the effectiveness of radar performance significantly deteriorates. This is preconditioned by decorrelation of active noise interference by passive one that has a spatially distributed spectrum. To reduce the influence of passive interference on the active interference compensation process, it is necessary in one way or another to form a classified training sample generated only by the active interference and to assess the possible losses that arise with this case.
Objective. The aim of the paper is to estimate losses for the case of adaptive spatial filtering of the active component of combined interference in the frequency method of generating a classified training sample.
Methods. Analytical method of losses estimation simultaneously with the method of simulation.
Results. The estimation of losses in compensation of active interference arising for different values of the base and the width of the interference spectrum coming from different angular directions has been made. The losses have been estimated which were preconditioned with introduction of notch filters in the chain for forming the weight factor of the autocompensator are estimated.
Conclusions. The scientific novelty is the possibility to estimate the losses in active interference compensation in spatial signal filtering using the frequency method of classified training sample generation. The practical significance is to provide the possibility to choose parameters of the jamming system when designing the radar.Проблематика. При воздействии комбинированных помех эффективность функционирования радиолокационной станции существенно ухудшается. Это обусловлено декорреляцией активной шумовой помехи пассивной помехой, имеющей пространственно-распределенный спектр. Для уменьшения влияния пассивной помехи на процесс компенсации активной шумовой помехи необходимо тем или иным образом сформировать классифицированную обучающую выборку, порожденную только активной помехой, и оценить возможные потери, которые при этом возникают.
Цель. Оценка потерь при адаптивной пространственной фильтрации активной составляющей комбинированной помехи при частотном методе формирования классифицированной обучающей выборки. Методы. Аналитический метод оценки потерь совместно с методом имитационного моделирования.
Результаты. Выполнена оценка потерь в компенсации активной шумовой помехи, возникающих при различных значениях базы антенной системы и ширины спектра помехи, поступающей с различных угловых направлений. Оценены потери, обусловленные введением режекторных фильтров в цепи формирования весового коэффициента автокомпенсатора.
Выводы. Научная новизна состоит в оценке потерь в компенсации активной шумовой помехи при пространственной фильтрации сигналов с использованием частотного метода формирования классифицированной обучающей выборки. Практическая значимость состоит в возможности выбора параметров системы помехозащиты при проектировании РЛС
