de la documentación, Duperier fue el autor de la actual reja del presbiterio de la catedral de
Coria, sumándose así a un catálogo en el que se encuentran magníficas realizaciones en la cate-
dral de Salamanca, el palacio episcopal de Ávila, la parroquial y palacio de Piedrahíta y el convento de la Anunciación de Nuestra Señora de Carmelitas Descalzas de Alba de Tormes, siendo nexo de unión entre la mayor parte de ellas su relación con los duques de Alba.This article presents the first full approach to the work of the excellent rood screen maker P. J. Duperier, and is based on his known works as well as on unpublished documents found. The author intends to present a group of works made by this craftsman and to take a first move towards the knowledge of his whole work, which can be completed from now on. As stated in the documents, Duperier is the author of the rood screen found in the presbytery of the Coria Cathedral, which is now included in a catalogue which also includes other magnificent works found in the Salamanca Cathedral, in the Episcopal palace in Ávila, in the parish church and the palace in Piedrahíta and in the convent of Anunciación de Nuestra Señora of the discalced Carmelites, in Alba de Tormes. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. especialmente a aquellas en que intervino Juan Guas, proponiéndose nuevas relaciones que podrían ayudar a esclarecer
su intervención en otras obras como el convento de Santo Tomás. Se aportan datos referidos al desaparecido claustro y sus
dependencias durante la Edad Moderna, así como a su transformación en los siglos XIX y XX. Se plantea la hipótesis de
la pertenencia de una pintura atribuida a Sansón Florentino a la capilla de San Antonio y se dan a conocer desaparecidos
retablos inéditos junto a sus autores.[EN] The article offers unpublished data from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. The date of its first
documentary appearance is specified, linking it to the primitive construction of the temple. In the process of addition
of chapels, special attention is paid to those in which Juan Guas intervened, proposing new relations that could help to
clarify his intervention in other works like the convent of Santo Tomás. Data are provided on the disappeared cloister and
its dependencies during the Modern Age, as well as on its transformation in the 19th and 20th centuries. The hypothesis
of the belonging of a painting attributed to Sansón Florentino to the chapel of San Antonio is raised, and unpublished
altarpieces that have disappeared are revealed together with their authors

No full textBetween 1366 and the 19thcentury, the town of Piedrahíta (Ávila) belonged to the House of Alba, becoming one of the heads of the Lordship of Valdecorneja. After completing its walling in the 15thcentury, important maintenance works were carried out throughout the following centuries, including the inevitable repairs and the opening of new portals and other minor accesses. In this article, unpublished data are provided in relation to them, clarifying the authorship and chronology of the only two accesses currently preserved. Likewise, new information is provided regarding its layout and the gradual process of deterioration and partial loss.Desde el año 1366 y hasta el siglo XIX, la localidad de Piedrahíta (Ávila) perteneció a la Casa de Alba, constituyéndose en una de las villas cabecera del Señorío de Valdecorneja. Tras culminar su amurallamiento en el siglo XV, se hicieron importantes obras de mantenimiento a lo largo de los siglos siguientes, incluyendo los inevitables reparos y la apertura de nuevas puertas y otros accesos menores. use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Tras una primera aproximación a la documentación original, se recurre al uso de una fuente primaria como es el Catastro de Ensenada para localizar información relevante que ayude al alumnado a construir conocimiento histórico, con el valor añadido de que en gran número de ocasiones éste será inédito.
