As instrumentações propostas para os equipamentos do LMS acrescentaram em qualidade e precisão de dados, e os resultados geotécnicos apontaram comportamentos ímpares nos solos da obra do AeroportoAfter surveying the situation in some municipals Brazilian with respect to production and processing of spatial data, it was detected the lack of infrastructure, of information, and therefore the lack of mechanisms to support collaborative for data mining and spatial analysis. The difficulties increase with the spread of different structures of spatial data standards like ie: CAD / GIS produced by the rapid advancement of information technology, and real challenges to implementation of an interoperable infrastructure and it focus of several discussions. However access to this data via the Internet and the problems caused in the same exchange are directly related to the particular nature of each standard adopted, so it they should must be analyzed and appropriate for collaboration. Initially, the hypothesis of the study aims to enhance interoperability between spatial data and systems integration, making it possible to establish communication channels for a collaborative environment aimed at potential and cooperative actions. From this, the study presents an investigation into the relevant aspects that influence the projects engineering, resulting in the development of the prototype called OpenCGFW (Collaborative Geospatial Framework Web), to the recognition of structures, integration, manipulation and collaboration, in tuning with efforts GSDI-INDE, OGC and W3C. Initially, studies and reviews on subjects directly related to interoperability. Are also discussed issues related to storage, processing between collaboration computational and specifically geographic data produced by different public institutions. For construction of the framework was applied MCDA-C method (Multicriteria Decision Aid - Constructivist) to identify the fundamental and elementary. From this work also describes the results obtained in implementing the steps of a design pattern to support the activities and evaluating free geo-solutions. During the discussion, are present the results through experiments and applications of the web mapping for digital maps to integrate multiple databases distributed of the multipurpose cadaster and use of the main techniques of spatial data mining. At the end, the work discusses the hypothesis and the contribution of research, mainly to meet the regional characteristics, seeking to contribute to the technological advancement of the country intensifying the use of open standards, the free geo-solutions collaboration and knowledge managemen
Atypical moles
Atypical moles can be distinguished visually by clinical features of size greater than 6 mm in diameter, color variegation, indistinct borders, and textured surface. All patients who have atypical moles should be counselled about sun avoidance, screening of family members, and regular skin checks at least once per year. Total body photography and dermoscopy can aid in regular skin monitoring for changes in atypical moles and the emergence of new lesions. The presence of multiple atypical moles increases the risk of melanoma. The greatest risk of melanoma is in patients who have more than 50 atypical moles and two or more family members with melanoma (familial atypical mole and melanoma syndrome). Atypical moles should be removed when they have features suggestive of malignant transformation. Elliptical excision is the preferred removal technique. Removing all atypical moles is neither necessary nor cost effective
Abstract : In Brazil the deposits of soft soils are located along the coast, including the state of Santa Catarina, which is frequently observed in settlements due to the high compressibility of these soils. Currently with the advancement of technology through scientific research and the large urban settlements, areas of compressible soils, that first avoided the implementation of works, have been used as a viable alternative and are becoming increasingly common. Thus, this research aims to contribute to scientific advancement through studying the local soil in stratigraphic and geotechnical parameters and the density behavior of a soft soil, located in the city of Itajaí-SC. This study proposed to build a landfill in order to hedge against flooding of the River Itajaí-Acu reinforced with "geogrelhas" and "geodrenos" to accelerate settlements. Geotechnical parameters were obtained through field trials, with polls SPT, CPT, CPTu e DMT, laboratory characterization with Standard Incremental Consolidation (SIC) and Constant rate of Strain (CRS) , empirical correlations were also studied. Finally, the geotechnical parameters obtained were compared with other Brazilian studies. The densification behavior was studied by calculating settlements for thickening primary, monitoring of settlements through the geotechnical field instrumentation and also predictions of final settlements by application of graphical methods. The soil stratigraphy of the site consists of inserted layers of clay and sand, forming fluvial-marine and impenetrable soil after 30m deep. The first two layers of soft soil (Layer A and B) which the layer A has been shown with respect the heterogeneous compressibility parameters after 2.6 m in depth, were studied. Observed the pre-consolidation of soft soils and horsepower ranging from 10-3 to 10-5 and ch 10-2 of the 10-3cm²/s. Most geotechnical parameters obtained fall into the pattern of other Brazilian and Santa Catarina soils. Monitored repressions reached 78% of the calculated and the predicted graphical methods reached 90-133% of the measured settlements. Thus it was found that the tendency to stabilize at the study site repression
An approach using ddRADseq and machine learning for understanding speciation in Antarctic Antarctophilinidae gastropods
Sampling impediments and paucity of suitable material for molecular analyses have precluded the study of speciation and radiation of deep-sea species in Antarctica. We analyzed barcodes together with genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) obtained from double digestion restriction site-associated DNA sequencing (ddRADseq) for species in the family Antarctophilinidae. We also reevaluated the fossil record associated with this taxon to provide further insights into the origin of the group. Novel approaches to identify distinctive genetic lineages, including unsupervised machine learning variational autoencoder (VAE) plots, were used to establish species hypothesis frameworks. In this sense, three undescribed species and a complex of cryptic species were identified, suggesting allopatric speciation connected to geographic or bathymetric isolation. We further observed that the shallow waters around the Scotia Arc and on the continental shelf in the Weddell Sea present high endemism and diversity. In contrast, likely due to the glacial pressure during the Cenozoic, a deep-sea group with fewer species emerged expanding over great areas in the South-Atlantic Antarctic Ridge. Our study agrees on how diachronic paleoclimatic and current environmental factors shaped Antarctic communities both at the shallow and deep-sea levels, promoting Antarctica as the center of origin for numerous taxa such as gastropod mollusks
Eἰ καλὸν τὸ δυστυχές: the ‘newʼ Helen’s beauty from Stesichorus to Euripides
It was probably born in Western Greece the Palinode by Stesichorus, one of the most controversial works of the archaic Greek literature because of an ʻalternativeʼ narration of the Helen’s abduction famous episode. The meagreness of surviving fragments does not allow us to say anything sure about the role of the woman’s celebrated beauty in the poem, which, however, certainly provided the basis for Euripides’ masterful revision in the Helen. Eἰ καλὸν τὸ δυστυχές: when in the prologue, line 27, Helen says these lapidary words, it is the beginning of a shocking rework of a mythical character whom the literary the tradition, as well as Euripides’ tragedy itself, had canonized as the ἀρχὴ κακῶν. By means of a lexical and thematic analysis of the several references to beauty in the Helen, this paper has the purpose to highlight the significance of the euripidean revolution, whereby τὸ καλόν is not just the exterior aspect anymore, but it acquires a philosophical meaning as the reason of scission between being and appearing, between fame and reality. So, despite the clear intertextuality, exactly the role entrusted to τὸ καλόν expresses the remarkable gap separating Stesichorus’ poem and Euripides’ tragedy, the first one originated by the the requirements of the poet’s likely Locrian or Crotonian audience, the second one well integrated in the historical and cultural season of the 5th century end and in the ultimate Euripides’ artistic experimentalism
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
How to whack moles
AbstractIn the classical whack-a-mole game moles that pop up at certain locations must be whacked by means of a hammer before they go under ground again. The goal is to maximize the number of moles whacked. This problem can be formulated as an online optimization problem: requests (moles) appear over time at points in a metric space and must be served (whacked) by a server (hammer) before their deadlines (i.e., before they disappear). An online algorithm learns each request only at its release time and must base its decisions on incomplete information. We study the online whack-a-mole problem (WHAM) on the real line and on the uniform metric space. While on the line no deterministic algorithm can achieve a constant competitive ratio, we provide competitive algorithms for the uniform metric space. Our online investigations are complemented by complexity results for the offline problem
