From Helmut Jürgensen’s former students: The game of informatics
Personal reflections are given on being students of Helmut Jürgensen. Then, we attempt
to address his hypothesis that informatics follows trend-like behaviours through the
use of a content analysis of university job advertisements, and then via simulation
techniques from the area of quantitative economics

HELMUT E. LUCK JAKO HISTORYK PSYCHOLOGII
The article presents the figure of Helmut E. Luck, well-known scientist in the world of historians of psychology. Helmut E. Luck also is well-known in Poland, as the author or the scientific editor of several books in the field of history of psychology. In the first part of the article the short presentation of his scientific career and his scientific achievements are demonstrated. The second part comprises the analysis of his opinions in the scope of social psychology. Helmut E. Luck was the one of pioneers in psychology, who paid attention to social positive phenomena or social positive behaviors. In the field of history of psychology, H.E.Luck made the contribution to methodological analysis of psychological ideas in history, preferring the model which underlines connection of psychology with culture and at the same time creates the opportunity to analysis of biographical plots. The article also shows unquestionable and unusually merits of Luck’s in popularization of knowledge about history of psychology. The article presents the figure of Helmut E. Cognitive rehabilitation of memory : a clinical-neuropsychological introduction /
Cognitive Rehabilitation of Memory: A Clinical-Neuropsychological Introduction comprehensively reviews evidence-based research for each clinical tool, defining guidelines on how to assess patients and set treatment goals and best practices for creating individualized rehabilitation programs. The book also provides essential background knowledge on the nature and causes of memory impairment. Dr. Helmut Hildebrandt describes a wide range of interventions, including memory aids, learning strategies and non-cognitive treatment options, outlines guidelines for treating patients with memory disorder, reviews rehabilitation programs to improve memory function, examines non-cognitive approaches for improving memory impairments.Includes bibliographical references and index.Cognitive Rehabilitation of Memory: A Clinical-Neuropsychological Introduction comprehensively reviews evidence-based research for each clinical tool, defining guidelines on how to assess patients and set treatment goals and best practices for creating individualized rehabilitation programs. Hydrogen peroxide and central redox theory for aerobic life A tribute to Helmut Sies: Scout, trailblazer, and redox pioneer
AbstractWhen Rafael Radi and I wrote about Helmut Sies for the Redox Pioneer series, I was disappointed that the Editor restricted us to the use of “Pioneer” in the title. My view is that Helmut was always ahead of the pioneers: He was a scout discovering paths for exploration and a trailblazer developing strategies and methods for discovery. I have known him for nearly 40 years and greatly enjoyed his collegiality as well as brilliance in scientific scholarship. He made monumental contributions to 20th century physiological chemistry beginning with his first measurement of H2O2 in rat liver. While continuous H2O2 production is dogma today, the concept of H2O2 production in mammalian tissues was largely buried for half a century. He continued this leadership in research on oxidative stress, GSH, selenium, and singlet oxygen, during the timeframe when physiological chemistry and biochemistry transitioned to contemporary 21st century systems biology. His impact has been extensive in medical and health sciences, especially in nutrition, aging, toxicology and cancer. I briefly summarize my interactions with Helmut, stressing our work together on the redox code, a set of principles to link mitochondrial respiration, bioenergetics, H2O2 metabolism, redox signaling and redox proteomics into central redox theory
Der halbe Stern : Die Geschichte eines Mischlings ersten Grades im Dritten Reich und seiner Eltern, der Mischehe eines deutschbluetigen Theaterleiters und seiner juedischen Ehefrau /
The memoir was written in 1988 in Berlin, Germany. The author describes his childhood in a protestant environment in Freiburg. Helmut Krueger had only sporadic contact to his wide-spread Jewish relatives. His mother Camilla was born in Vienna, where she started her training as an actress with Ferdinand Gregori. Her parents were the Jewish lithograph Eduard Ezechiel Joseph Davidson from Den Haag and Rebecca Stern from Hungary. Helmut's father Max Krueger was a theater director in Konstanz, Muenster and Freiburg. His parents met in Muenster, where both of them were engaged in theater productions. They married in 1912. Terror of the November Pogrom of 1938 in Berlin. Helmut graduated from university in 1939 and was enlisted in the German army. His brother Answald and Helmut were able to remain in the army until 1941. In this way they hoped to be able to protect their family. After his dismissal as "non-Aryan" Helmut worked as a construction manager of subway bunkers in Berlin and Brest. Increasing difficulties in his position. In 1942 his fiance Hertha was expecting a child. Due to his heritage they were not able to legalize their relationship and lived together under restricted circumstances. Their child Christine Gabriele was born in November 1942. Helmut found an apartment for his mother in the outskirts of Berlin, where he hoped she would be able to remain undiscovered. In 1944 she was denounced and deported to Theresienstadt.
