    Skripsi ini berjudul “Elipsis Verba Dalam Beberapa Novel Karya Mitch Albom : Satu Kajian Sintaktis”. Materi yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah mengenai tipe-tipe elipsis verba yaitu elipsis leksikal dan elipsis operator. Penelitian ini bertujuan 1) untuk mendeskripsikan tipe-tipe elipsis verba yang terdapat pada beberapa novel karya Mitch Albom yaitu ―Tuesdays With Morrie‖ dan ‖The Five People You Meet in Heaven‖ serta 2) mengetahui bagian dari elemen verba leksikal dan verba operator yang lesap yang menyebabkan perubahan pada struktur kalimat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis deskriptif. Data diambil dari novel ―Tuesdays With Morrie‖ dan ‖The Five People You Meet in Heaven‖ yang ditulis oleh Mitch Albom. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua tipe elipsis verba; elipsis verba leksikal dan verba operator dapat ditemukan pada kalimat penyusun wacana novel ―Tuesdays With Morrie‖ dan ‖The Five People You Meet in Heaven‖, dan bagian dari elemen verba leksikal yang lesap yaitu verba leksikalnya dari kalimat itu sendiri, dan bagian dari elemen verba operator yang lesap berupa subjek dan verba operator. Kemudian perubahan struktur kalimat terjadi pada data tersebut

    The thesis is entitled Address Terms in the novel "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom translated into "Meniti Bianglala" by Andang H. Sutopo. It is aimed at finding out types of translation variations of English address term in the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven and its translation, and also at finding out the translation technique that the translator applied to translate them. Documentation method was used in collecting the data. The data collected were analyzed by reading both versions of the novel. In doing the works, the translator translated English address terms into Indonesian address terms in several forms, since there are many kinds of address term to address someone. There are 305 address terms found in the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom translated into Meniti Bianglala by Andang H. Sutopo. They consist of 210 (68.85%) of 305 address terms are translated in the form of pronoun, 12 (3.95%) of 305 address terms are translated in the form of kinship, 48 (15.75%) of 305 address terms are translated in the form of name, 18 (5.90%) of 305 address terms are translated in the form of title, and 17 (5.55%) of 305 address terms are translated in the form of endearment. There are also six techniques used by the translator in translating address terms of the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom translated into Meniti Bianglala by Andang H. Sutopo. They consist of 5 (1.6%) of 305 address terms translated by applying amplification technique, 69 (22.6%) of 305 address terms translated by applying borrowing technique, 4 (1.3%) of 305 address terms translated by applying established equivalent technique, 178 (58.4%) of 305 address terms translated by applying literal technique, 13 (4.3%) of 305 address terms translated by applying reduction technique, and 36 (11.8%) of 305 address terms translated by applying transposition technique. Finally the researcher concludes that Pronoun term is the address term mostly found in the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom translated into Meniti bianglala by Andang H. Sutopo with total of 210 (68.85%) from 305 address terms, and Literal technique is the translation technique that the translator mostly applied in translating address term in the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom with total of 178 (58.4%) from 305 address terms

    Referensi demonstratif adalah referensi yang memerlukan isyarat yang menyertainya untuk interpretasi yang lengkap dan juga penting sebagai penafsiran verbal dan mungkin bersifat anaporic atau cataphoric. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasikan referensi demonstratif yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan novel "Have a Little Faith" yang di tulis oleh Mitch Albom. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada 114 data yang ditemukan dalam novel tersebut. Semua data mewakili 3 jenis referensi demonstratif oleh Halliday dan Hasan (1976). Penggunaan referensi demonstratif yang telah ditemukan dalam versi bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Indonesia adalah 115 data, 9 adalah demonstrasi nominal selektif This dan juga 30 data adalah demonstrasi nominal selektif That, 5 di antaranya adalah demonstrasi nominal selektif These dan 4 demonstrasi nominal selektif Those , 59 data adalah artikel demonstrasi The , 2 data adalah adverbia demonstratif Now, dan data terakhir adalah 5 adverbia demonstratif Then. Dalam kasus ini, dari 9 bagian bab SPRING dalam novel "Have a little Faith" oleh Mitch Albom, peneliti tidak menemukan penggunaan adverbia demonstratif Here and There. Sementara itu, penggunaan referensi demonstratif yang paling banyak di gunakan adalah referensi demonstratif artikel The dengan 59 data. Hasil penelitian ini terdapat 114 referensi demonstrasi yang ditemukan dalam novel "Have a Little Faith". Peneliti menyarankan untuk peneliti masa depan agar melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang referensi demonstratif dengan objek yang berbeda, seperti lagu, cerita pendek, atau teks film. Peneliti juga merekomendasikan peneliti masa depan untuk menyelidiki strategi referensi demonstratif dengan teori terbaru dan teori yang berbeda untuk membuat temuan penelitian lebih lengkap

    Penelitian berjudul “Alegori Pada Novel The Time Keeper Karya Mitch Albom” ini menganalisis alegori sebagai bagian dari fenomena di dalam kehidupan yang kompleks. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori mengenai alegori dari Holman (1960) dan latar/setting dari Mario Klarer (1962) digunakan sebagai pendukung dalam proses analisis data. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk untuk mengetahui alegori yang muncul pada The Time Keeper dan mengindentifikasi hubungan antar alegori yang muncul di dalam novel The Time Keeper. Metode kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang menunjukan keberadaan alegori, alegori di dalam Novel The Time Keeper direpresentasikan melalui Hourglass, Father Time, dan Menara Nim. Ketiga alegori tersebut memiliki hubungan satu sama lainnya. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, ketiga objek alegori yang muncul di dalam penelitian ini dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang sejarah dan latar tempat serta waktu pada novel The Time Keeper. Latar belakang sejarah yang diambil yaitu pada masa babilonia sedangkan latar tempat pada cerita ini berada di Mesopotamia selatan daerah Irak. Dari analisis hubungan antar alegori tersebut akan mendeskripsikan legenda dan sejarah yang pernah terjadi pasa masa Mesopotamia

    This research was to analysis the need for keeping hope in the novel of Mitch Albom’s The First Phone Call From Heaven 2013 by using sociological approach. This objectives of the study is to identification the hope in the people. When the people always have a hope, he show characteristic optimism. Here the researcher used qualitative research to indentify hope in the characters. Primary data and secondary data are two type of data in this study. The primary data from the researcher is The First Phone Call From Heaven by Mitch Albom novels and translation novels in Indonesian language Telepon Pertama Dari Surga by Julanda Tantani. And the secondary data the researchers was taken from the iterature, research, thesis, dissertation, international journal, internet and any other source with can support this study. The technique of collecting data as follows: reading novel, Browsing to the internet, identifying, Taking important and Drawing conclusion and suggestion. The result shows the characters in the novel to showing characteristic of optimism such as, accepting past event, being grateful, being good listener, forgiving, healthy lifestyle, positive thinking, sharing experience, smiling, stop blaming, willing. The other result related sociology of literature that shows literary as manifestation situation of the author that influences the author of novel to write this used the need for keeping hope as reflection the author during his mother tending sick was suffering a stroke. We can conclude that required maintaining hope, in this research it can be seen from character figure in the phone, heaven and the god
