“Irradiated Mutants and Psychopathic Poems”: A Conversation with Michael Lista
Michael Lista is the author of Bloom (House of Anansi, 2010), poetry editor for The Walrus, and the author of the “On Poetry” column for The National Post. He is a poet and essayist, whose work has been published in The Walrus, Maisonneuve, The Malahat Review, Arc, Descant, Canadian Literature, and Border Crossings. Recently, his work was included in the companion book to Guy Maddin’s film My Winnipeg. He has been a finalist for a National Magazine Award, the Arc Poem of the Year Prize, The Malahat Review Long Poem Prize, and the Descant/Winston Collins Prize, and he has been shortlisted twice for the Pushcart Prize. He lives in Toronto. This conversation was valiantly conducted over loud music and trivia questions at The Wilson 96 on College Street. It has been lightly edited for length and clarity.
A list is given of the 205 recognized lizard species known or believed to occur in Colombia. For each species there is the name, author, year described, a list of the states where museum specimens were captured, and an overall list of New and Old World museums having Colombian specimens in their collection.</span
Tax systems in the reforming socialist economies of Europe
As socialist countries move toward market systems, fiscal policy is an important part of their reform agenda. First, they need to reorient public spending to focus more on the provision of"public"goods. Second, they need to adopt more selective, predictable, and nondiscretionary means to finance such spending. The goal of this paper is to lay out some of the broad trends and issues now emerging as socialist economies attempt to reform their systems of taxation. The primary focus is on Eastern Europe, although many of the same trends and issues arise in the reforming socialized countries of Asia and Africa. Particular attention is paid to Hungary and Poland, which are most advanced in the tax reform process. The experiences they have had and the problems they are facing provide valuable lessons for those countries just starting on the reform process.Public Sector Economics&Finance,Environmental Economics&Policies,Economic Theory&Research,Banks&Banking Reform,Municipal Financial Management

DiapixFL
DiapixFL consists of speakers whose first language (L1) is either English or Spanish solving a "spot-the-difference" task in both their L1 and their second language (L2, which for native English talkers is Spanish, and for native Spanish talkers is English). Speakers with English as an L1 were recorded at the Centre for Speech Technology at the University of Edinburgh (www.cstr.ed.ac.uk); speakers with Spanish as an L1 were recorded at the Language and Speech Laboratory at the University of the Basque Country (www.laslab.org). Six pairs of talkers in each L1 were recorded.Cooke, Martin; Garcia Lecumberri, Maria Luisa; Wester, Mirjam. (2013). DiapixFL, [sound]. EVALUASI PENERAPAN SALURAN DISTRIBUSI PADA UD LISTA CAKRANEGARA
Industries that get much attentions this time are food and agriculture
industry. UD Lista is one of the companies which operate in food processing in
Lombok. In marketing their products, this company uses several alternative
distribution channels, those are supermarkets, gift shops and restaurants. This is
why the author choose the theme Evaluation of distribution channels pattern in
UD Lista Cakranegara.
The evaluation was done by using the weighted value factor. In this
method several factors should be considered by the company to provide weight
based on the level of importance then assign a value to each strategy based on the
factors specified and determine the weighted value of each strategy.Factors
affecting the selection of distribution channels at UD Lista are sales volume,
growth potential, ability to attract consumers, the frequency of collecting goods,
as well as the price offered by each channel.
From the results of the evaluation of the distribution channel pattern can
be known that the distribution channels through gift shop has the highest weighted
factor with a value of 0.677. In other hand, distribution through supermarket has
the lowest weighted factor with a value of 0,450. So that, distribution channel
through supermarket must be improved to increase profit
