Hierarchical structuring of psychopathological dimensions in youth : current progress and future steps with the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP)

    No full text
Over the past two decades, it has become clear that psychopathology exists on continuous spectra organized hierarchically from broad, general symptom dimensions to more specific ones. This structure is best represented by the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) framework that incorporates individual signs, symptoms, and behaviors at its most specific level while encompassing higher-order dimensions at its broadest level. This commentary gives an overview of studies that evaluated higher-order dimensions of psychopathology and their alignment with the HiTOP framework. Studies consistently support the alignment of youth psychopathology with the HiTOP framework, particularly its general dimension of psychopathology and the broad internalizing and externalizing spectrum. The model also identifies distinct, lower-level dimensions such as fear, affectivity, antagonism, and attention problems. This hierarchical structure is evident across the entire age span but with specific makeup of dimensions appearing to differ between children and adolescents. Rapidly gaining momentum, current evidence indicates HiTOP’s effectiveness in conceptualizing youth mental health. Future studies should focus on exploring the HiTOP structure across different ages and populations, testing its real-world generalizability, selecting the most appropriate assessment tools, and understanding how the framework applies to youth from diverse societies and cultures. CC BY 4.0© The Author(s) 2024.Correspondence Address: D. MARKET AND ASSORTMENT OF RASPBERRY PRODUCTS IN THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND IN THE WORLD

    No full text
This paper analyses raspberry market dynamics in the world; importance and possibilities for getting raspberry products, such as juices, concentrates, syrups, pastes and raspberry juice powder, in the higher processing stages. Considerably higher economic effects (market prices even higher than 60 EUR per kg) could be reached if these products are offered in the internal market, and especially if these products are exported. This is the reason why the overall supply of these products, aimed at winning the adequate place in the internal market as well as in the external market, despite the ever increasing competition with regard to the quantity and quality, should be derived from the production/objects which are working in accordance with HACCP standards, and it should have a recognizable trade mark and an original packaging, as a symbol of its origin and quality

According to statistical data, Serbia is greatest exporter of raspberries at the world. Annually raspberry production is about 100.000 t, and therefrom 80% is exported in frozen state. Among concurrents that owen raspberry place at Europe market are: Chile, Hungary and Poland. These producers, beside frozen raspberry offer also a fresh raspberry in the corresponding packaging, in order to extend shelf life and marketing. According to EU market data fresh raspberry in conform packaging achieve up to 15 EUR fore one kilo. In that case it should consider that except proper packaging and cooling each other treatment and storage is not necessary, in comparison with frozen raspberry export, it can multipi income. In these paper system of packaging is elaborated, type of packaging material and gas mixture in package wherein fresh and cool raspberry export, or MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging). By using MAP for raspberry, control growth of Botrytis, removing of ethylene, in combination with low temperature in distribution, shelf life of fresh raspberry can bee extended from 2 to 3 time, in a comparison with standard storage conditions of fresh raspberry in warehouse

New legislation on juveniles: Importance of alternatives to institutional treatment (in the light of the offender’s reintegration and victim’s empowerment)

In this paper the author denotes some of the new legal provisions contained in the Law on juvenile offenders and criminal protection of juveniles of the Republic of Serbia, in the light of both the reintegration of juvenile offenders and future more active role of a victim of crime committed by a juvenile offender - the role that would contribute to victim’s empowerment. Likewise, the author points out the importance of alternative sanctions, i.e. procedures and measures that should enable diversion from the classic criminal procedure, or its suspension. The article signifies the importance of noncustodial measures as alternatives to institutional treatment, in terms of the new provisions contained in the Law

    Spectral radius of graphs

Spectral Radius of Graphs provides a thorough overview of important results on the spectral radius of adjacency matrix of graphs that have appeared in the literature in the preceding ten years, most of them with proofs, and including some previously unpublished results of the author. The primer begins with a brief classical review, in order to provide the reader with a foundation for the subsequent chapters. Topics covered include spectral decomposition, the Perron-Frobenius theorem, the Rayleigh quotient, the Weyl inequalities, and the Interlacing theorem. From this introduction, th

    Wood coloring by reactive stains

The appearance of interior wood products (e.g.: furniture and floors) is often the first criteria that affects customer’s interests while making a purchase. One way to diversify the colors and appearances of wood products is by using reactive stains. These coloring systems, consisting of aqueous solutions of metal salts, can penetrate wood and react with its phenolic compounds by forming metal complexes. The color of wood obtained depends on the type of phenolic compounds, type of metal salt, wood surface preparation, temperature, wood humidity, and others. In order to determine the relationship between the structural characteristics of the phenolic compounds and the color developed on wood surface, the polyphenols of two North American hardwood species were extracted and analyzed by different spectrophotometric methods and by liquid state phosphorus-31 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The chromatic coordinates (CIELAB system) of wood colors obtained after application of reactive stains were compared for these hardwood species. A better knowledge of the reaction mechanisms and the factors influencing them, will allow the optimal use of these systems in wood finishing industries. Since the colored products are present in the wood structure, the wood grain appearance will be preserved or even be accentuated. Enhancing the natural and warm aspect of wood used in buildings interiors can contribute to the well-being of the consumers and promote furthermore the use of this biosourced material

Estimating the impact of high-fidelity rainfall data on traffic conditions and traffic prediction

    No full text
Accurate prediction of network-level traffic parameters during inclement weather conditions can greatly help in many transportation applications. Rainfall tends to have a quantifiable impact on driving behavior and traffic network performance. This impact is often studied for low-resolution rainfall data on small road networks, whereas this study investigates it in the context of a large traffic network and high-resolution rainfall radar images. First, the impact of rainfall intensity on traffic performance throughout the day and for different road categories is analyzed. Next, it is investigated whether including rainfall information can improve the predictive accuracy of the state-of-the-art traffic forecasting methods. Numerical results show that the impact of rainfall on traffic varies for different rainfall intensities as well as for different times of the day and days of the week. The results also show that incorporating rainfall data into prediction models improves their overall performance. The average reduction in mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) for models with rainfall data is 4.5%. Experiments with downsampled rainfall data were also performed, and it was concluded that incorporating higher resolution weather data does indeed lead to an increase in performance of traffic prediction models.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Signal Processing System

Freeze drying is relatively new process for drying fruit from frozen state. In distinction from classical drying, freeze drying make product with very little content of water, against maximal preservation of all nutritive matter in the product. These process is especially good for sensitive fruits at whom shall almost save typical flavor, color and vitamins. In this paper oversight of new raspberry products that can bee obtained by freeze drying process is given. Analysis of technological procedures for obtaining of whole freeze dried raspberry and freeze dried raspberry juice in powdered form is given. These technologies are relatively new in the world and with us still are not apply in industrial dimensions
