Reduced NIRCam Images and PSF Models in COSMOS-Web Field

    No full text
Data Release V1 of "AGNs and Host Galaxies in COSMOS-Web Project" (Zhuang, Li and Shen 2023, [https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2023arXiv230903266Z/abstract]) This data release contains reduced NIRCam mosaics and PSF models in four filters (F115W, F150W, F277W, and F444W) covering 0.28 square deg (80 visits in January, May, and June 2023). We provide data, error, and weight images as separate files for each filter of each visit, together with the corresponding PSF models (global, broad, and narrow). Mosaics have a pixel scale of 30 mas/pixel while PSF models have a pixel scale of 15 mas/pixel (oversampled by a factor of two). The center coordinates of each observation (visit) are listed in COSMOS-Web_pointing_info.txt. Name scheme Mosaics (OBS_A.tar.gz): OBS_A_B_C.fits A: observation number; B: filter name (F115W, F150W, F277W, or F444W), C: file type (data, error, or weight). PSF models (PSF.tar.gz): OBS_A_B_C_PSF.fits A: observation number; B: filter name (F115W, F150W, F277W, or F444W), C: PSF type (global, broad, or narrow)

Assessment of the severity of bacterial leaf blight in rice using canopy hyperspectral reflectance

    No full text
Bacterial leaf blight (BLB) is an important vascular disease of irrigated rice and serious infestations may cause a significant loss of yield. This study analyzed hyperspectral canopy reflectance spectra of two rice cultivars with different susceptibilities to BLB to establish spectral models for assessing disease severity for future site-specific management. The results indicated that wavebands from 757 to 1039 nm were the most sensitive region of the spectrum for the moderately susceptible cultivar TNG 67, whereas most narrow bands showed a significant relationship for the highly susceptible cultivar TCS 10. All the spectral indices (SIs) calculated had significant relationships with proportions of infested area in cultivar TCS 10, but only two SIs correlated significantly with cultivar TNG 67. The relation between the severity of the disease and spectral reflectance for the less susceptible cultivar TNG 67 can be improved by using a multiple linear regression approach

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
