This study was made based on observations for three months at Angkringan Bojan, the purpose of the observation was to find out the marketing strategies carried out by Angkringan Bojan to achieve its sales targets.                       From the observations, Angkringan Bojan has never reached the target set. This is because in the implementation of the Angkringan Bojan strategy, the SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) analysis has not been carried out by comparing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats with existing theories.                       Angkringan Bojan needs to find a more strategic sales location than the previous location which is close to the market waste disposal. In its development, the author also recommends Angkringan Bojan to improve the quality, design, promotion and bonus of culinary products available on the menu, strengthen the security system with complex passwords and back up data to minimize the possibility of hackers.Key words: Marketing Strategy, Sales Target, SWOT Analysis, Culinary Products

Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić might not be the first name you think of when you think of fairy tales, unless, of course, you had a magical Croatian childhood like photographer and researcher Bojan Fürst. Bojan is the Manager of Knowledge Mobilization at the Leslie Harris Centre of Regional Policy and Development, Memorial University of Newfoundland. Bojan leads the Harris Centre's knowledge brokering team, connecting community needs with the resources available at the university. Recently, Bojan has been working to translate some of the literary fairy tales of Croatian author, poet, and essayist Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, who has been praised as one of Croatia’s best writers for children, and whose work utilizing traditional Slavic names and motifs been compared to Hans Christian Andersen and JRR Tolkien, though her work is not widely known by English-speaking audiences. Today, we’re working to fix that, and delving into the enchanting fairytales of Bojan’s childhood. Recorded 23 January 201

То јест, када говоримо о ЕУ о чему заправо говоримо (Пухалина „the nature of the beast“)? This work is divided into eight parts: 1) Introduction2) Globalisation and Euroglobalisation 3) European Paradox 4) What is the EU? 5) Morphogenesis of Modern States 6) A View Ahead 7) Excurse on Crisis and 8) Conclusion If we really want to realise the principle of the European integration, then it is necessary to understand how the national-territorial state, actually, came into existence. For, this integration, basically, follows the pattern or imitates the way of how the national-territorial state – that is: the modern state – had once been built, during the 17th, 18th, and especially in the first half of the nineteenth century. And, this is the gist of this dissertation upon the whole. Of course, in order to see if this is true – if that comparison between the state building and the European integration is meaningful – it is necessary to start with some kind of historical research and to take next question as our starting point: How the national-territorial state, actually, had been built? Briefly, the answer here would be, more or less, as follows: The national-territorial state – or simply the modern state, (finally), is, in fact, a result of something that is in this work marked as marketisation (in the broadest sense of the word). For its part, the marketisation is a process/project that, first and foremost, consists of what is needed for formation of a single market, which is to say, for formation of a common market on a national scale. In other words, it turns out that the national-territorial state is finally coming up – or at least finally completing itself as a state in modern, real sense of that word – as a result of a market building process/project. Hence, the market or marketisation is that operational foundation of state building processes/projects, that took place during the transition from Middle Ages to Modernity, and works of authors like Braudel or Polanyi seem to bear out such a knowledge. And – to put it simply – since, as we know it, the foundation of the European integration is market and marketisation too, then an impartial observer has strong basis to claim that the European integration is, so to speak, the repetition of former viii state building processes/projects, needless to say, with many of needed modifications and adaptations to the new, contemporary conditions. And that is exactly what people like Stefano Bartolini claim. Thus, in his study “Restructuring Europe“, Bartolini argues that the European integration is, I quote, “an attempt to state building“. Surely, big – and here and there striking – similarities between the two of these processes/projects shouldn‟t make us blind for – also big – differences. For example, while the EU has been formed without the use of the weapons, it is almost understood to had been the case when we talk about the state formation in former Europe (and North America). But, if this is really so – if the European integration represents some kind of re-enactment of the state building processes/projects which took place in not so remote a past – then isn‟t it standing to reason to presume also that we can “read“ what future holds, when we talk about modern state in general, also just from their past? What we are trying to suggest is the same what Arjan H. Schakel, Liesbet Hooghe and Gary Marks are trying to suggest when they notes in their text “Multilevel Governance and the State“ that “the building of modern states took several centuries. Many regions in federal countries such as Germany, Austria and heavily regionalized countries such as Italy and Spain were once independent, sovereign units“. However, this part, which concerns that – inherent and important but pretty much overlooked – connection between the state building and market building, would be the gist of the dissertation, as we have said already. Also, in this work, the author is focused on one more important question, namely – what is the European Union(Donald Puchala‟s real “nature of the beast“)?What kind of an organisation is it and how to make some satisfactory classification? That is, when we talk about the EU, what are we talking about actually? It is a basic, unavoidable question, for every scrupulous scholar engaged in the field of the European integration. Though, in a sense, this is a little bit diffused, raw question, so maybe it is more productive to put that basic question right now in this concrete, refined form (like it had been done in the dissertation): Is the European Union a kind of a state? For example, scholars like Majone says that the EU is a regulatory state. Then, Vivien A. Schmidttalk about the EU organisation using syntagm “future nation-state”. Some, again, say that it is a „multi-level state“. Some, like James A. Caporaso, call it „postmodern state“. Authors like A.M. Sbragia think that it is „less than a state but more than an international organization“. ix As well, there are authors like Gary Marks, for whom the EU at first was Multi-Level Governance and nowadayshe consider Union to be an empire (see in his article Europe and its empires: From Rome to the European Union, published in Journal of Common Market Stuudies 2011). So, it seems that we don‟t have a cut-clear answer and conclusion, which may be indicative of something that someone would call “blind men and an elephant”. But, there is one more important thing to perceive, namely, the least common denominator of these (and other authors), seemingly very different, accounts. In a word, all od them see and realise that the EU is so much like state. In other words, for all of them (and not only for them) Union is just statelike. In this work, the author is at first arguing – or agreeing – that it is not so easy to find a final answer, first of all, simply because the EU is an ever evolving and changing system. No doubt, the topic is controversial. Whether we say: the EU is not a state or: yes, it is a state, we are not satisfied; because the EU, obviously, has some features of a state or a statehood, but, at the same time, it is missing some features (as a matter of fact, the most important or elemental elements we can‟t imagine a state without). In the first place, it doesn‟t have a law enforcement, that is, a Weberian legitimate monopoly over means and use of violence. Taking all of this into account, an answer – one of the answerswe are proposing in the dissertation – is the answer that Jeremy Rifkin gives in his study „‟The European Dream“. Thus, together with Rifkin, we can say that the European Union is not a state, although, at the same time, it is functioning like a state. The next relevant question(s) that this work is dealing with concern the concept of sovereignty. What is happening with the sovereignty in this era of so called globalisation and increasing interdependence of the entire world? Question like this is relevant both at the European, continental scale – in a sense of what is in this work called “Euroglobalisation“ – and at the global scale, when we talk about the globalisation. We can also ask “whether the Member States can still be considered sovereign if the locus of political control has shifted and is not exclusively at the state level any more. If so, what does this say about the principle of sovereignty“? as Tanja A. Aalberts put in her essay “The Future of Sovereignty in Multilevel Governance Europe“. In short, are the authors who talk about “the end of the sovereignty“ right? With regard to all of these questions, as well as others which we didn‟t mention here because of reduced space, reader of this dissertation will not find a definitive, x as clear as a day, answer, as it is, somewhat naturally, expected. Instead of that, the author offers several approaches or ways of thinking to reach into yet another perspective with real insights, with the aim not to offer or impose this or that, finished answer, but rather to very clarify this problematical problem the more is possible
