Mikki er vörumerki Walt Disney samsteypunnar. Þá hefur kynning á vörumerkinu frá upphafi verið gerð með nýjustu tækni einkum á sviði kvikmyndagerðar. Leiða má líkur á því að vinsældir hans byggja á öllum þessum þáttum. Persónan er góð, og í ævintýrum sínum lætur hún oftast gott af sér leiða. Allir þessir þættir sem Mikki Mús samastendur af hafa leitt til gríðarlegra vinsælda og útbreiðslu um heim allan. Það er efni ritgerðar þessarar að skoða og greina alla þessa þætti sem mynda sem ein og samsett heild vörumerkið Mikki Mús. Ég tel mikilvægt að skoða sögu Mikka Mús til þess að geta leitt lesandanum fyrir sjónir hvers vegna Mikki Mús er eins og hann er í dag. Mikki mús markaði einnig ákveðin tímamót í teiknimyndagerð, því eins og komið verður inn á síðar í ritgerðinni, ruddi hann brautina fyrir aðrar teiknimyndapersónur bæði í kvikmyndum og í teiknimyndasögum
