Periventricular heterotopia, mental retardation, and epilepsy associated with 5q14.3-q15 deletion
No full textBackground: Periventricular heterotopia (PH) is an etiologically heterogeneous disorder characterized by nodules of neurons ectopically placed along the lateral ventricles. Most affected patients have seizures and their cognitive level varies from normal to severely impaired. At present, two genes have been identified to cause PH when mutated. Mutations in FLNA (Xq28) and ARFGEF2 (20q13) are responsible for X-linked bilateral PH and a rare autosomal recessive form of PH with microcephaly. Chromosomal rearrangements involving the 1p36, 5p15, and 7q11 regions have also been reported in association with PH but the genes implicated remain unknown. Fourteen additional distinct anatomoclinical PH syndromes have been described, but no genetic insights into their causes have been gleaned.
Methods: We report the clinical and imaging features of three unrelated patients with epilepsy, mental retardation, and bilateral PH in the walls of the temporal horns of the lateral ventricles, associated with a de novo deletion of the 5q14.3-15 region. We used microarray-based comparative genomic hybridization to define the boundaries of the deletions.
Results: The three patients shared a common deleted region spanning 5.8 Mb and containing 14 candidate genes.
Conclusion: We identified a new syndrome featuring bilateral periventricular heterotopia (PH), mental retardation, and epilepsy, mapping to chromosome 5q14.3-q15. This observation reinforces the extreme clinical and genetic heterogeneity of PH. counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Jedan od glavnih ciljeva ovog rada je usporedba opera Der Freischütz i Mignon s C.-P.Taffanelovim fantazijama. Kasnije su Philippe Bernold i Emmanuel Pahud uredili izdanja te dvije fantazije. Bernold je surađivao s izdavačkom kućom Editions Gérard Billaudot, dok je Pahud surađivao s izdavačkom kućom Universal Edition.The main focus of the master thesis will be on Mignon Fantaisie and Fantaisie on Der Freischütz. These pieces are the basis of the flute literature. The aim would be to make a comparison within primary and secondary sources in order to get better insight in performance practice. The pieces are based on operas and Taffanel made a transcription for the flute. Later on, Philippe Bernold and Emmanuel Pahud edited both Fantaisies. Bernold collaborated with Editions Gérard Billaudot and Pahud with Universal Edition

No full text본 논문은 19세기 후기 낭만주의의 대표적인 가곡 작곡가 중 한 사람으로 많은 가곡 작품을 남긴 휴고 볼프(Hugo Wolf, 1860~1903)와 그의 <<Mignon Lieder>>에 관한 연구이다. <MignonⅠ> ‘Heiss mich nicht reden’, <MignonⅡ> ‘Nur wer die Sehnsucht kennt’, <Mignon Ⅲ> ‘So lasst mich scheinen’, <Kennst du das Land>에 나타난 시와 음악의 관계를 중심으로 분석하여 화자인 미뇽의 심리가 음악으로 어떻게 표현되었는지 연구하였다.
본 연구를 통하여 볼프는 전통적인 음악 형식을 고수하는 것보다 가사의 음악적 표현과 전달을 우선으로 생각하여 시가 직관적으로 이해되도록 작곡하였음을 알 수 있다. 그는 시와 음악의 긴밀성을 위해 언어가 지니고 있는 액센트와 독일 시의 각운이 음악에 드러나는 낭창법(Declamation)을 사용했다. 또한 곡의 모티브를 적절히 반복 사용하여 독일어의 운율을 표현하고, 모티브의 변형, 확대, 축소를 통해 곡에 통일성을 부여하였다.
또한 볼프의 가곡은 성악성부와 반주부가 독립적이면서도 서로 조화를 이루어 시와 음악이 밀접하게 융화되고 표현된다. 가사에 맞게 선율과 리듬을 적절히 사용하였으며 이를 위해 당김음 리듬이나 반음계적 화성, 구체적인 지시어도 효과적으로 사용하였다.
예술 가곡에 있어서 피아노의 역할은 볼프에 이르러 더욱 확대되었다. 성악성부에서는 시의 내용을, 피아노는 그에 따른 화성적 기능을 담당했던 예전의 가곡과 다르게 개량된 피아노의 음색과 음량을 최대한으로 사용해 극적인 표현을 가능하게 하고 시의 내용을 구체적으로 표현하도록 그 범위를 넓혔다. ;This thesis is a study on Hugo Wolf’s(1860-1903) <<Mignon Lieder>>. Wolf is one of the most famous composers of late Romanticism in the 19th century. His <<Mignon Lieder>> consists of four volumes: <Mignon I> ‘Heiss mich nicht reden’, <Mignon II> ‘Nur wer die Sehnsucht kennt’, <Mignon Ⅲ> ‘So lasst mich scheinen’, and <Kennst du das Land>.
Through this study analyzing the relationship between poetry and music, it can be seen that Wolf has focused on expression for the transmission of the lyrics rather than using the traditional layout of form. The use of the declamation with German rhymes and accents in his songs makes intuitive understanding of poetry. In addition, the rhythm of the German language is expressed using the motivic elements appropriately, and the unity throughout the work is given by the transformation of the motifs.
Because Wolf’s song is preoccupied with poetry, the melody and rhythm were appropriately used for the lyrics. Frequent use of modulation and altered harmony bring a dramatic atmosphere to his songs. In addition, Wolf's song is proceeded with the voice and the piano independently in contrapuntal texture. The role of the piano in these songs was further extended.
