Poles of the Standard -function of and the Rallis–Schiffmann Lift
AbstractWe characterize the cuspidal representations ofwhose standard-function admits a pole atas the image of the Rallis–Schiffmann lift for the commuting pair (,) in. The image consists of non-tempered representations. The main tool is the recent construction, by the second author, of a family of Rankin–Selberg integrals representing the standard-function.</jats:p

Test Vectors for Archimedean Period Integrals
We study period integrals involving Whittaker functions associated to generic
irreducible Casselman-Wallach representations of , where
is an archimedean local field. Via the archimedean theory of newforms for
developed by the first author, we prove that newforms are weak
test vectors for several period integrals, including the Rankin-Selberg integral, the Flicker integral, and the
Bump-Friedberg integral. By taking special values of these period integrals, we
deduce that newforms are weak test vectors for Rankin-Selberg periods,
Flicker-Rallis periods, and Friedberg-Jacquet periods. These results parallel
analogous results in the nonarchimedean setting proven by the second author,
which use the nonarchimedean theory of newforms for developed
by Jacquet, Piatetski-Shapiro, and Shalika. By combining these archimedean and
nonarchimedean results, we prove the existence of weak test vectors for certain
global period integrals of automorphic forms.Comment: 42 page
Test vectors for archimedean period integrals
We study period integrals involving Whittaker functions associated to generic irreducible Casselman-Wallach representations of GLn(F), where F is an archimedean local field. Via the archimedean theory of newforms for GLn developed by the first author, we prove that newforms are weak test vectors for several period integrals, including the GLn × GLn Rankin-Selberg integral, the Flicker integral, and the Bump-Friedberg integral. By taking special values of these period integrals, we deduce that newforms are weak test vectors for Rankin-Selberg periods, Flicker-Rallis periods, and Friedberg-Jacquet periods. These results parallel analogous results in the nonarchimedean setting proved by the second author, which use the nonarchimedean theory of newforms for GLn developed by Jacquet, Piatetski-Shapiro, and Shalika. By combining these archimedean and nonarchimedean results, we prove the existence of weak test vectors for certain global period integrals of automorphic forms

The Process of Organizational Capacity Development in Action in Post-Conflict Setting of the Literacy Department of Afghanistan
This paper presents a model of capacity development for public organizations in post-conflict settings. The paper reveals the challenges faced by the author as a `change agent' who tried to understand and develop the basic capacity of the Literacy Department of the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan. The author used an action-research approach and has actively followed events and actions to explore the `how can' of capacity development efforts. The review of organizational change literature provided background knowledge for the author's day-to-day work in a public organization and helped him to develop a Foundational Capacity Development Framework (FCDF). The FCDF offers four complementing components of infrastructure, technical competence, social and organizational participation, and strategic alignment . The framework also recognizes the importance of underlying components of capacity development which are based on the beliefs, values, behavior, ownership, sustainment and institutionalization . The four components in the framework are utilized in ways that address the underlying causes to change individual beliefs and values , creating ownership and empowerment for the sustainment and institutionalization of capacity development efforts in public organizations.Educational Planning, Research, and AdministrationDoctor of Education (Ed.D.

A Critical Analysis Of Jamaica’s Emerging Educational Policy Discourses In The Age Of Globalization
This dissertation critically analyzes Jamaica's educational policy responses to the alleged needs and promises of the current globalization era. The research focuses on policies being developed and implemented in the areas of educational governance, management, and financing. I argue that the emerging policy approaches, though intended to achieve liberatory goals, are generally having the unintended consequence of perpetuating disempowerment of low income Jamaicans. I use qualitative content analysis of policy documents as the primary analytic method. I employ postcolonial theory to historicize and contextualize Jamaica's turbulent educational policy experience. I also draw on Foucauldian discourse theory in order to frame policy as discourse, which I define as an institutionalized way of thinking that governs and is reflected in both state policy rhetoric and practice. Here, I explicitly identify Jamaica's emergent policy discourses as decentralized governance and education as investment and explore the internationalized norms and national economic constraints within which they develop. I analyze the ways in which neoliberal ideology partly drives these discourses and note their inconsistencies with much of the post-war/post-independence social welfare approaches that Jamaica used to address social asymmetries of colonialism. The contradictions are brought out by examining the changing relationship between the citizen and the state that the new policy approaches engender. In this regard, I interrogate the institutionalized practices and the newly proposed roles of educational stakeholders--the nation-state, the citizens, and institution--that the emerging discourses prescribe. The results show that the discourse ofdecentralized governance primarily fractures accountability, and education as investment increasingly predicates educational opportunity on capacity to pay. However, the intensity of these effects varies based on educational level, becoming more pronounced at the later stages. Key words : Jamaica, educational policy, policy discourse, post-colonialism, educational governance, educational management, educational financing, developing country.Educational Policy, Research, and AdministrationDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.
Sosiaalisen median strategia kuntoon
Fixing the strategy at social media
The thesis deals with the company's social media strategy. The idea was to create social media for Rallis Fur and utilize social media as part of the business. The author of the thesis was involved in implementing a social media channels, witch are already in action.
The thesis is functional, consisting of theory and concrete social media marketing plan. The main channel for social media will be Facebook, Instagram and home pages. These marketing communication channels were not found on the client, so the designer of the thesis was planning everything from the beginning. The goal was to reach new customers and increase the company's visibility in social media.
The theoretical part of the Thesis considers the content of the goals set, the implementation plan, the target group definition, the schedule, the budget and the follow-up. The author of the thesis defines the channels of social media themselves and presents an example of future social media publications. Theories of literature and electronic articles are used as sources of the theory.
Social media enables the opportunity to get more potential customers, which makes social media a useful marketing channel for a company. At the same time social media is a good business for the company to gain more visibility and new enthusiastic customers....
