Intellectual property laws and Islam in Malaysia.
PhDThis study is undertaken on the premise that Islam and Islamic law is to be taken into
serious consideration in any future legislative reform of laws in Malaysia. Islam being
the religion of the country and the strong religious sentiment of the Muslims (who
form the majority in Malaysia) cannot be overlooked or dismissed lightly by the
legislators in Malaysia. Reformation of intellectual property laws is timely, as we are
now approaching to the dateline set by GATF-Trips agreement which aim is to
improve our standard of intellectual property protection. This study seeks to analyze
and evaluate the current legislation pertaining to intellectual property in Malaysia in
terms of the philosophy and rules governing the existence, ownership and exercise of
these rights and their consistency and inconsistency with Islam and Islamic law. The
main objective of this study is to prove that a coherent and logical conceptual
framework of ownership of intellectual property can be derived from an Islamic
perspective which not only offers the basis of rights but also defines the scope of
these rights. From the point of ownership of rights, support can be obtained from the
normative framework of property rights within the traditional classification of 'mal'
(property) and 'haqq al-milkiyyah' (ownership rights) under Islamic law. From the
point of exercise of rights, the exact scope can be defined from the analysis of
fundamental concepts which have been developed by Muslim jurists. It has been
established that Islam and Islamic law offers a sound and systematic paradigm, which
in deeper analysis, can satisfy both our current obligations under international
treatises, as well as our responsibility to practise our religion to the fullest
This study was about The Influence of thought of Hasan Al-Banna and Mohammad Natsir towards Islamic politic in Indonesia, the research methodology was qualitative research with three approaches; political approach, historical approach and the Islamic worldview approach. The aim of this study was to study and research the influence of thought of Hasan Al-Banna (1906-1949) and Mohammad Natsir (1908-1993) towards Islamic politics in Indonesia, afterwards conducted the analytical comparison as method of investigation. The author chose the two leading figures as the object of the study simply because they were among the foremost leaders in the twenty centuries. Hasan Al-Banna with his organization of Ikhwanul Muslimin often carried out the change in Egypt especially and giving the influence in many other Muslim countries including Indonesia. Likewise Mohammad Natsir with his political party well known as Partai Masyumi and the Dewan Dakwah Islamiyah Indonesia (DDII), gave newly revival of the Islamic development & teaching in Indonesia. In comparing of the two leading figures, the author considered had several equalities that covered of vision and the mission about Islamic politics, the concept of democracy in Islam and concerning political education. Generally both of them had the similarity of the concept of Islamic politics, that nation must be uphold on the basic of Islamic principle. There was no way for both that there is separation between the religion and politics, between Islam and the government's system. Further the author revealed their differences which were due to technical aspects or different political situation on the concept of khilafah, the political experience, the implementation of Islamic legal systems, political education and the Islamic system towards political party. At the end of this study, the author made the conclusion and some input to be taken into consideration to the academician, the Islamic leader, the scholars and all Moslems

iiABSTRACT
EDUCATION IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION (RELIGIOUS-RASIONAL) STUDY OF FIGURES MOHAMMAD NATSIR AND HARUN NASUTION
Education is a black and white pattern of one's life journey. In Islamic teachings it has been determined that education is one of the activities that are obligatory for both men and women, and is very much needed for life. According to Ahmad Tafsir in general the purpose of education is a good human being. This position has indirectly placed education as an inseparable part of life and human life.
One of the challenges of Islamic education today is the dichotomy of science, meaning that there is a separation between religious sciences and world sciences which deny each other. Therefore, the author then discusses the thoughts of Indonesian Muslim figures and intellectuals who try to formulate educators in more moderate (religious-rational) Islamic education in accordance with the expectations of religion, nation and state, namely Mohammad Natsir and Harun Nasution. Therefore, the author takes the title "Educators in Islamic Education (Religious- Rational) Study of the Characters of Mohammad Natsir and Harun Nasution".
The formulation of the problem in this study are (1) What is the Nature of Educators in Religious-Rational Islamic Education? (2) What are the Characteristics of Educators in Religious-Rational Islamic Education? (3) What are the Duties of Educators in Religious-Rational Islamic Education? In this research approach using a qualitative approach with the type of research is library research. Part of the primary data is the work of Mohammad Natsir and Harun Nasution, while the secondary data is the literature that supports primary data. Data collection techniques using library techniques, while data analysis techniques using content analysis.
From the findings, the authors found that there are similarities in the thoughts of Mohammad Natsir and Harun Nasution about educators, both of which emphasize that an educator must have high analytical power with a balance between reason and revelation, religious and rational, and dhikr and thought. So that an educator can create the next generation of civilization that puts these two aspects forward and no longer argues and dichotomizes between worldly and ukhrowi aspects.

DSIT UNet a dual stream iterative transformer based UNet architecture for segmenting brain tumors from FLAIR MRI images
Brain tumor segmentation remains challenging in medical imaging with conventional therapies and rehabilitation owing to the complex morphology and heterogeneous nature of tumors. Although convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have advanced medical image segmentation, they struggle with long-range dependencies because of their limited receptive fields. We propose Dual-Stream Iterative Transformer UNet (DSIT-UNet), a novel framework that combines Iterative Transformer (IT) modules with a dual-stream encoder-decoder architecture. Our model incorporates a transformed spatial-hybrid attention optimization (TSHAO) module to enhance multiscale feature interactions and balance local details with the global context. We evaluated DSIT-UNet using three benchmark datasets: The Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA) from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), BraTS2020, and BraTS2021. On TCIA, our model achieved a Mean Intersection over Union of 95.21%, mean Dice Coefficient of 96.23%, precision of 95.91%, and recall of 96.55%. BraTS2020 attained a Mean IoU of 95.88%, mDice of 96.32%, precision of 96.21%, and recall of 96.44%, surpassing the performance of the existing methods. The superior results of DSIT-UNet demonstrate its effectiveness in capturing tumor boundaries and improving segmentation robustness through hierarchical attention mechanisms and multiscale feature extraction. This architecture advances automated brain tumor segmentation, with potential applications in clinical neuroimaging and future extensions to 3D volumetric segmentation
Abstract : The purpose of this dissertation is to understand the dynamics of today's Iranian political system, designed and built during the 1970s and 1980s. From a series of confrontations with the monarchy, which caused several moments of tension in the country and weakened the role of the Shah, the Iranian political system and the entire model of social organization began to be questioned and rethought. Many were the prominent personalities in this process, including Khomeini, who, with his charismatic speech, managed to gather around him different groups and social classes in Iran, strengthening his project of Islamic government by rescuing the essence of Islam. Therefore, Khomeini and his major works were used as source of research for the construction of this study. In addition, many were the intellectuals, researchers and scientists who followed the events in Iran at the time, among them Michel Foucault, who traveled the country and wrote, in excited manner, about the testimony of the idea of political spirituality in Iran. Foucault is one of the authors used in this work, aiming mainly to suggest a new way of interpreting the Iranian event. Equally important was the contact with Islamic authors such as Ali Gheissari, Vali Nasr, Benazir Bhutto, Sayyid Abdul A'la Al - Maudidi , among others. These authors were critical to keep this work within its main purpose: to present a non-ethnocentric version of Iranian revolutionary movement and its outcomes. After the 1979 Iranian Revolution, these factors - the role of Khomeini, the rescue of traditional and political Islam and concept of political spirituality -were and are fundamental to make us understand the emergence of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian new political system. Understand the specifics of Muslim society that unfold in a new way of being, of experiencing, is essential for understanding the dynamics and tensions of many Muslim countries and their relations with the West

This research is library research and the data source used consists of primary data sources of Mohammad Natsir's works related to the Integral Movement and Indonesian Unity, and is assisted by secondary data sources, namely books, which are relevant to this research to strengthen arguments and to complete the data from the research results. The data analysis technique used by the author in this research is content analysis. The results that the author got from this study are that Natsir's Integral Motion has a big and important influence on Indonesia. Not only does it unite Indonesia, but it also has a significant influence in the fields of politics, economics, education and international relations. Based on these findings, the author hopes that there will be further studies on Natsir's integral motion, so that it can become material for reflection and discussion together
Hakikat kewujudan syarikat Islam sebagai sebuah entiti / Mohammad Zaid Daud@Daud Yatimee
This Project Paper is written for the sake of deepen the knowledge of the author
and others with regard to the unsolved issues those may be answerable by the
contemporary Islamic Jurists whether the existence of an entity can be considered as a different entity from a human being. It has several characteristics which is quite similar in
nature which belong to the human being and not the entity which differed from human
being. The elaboration will be from the angle of definition, history, development, original
nas, analogy and opinions from the contemporary Islamic Jurists. The author personally
considers that this issue is the backbone of the banking issues nowadays. Just imagine
that our contemporary Islamic Jurist argued limited only to the Islamic Banking
Transaction despite the main issue of the existence of the Bank as separate legal entity
itself has not been answered. This Project Paper will endeavor to study in great depth in
order to satisfy the readers' even though the definite answer may be not find by the
author. That is the beauty of Islam in fact. The need for ljtihad based on knowledge and
not based on desire and satisfaction alone
Liberal theory and Islam: (re)imagining the interaction of religion, law, state and society in Muslim contexts
Within the global phenomenon of the (re)emergence of religion into issues of public debate, one of the most salient issues confronting contemporary Muslim societies is how to relate the legal and political heritage that developed in pre-modern Islamic polities to the political order of the modern states in which Muslims now live.
This study seeks to develop a framework for addressing this issue by drawing upon two sources. The first is an interpretative understanding of the history of Muslim contexts emphasising, in particular, the diversity of views about what Islam mandates that have always been a part of Muslim experience and the distinction between political and religio-legal authority that developed in practice in these environments. The second source is a variety of contemporary liberal theory which this study develops and calls ‘justice as discourse’.
The central argument is that liberal theory, and justice as discourse in particular, though it may have emerged in a different social and cultural milieu, can be normatively useful in Muslim contexts for relating, religion, law, state and society. It is argued first, that Muslim contexts are facing issues similar to those out of which liberal theory emerged. Additionally, it is argued that both Muslim contexts and liberal theory are dynamic and continually developing and that this shared dynamism means that there may be space for convergence of the two. Just as Muslim contexts have developed historically (and continue to develop today) the same is the case with the requisites of liberal theory and this may allow for liberal choices to be made in a manner that is not a renunciation of Muslim heritage
Ibadism in Oman and developments in the field of Christian – Muslim relationships
The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between Christians and the IbadT of Oman, as a contribution to Christian-Muslim dialogue. The main focus is an assessment of the contribution offered in the past by the small missionary presence, and of the potential scope and areas of dialogue between the recent guest-worker Christian community, and their hosts - a Muslim country growing in international status. The thesis tells the story of a dynamic engagement in dialogue. The history, customs and beliefs of the country will be outlined, with particular emphasis on meeting points with Christian missionaries. The History of the Imams and Seyyids of Oman by SalTl bin Razlk, translated by CP. Badger and published in 1871, is the source of several more recent works consulted. The Journal of the Arabian Mission of the Reformed Church of America, Neglected Arabia/ Arabia Calling: 1892-1962 and the quarterly The Muslim World (from 1911) have been among other main sources. Some of the many books and articles by Samuel Zwemer have been read; he visited Muscat in Oman on several occasions - his brother Peter contracting a fatal illness while serving there. The IbadT believe their understanding of Islam to be close to that of the Prophet Muhammad; individual in faith, they fiercely claim to be orthodox in their interpretation of the Our'an and they are quick to speak out when they think Its essential tenets are being compromised. They can therefore perhaps afford to be relaxed when it comes to living alongside those who are not themselves IbadT and are willing to listen to them with an open mind. Their courteous meeting with the Christians they welcome to their country offers clues in the wider field of Christian-Muslim relations
