Grounding DINO: Marrying DINO with Grounded Pre-training for Open-Set Object Detection
No full textIn this paper, we develop an open-set object detector, called Grounding DINO, by marrying Transformer-based detector DINO with grounded pre-training, which can detect arbitrary objects with human inputs such as category names or referring expressions. The key solution of open-set object detection is introducing language to a closed-set detector for open-set concept generalization. To effectively fuse language and vision modalities, we conceptually divide a closed-set detector into three phases and propose a tight fusion solution, which includes a feature enhancer, a language-guided query selection, and a cross-modality decoder for modalities fusion. We first pre-train Grounding DINO on large-scale datasets, including object detection data, grounding data, and caption data, and evaluate the model on both open-set object detection and referring object detection benchmarks. Grounding DINO performs remarkably well on all three settings, including benchmarks on COCO, LVIS, ODinW, and RefCOCO/+/g. Grounding DINO achieves a 52.5 AP on the COCO zero-shot (In this paper, ‘zero-shot’ refers to scenarios where the training split of the test dataset is not utilized in the training process) detection benchmark. It sets a new record on the ODinW zero-shot benchmark with a mean 26.1 AP. alle parti, cioè unificare la fase sommaria e quella eventuale di opposizione, anche senza il consenso delle parti e senza neppure esplicitare alle stesse l’esercizio di tale facoltà. Viene poi esaminata la regola della prevalenza della sostanza sulla forma del provvedimento, utilizzata impropriamente per imporre alla parte l’onere di verificare se la decisione ha i caratteri della decisorietà e definitività, per correttamente scegliere il mezzo di impugnazione, con il rischio di «trovarsi tra le sedie», ben potendo il giudice dell’impugnazione essere di contrario avviso.
Abstract. The Author analyzes the judge’s faculty to do what is forbidden to the parties: to unify the summary phase and the possible opposition phase, also without the parties’ consent and without informing them about that. Then, the essay includes an exam of the principle concerning the preference for the substance against form, which, the Author believes, is used to compulse the parties to verify if the decision has got the features of “definitività” and “decisorietà”, in order to choose the correct remedy. The Author believes that the described situation put the parties in front of a difficult choice, with the risk, for them, to “standing between the chairs”, in particular considering that the appeal court may not agree

The author focuses especially on the many articles by Provenzal published in L’Italia che scrive, the journal by Angelo Fortunato Formiggini, between 1922 and 1938.Il saggio esamina la ricca produzione e le riflessioni dello scrittore Dino Provenzal (1877-1972) sul suo rapporto con la lettura e sul mondo dei libri, i comportamenti dei lettori, le inadeguatezze delle biblioteche in Italia tra le due guerre. Appraisal System in GoGo Dino Indonesian Lyric
No full textMovies or stories with superheroes theme always give color to the hearts of the audience. GoGo Dino film, which is an animated cartoon series from South Korea, also provides an excellent color to the audience. This study aims to analyze the Appraisal System used in the opening song lyrics of the Indonesian version of the GoGo Dino cartoon series. The research data obtained were then analyzed using Martin and White’s Appraisal System theory. Researchers used qualitative descriptive methods in explaining the results of the study. It can be seen that in the lyrics of the song, the author of the lyrics implements less use of affect and uses more judgment. The Judgment implementation shows that a person, or in this case, a superhero, is valued by his behavior parameters. From the behavior parameters, it can bring up the effect of affect which is a person’s reaction to the behavior

No full textDino Carina (1836-1872), studioso toscano di economia e di politica scolastica, a partire dagli anni Sessanta dell’Ottocento compie diversi “viaggi pedagogici” in Francia, Belgio, Germania e Inghilterra. È autore di diversi lavori riguardanti l’educazione comparata: Sulla istruzione primaria e industriale della Francia, dell'Inghilterra, del Belgio (1861), Della istruzione primaria e industriale considerata nelle sue relazioni colla pubblica economia. Nuovi studi comparativi (1868), Dell’ozio in Italia (1870). Ciò nonostante, è un autore ancora poco conosciuto e studiato.
In questo articolo si prende in considerazione il suo contributo al processo di sviluppo degli studi comparativi in educazione in Italia negli anni dell’unificazione nazionale. In particolare, si focalizza l’attenzione sul suo interesse per il contesto socio-politico-culturale nel quale nascono e si modificano i sistemi d’istruzione e per i diversi fattori – e, anzitutto, quello economico-produttivo – che rivestono un ruolo chiave nell’organizzazione dei sistemi d’istruzione.Dino Carina (1836-1872) is a Tuscan scholar of economics and of school policy; starting from the Sixties of the Nineteenth Century, he performs several journeys made in order to study the educational situations existing outside Italy (France, Belgium, Germany and England). He’s the author of several comparative education studies (e.g. Sulla istruzione primaria e industriale della Francia, dell'Inghilterra, del Belgio, 1861; Della istruzione primaria e industriale considerata nelle sue relazioni colla pubblica economia. Nuovi studi comparative, 1868; Dell’ozio in Italia, 1870). Nevertheless, Dino Carina is an author still little known and studied.
This paper considers his contribution to the process of development of comparative education studies in Italy in the years of the national unification. In particular, attention is focused on his interest in the socio-political and cultural environment in which education systems are born and modified and to the various factors – first of all the economic factor-productive – which play a key role in the organization of education systems

tutta la sua vita, e parallelamente pittore, disegnatore, illustratore; inoltre
in alcune stagioni è stato cronista d'arte, sceneggiatore e scenografo, seppure con impegno e intensità diversi. La necessità più volte manifestata da Dino Buzzati di autolegittimare il proprio doppio talento,e in particolare la propria pittura accanto alla scrittura, può fornire alcune chiavi di lettura per affrontare la questione più generale dell'istanza autoriale nella Doppelbegabung. La sua
doppia consapevolezza artistica e la difficile accettazione della stessa da
parte della critica ha indotto Buzzati a dovere difendere la sua passione per
la pittura e il disegno e a utilizzare varie strategie di autolegittimazione per
essere riconosciuto un autore dal doppio talento.Buzzati was an artist of multiple talents: a journalist and writer for
his entire life, and at the same time a painter, draughtsman and illustrator; furthermore,
in some seasons he was an art chronicler, scriptwriter and set designer, albeit with different commitment and intensity. Dino Buzzati's frequently expressed need to self-validate his double talent, and in particular his painting alongside his writing, may provide some keys to addressing the more general issue of the authorial instance in the Doppelbegabung. His dual artistic awareness and the difficult acceptance of it by critics led Buzzati to have to defend his passion for
painting and drawing and to use various strategies of self-legitimisation in order to be recognised as an author of dual talent
