    Migrationsgesellschaftliche Geschichtsbeziehungen zum Nationalsozialismus

This contribution sketches societal conditions for an up-to-date work of remembrance in the context of our current experience in migration societies, and analyses self-images of migration society in the sense of a construction of an ‘us’ as well as phenomena of secondary antisemitism. Also, the memorial practices within a European remembrance of the history of National Socialism are examined within this context. Memorial practices in migration societies are understood as multi-perspective constructs of relational history. The author argues from her own West German context; similarities and differences to the Austrian situation remain to be discussed

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Das Geschlecht der Migration – Bildungsprozesse in Ungleichheitsverhältnissen

The authors offer discourse-critical analyses on the gender-related theme of migration in public discourse. They present methodological considerations for researching educational processes in the migration society and open up possibilities for action against discrimination and for self-determination. This is based on the following questions: How can gender reflecters contribute to the development of educational concepts that are directed against national-cultural unambiguities and come closer to the realities of globalised societies with their manifold affiliations? And how do the structural conditions of migration affect gender relations and educational opportunities
