Grammar-Land Or, Grammar in Fun For The Children of Schoolroom-Shire
Grammar-Land by M. L. Nesbitt is an allegorical story designed to teach English grammar to children in a "fun" way. Aimed at "the children of Schoolroom-shire," the book explains grammatical rules through events that take place in the fictional country of "Grammar-land". In this land, the Parts of Speech are personified as characters in a court ruled by Judge Grammar. The main characters include the wealthy Mr. Noun (with his family "Common" and "Proper"), his helper Mr. Adjective, the placeholder Mr. Pronoun, the "little Article" (A, An, The), and the powerful Dr. Verb. The story progresses through courtroom dialogues where these characters argue about their roles, importance, and relationships (such as Adjective's service to Noun or Pronoun's role in replacing Noun). Through this entertaining personification, Nesbitt aims to make complex grammar rules memorable and enjoyable for young learners.M.

III. Gli Acarididi (Hemisarcoptidae Oudemans, Acaridae Ewing & Nesbitt, Saproglyphidae Oudemans e Glycyphagidae Berlese)
The author presents the III contribution on citrus mites in Italy, referring it to the suborder Acaridida with the families Acaridae Ewing & Nesbitt, Hemisarcoptidae Oudemans, Saproglyphidae Oudemans and Glycyphagidae Berlese. Tue fundamental morphologic aspects and the relative biology notes for each group are reported. Within the family Acaridae the new subspecies Thyreophagus entomophagus italicus is described.L\u27autore presenta il III contributo sugli Acari degli agrumi in Italia relativo al sottordine Acaridida con le famiglie Acaridae Ewing & Nesbitt, Hemisarcoptidae Oudemans, Saproglyphidae Oudemans e Glycyphagidae Berlese. Per ogni gruppo vengono presentati gli aspetti morfologici fondamentali e le relative note di biologia. Research report: Studying the religious socialization of Sikh and 'mixed-faith' youth in Britain: contexts and issues
Against a backdrop of phases of Sikh settlement in the UK, this article provides an overview of scholarship on UK Sikh communities. Attention turns to four ethnographic studies conducted by the author, two of which focused on unambiguously Sikh communities, and two of which challenge presuppositions of the boundedness of faith communities. Of these one was a study of two historically stigmatised caste-specific Punjabi communities; the other is currently examining the religious identity formation of young people in families in which only one parent is Sikh. Pointers and questions are identified that arise from these UK studies for researchers in mainland Europe. These include methodological considerations and encouragement to contribute to debates in the sociology of religion and to take account of Sikhs' increasing appearance in creative literature

(1986).Author Institution: Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics, National Bureau of Standards and University of ColoradoRacant improvements in sensitivity have permitted us to extend infrared studies of ArHF to encompass all of the low-frequency bending and stretching vibrations of the excited HF(v-l) potential surface. Accurate vibrational term values, and rotational and centrifugal distortion constants are now known for the ground state , and the van der Waals stretch . the HF stretch , and combinations of the HF stretch with the van der waals stretch . the bend , the bend . and the van der Waals stretch overtone . listed in order of increasing energy
THE ROTATIONAL RKR METHOD
M. S. Child and D. J. Nesbitt, Chem. Phys. Lett. (in press).Author Institution: Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics, National Bureau of Standards and University of Colorado at BoulderIn the rapidly growing field of high resolution infrared spectroscopy of van der Waals complexes, one often obtains a wealth of rotational information for a single vibrational state. A new RKR based Method is described for extracting one dimensional potentials via inversion of high precision data on rotational energy levels alone. This method proves remarkably successful at quantitatively reproducing intermolecular potentials from rotational data for I) weakly bound (e.g. model van der Waals complexes) and ii) strongly bound (e.g. rotational levels of molecules
