Avaliação da vulnerabilidade socioambiental de favelas e comunidades urbanas: o caso da favela do São Conrado – Aracaju - SE
No full textFavelas and urban communities are characterized by a lack of essential public services, irregularities in urban patterns, and occupation of areas with restricted housing. These conditions can affect the physical, social, and psychological development of residents because they are essential for quality of life and human dignity. This thesis is part of the field of urban planning, addressing the contradictions and inefficiency that manifest themselves in urban areas, particularly those with greater socio-environmental vulnerability. The central hypothesis confirmed is that the inefficiency of public policies and urban planning results in socio-environmental vulnerabilities for residents of these areas. To verify this hypothesis, this work had as its general objective to determine the Socio-environmental Vulnerability Index of the Favela and Urban Community of São Conrado, in Aracaju-SE. This index was formulated from an unprecedented methodological adaptation, based on the method of Calório (1997) combined with Faccioli and Gomes (2021) through data from the social, environmental, and economic dimensions, infrastructure, and habitability. The data collected through fieldwork and photographic records allowed the selection of indicators that determined the Socio- Environmental Vulnerability Index, represented in an integrated manner in a single diagram. Among the results, the socioeconomic dimension stood out, with indicators such as incomplete secondary education and income below 15.91% of the minimum wage being identified as the greatest vulnerabilities. In addition, the risk of flooding also contributed to the vulnerability of the studied area. The Socio-Environmental Vulnerability Index of Slums and Urban Communities presented a value of 56.50%, indicating a moderate level of vulnerability. The results confirmed the effectiveness and applicability of the unprecedented methodology, which represents an innovative advance in the analysis of socio-environmental vulnerability and can be replicated in different urban contexts. It is expected that this study will contribute to urban sustainability and provide support for Municipal Secretariats in updating the Urban Development Master Plan and in formulating more appropriate public policies. It is concluded that the problem of the São Conrado favela is associated with several combinations of vulnerability, and therefore it is necessary to treat it in a multidimensional way by the public authorities and social agents, integrating efforts on several fronts, such as education, income, basic sanitation, urbanization and housing policies.As favelas e comunidades urbanas são caracterizadas por carências de serviços públicos essenciais, irregularidades no padrão urbanístico e ocupação de áreas com restrição à habitação. Esta tese insere-se no campo do planejamento urbano, abordando as contradições e a ineficiência que se manifestam em áreas urbanas, particularmente aquelas com maior vulnerabilidade socioambiental. planejamento urbano resulta em fragilidades socioambientais aos moradores dessas áreas. Para verificar essa hipótese, este trabalho teve como objetivo geral determinar o Índice de Vulnerabilidade Socioambiental da Favela e Comunidade Urbana do São Conrado, em Aracaju–SE. Dentre os resultados, a dimensão socioeconômica se destacou, com indicadores como ensino médio incompleto e renda inferior a 15,91% do salário mínimo sendo identificados como as maiores vulnerabilidades. Além disso, o risco de inundação também se mostrou contribuinte à vulnerabilidade da área estudada. O Índice de Vulnerabilidade Socioambiental de Favelas e Comunidades Urbanas apresentou um valor de 56,50%, indicando um nível moderado de vulnerabilidade. Os resultados confirmaram a eficácia e a aplicabilidade da metodologia inédita, que representa um avanço inovador na análise da vulnerabilidade socioambiental e pode ser replicada em diferentes contextos urbanos. Espera-se que este estudo contribua para a sustentabilidade urbana e ofereça subsídios para as Secretarias Municipais na atualização do Plano Diretor de Desenvolvimento Urbano e na formulação de políticas públicas mais adequadas. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
