    No full text
The case focuses on the predicament of Aamir Raheem, the founder and owner of Memon Lubricants, a dealership for Shell Pakistan, in Sukkur. Aamir needed to make some managerial decisions to improve the process for recruiting salespersons for his new dealership branch, located in Khairpur, which is at31 km from Sukkur. Given the constraints of a tight budget, availability, and the need to complete the recruitment quickly, Aamir had to adopt a better recruitment process than the one he had used when hiring employees at his first branch (at Station Road, Sukkur). Aamir was faced with various challenges, including (1) identifying the knowledge, skills, and attitude he needed to look for in potential salespersons; (2) encouraging the appropriate candidates to apply for the job opening; and (3) improving the process to be followed for recruitment. The case is focused on the evaluation of various alternatives in order to meet Memon Lubricants’ staffing requirements

The history of fiction translation in Urdu Language is not veryold and one of the able translator we see in this history isMUHAMMAD UMAR MEMON. The element of creativity canbe seen prominently in its translations. He adapted the works ofArabic, French, English, Czech writers into Urdu style such away that due to the rare use of similes, the meaning was freedfrom the confines of the text even for the Urdu Readers. Themain merit of MemonLs translations is that while having acreative element, do not depart form the source text so that thestory reach the target in that style the author intended. Thepleasant style in which the complicated plot story is welladopted to the target language is a proof of its trustworthiness

Muhammad Umer Memon argues that ambiguity and the elusive nature of meaning in texts are a challenge for any translator. Any given text, especially literary fiction can have more than one reading, inducing a different effect in different readers. Moreover, a translation is always meant for a specific society; its cultural peculiarities and nuances are for a particular period or age. Therefore translations of the same text are bound to vary. The translator’s own personality, experience and skill also matter. Punctuation in modern western fiction has demands of its own. The article studies a translator’s journey through such challenges

Pseudo-neoplastic Lesions of Prostate and the Diagnostic Deception

    No full text
Introduction: Many pseudo-neoplastic lesions of the prostate gland are recognized. Histologically these lesions mimic the adenocarcinoma of prostate. Pseudo-neoplastic lesions comprise of different glandular and non-glandular or solid patterns. Largely emphasized on the epithelial origin but some stromal and solid lesions are also important. In developing countries, the routine Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stain is most commonly used to stain the histological tissue sections. The other stains and molecular studies are not frequently used. The pseudoneoplastic lesions are so obscure and deceptive that sometimes it become very difficult to recognize. The diagnostic facilities both in government and private sector should have at least the facility of immunohistochemical staging to avoid misinterpretations. Methodology: This retrospective study performed at Muhammad Medical College Mirpurkhas Sindh. 192 specimens of radical prostatectomy (RP) and transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) received between January 2015 to December 2017 were retrieved for review. All retrieved blocks processed as per standard histopathological techniques. Fresh tissue sections taken and stained with H&E. Results: All tissue sections reviewed to observe the glandular patterns, their architectural morphology, cytological changes and inflammatory process. The lesions were distinguished on epithelial origin and glandular patterns. Cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia were 169 (88 %), adenosis 06 (3.12 %), reactive hyperplasia 06 (3.12 %), Post atrophic hyperplasia 05 (2.6 %), benign stromal proliferation 02 (1 %) and prostate carcinoma 04 (2%). Conclusion: Many pseudoneoplastic lesions of the prostate are the mimicker of adenocarcinoma. On H&E stains it sometimes become difficult to differentiate the lesions. The histomorphological diagnosis of these lesions should be facilitated at least by immunohistochemical stains at diagnostic tcenters.t   Keywords: Immunohistochemistry, Transurethral resection of prostate (TURP), Radical prostatectomy (RP).
