Planning of the Environmental Management System Based on NTC ISO 14001:2015 for the Company Geodesign S.A.S.
No full textDigitalEl presente trabajo corresponde a la práctica profesional realizada por el estudiante Sergio Andrés Quintero Celis en la empresa Geodesign S.A.S., durante tres meses y medio, entre febrero y mayo del año 2025. El objetivo principal fue planificar un Sistema de Gestión Ambiental (SGA) con base en los lineamientos de la Norma Técnica Colombiana ISO 14001:2015, ajustado a las necesidades y contexto operativo de la organización.
La planificación se llevó a cabo mediante un cronograma técnico estructurado, que incluyó el análisis de procesos internos, la identificación de actividades con potencial impacto ambiental, y la recopilación de la normatividad ambiental aplicable. A partir de esto, se evaluaron aspectos e impactos ambientales, y se diseñaron programas de gestión enfocados en la eficiencia energética, la gestión del recurso hídrico, la gestión de residuos no peligrosos y el manejo adecuado de los Residuos de Aparatos Eléctricos y Electrónicos (RAEE).
Este proceso permitió establecer las bases para una futura implementación del sistema, aportando a la empresa una herramienta estratégica orientada al cumplimiento normativo, la mejora continua y la sostenibilidad ambiental. Además, fomenta una cultura organizacional comprometida con la gestión responsable de los recursos y la prevención de la contaminación, al tiempo que fortalece la imagen corporativa y la confianza de sus partes interesadas.
Las actividades de las empresas consultoras en Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG) y estudios ambientales en Colombia representan una herramienta para la planificación territorial, la gestión de los recursos naturales y la toma de decisiones basadas en datos, sin embargo, estas actividades deben ir acompañadas de un compromiso real con la sostenibilidad. La planificación e implementación de un SGA en las empresas del sector no solo garantiza el cumplimiento normativo, sino que promueve prácticas responsables en el uso de tecnología, la gestión de residuos y la eficiencia en el consumo de recursos.The present work the professional internship completed by student Sergio Andrés Quintero Celis at Geodesign S.A.S. over three and a half months, from February to May 2025. The primary objective was to plan an Environmental Management System (EMS) for the company, based on the guidelines of the Colombian Technical Standard ISO 14001:2015, tailored to the specific needs and operational context of the organization.
The planning process was carried out according to a pre-established technical schedule that included activities such as analyzing the company’s services and processes, identifying potential environmental interactions, and evaluating both positive and negative environmental aspects and impacts. Additionally, applicable environmental regulations were compiled and analyzed, and based on this information, specific management programs were developed, focused on energy efficiency, water resource management, non-hazardous waste management, and proper handling of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
This process laid the foundation for the future implementation of the EMS, providing the company with a strategic tool to strengthen its environmental commitment, facilitate responsible decision-making, and structure a management system oriented towards risk mitigation, resource optimization, and compliance with environmental legislation. Moreover, it fosters an organizational culture dedicated to responsible resource management and pollution prevention, while enhancing corporate image and building trust with stakeholders.
The activities carried out by consulting firms in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental studies in Colombia represent a valuable tool for territorial planning, natural resource management, and data-driven decision-making; however, these activities must be accompanied by a genuine commitment to sustainability. The planning and implementation of an EMS in companies within the sector not only ensures regulatory compliance but also promotes responsible practices in technology use, waste management, and resource consumption efficiency.Introducción 18

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
