Analysis of Product Quality Improvement through Kaizen and DMAIC Method in Rubber Sole Manufacturing
The development of the non-oil and gas industry in the current era of globalization is growing. Therefore, every companies should be able to compete strictly with other companies that produce the same products. To be able to survive in business competition, maintaining quality product and reducing waste is an absolute thing that should be done by the company. Apart from maintaining product quality, companies could be also make savings in the production process, one of which is by applying the Kaizen Method so that the resulting product does not have a high reject rate so that waste on the use of raw materials can be limited according to company standards. The company has a quality control system but has not implemented yet DMAIC method. PT. X is a labor intensive industry which is engaged in the business of produce rubber sole. This research used the Kaizen and (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improvement and Control) DMAIC method. This study aims to reduce the percentage of C grade rubber sole maximum to 3% as the company standards. The approach used in saving the use of raw materials is to use the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improvement and Control (DMAIC) method. Analysis of the results obtained by applying the method of DMAIC is the improvement of the quality of rubber sole. The results of this study are the percentage of C grade rubber before improvement is 5.5%, DPMO value is 10.395 and t Sigma is 3.80 and after improvement are the percentage of C grade rubber outsole is decreased to 2.9%, DPMO value is 7.278.81 with t Sigma value is 3.95
Posture Analysis Using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) & Nordic Body Map (NBM) Methods to Reduce the Risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in Automotive Company
This study aims to identify the operator's posture at work, determine the factors that influence the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) complaints, and give suggestions for improving the postures. The method used in the research is Nordic Body Map (NBM) and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). Material handling processes carried out by some operator's production in the line press magazine stamping could be affected body postures. If the company does not carry out an analysis of the situation, it could be impacting the risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders for the operator who is working in this area. Process manual handling was carried out 4800 cycles in a day (8 hours of work) with a bent posture, causing complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The results of Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire processing results scored 75 and 81 points, and the second activity was the REBA assessment when the operator took material from the train. The REBA score was 8. The results of this study have high scores for NBMs and REBAs, requiring investigation and changing work attitudes
Analysis of Effectiveness Measurement of Stretch Blow Machine Using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Method
This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the Stretch Blow machine at PT. X by calculating the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value. Stretch Blow Machine is one of the machines used in the manufacturing process of plastic bottles. These machines often suffer damage so that targets and product quality are often not achieved. The purpose of this study was to determine the most dominant factor of the Six Big Losses on the Stretch Blow Machine. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Based on the results of data processing and analysis, it shows that the average value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness OEE for the period January 2017-December 2017 is 43.89%, while the OEE World Class Value is> 85%. For that it is necessary to do research using quality control tools, namely Pareto and fishbone diagrams. The results of the data analysis with the Pareto diagram found that the largest Idling Minor and Stoppage Losses is 39.28%. The causes of Idling Minor and Stoppage Loses based on the results of the fishbone diagram analysis are lack of mechanical operator skills, unavailable engine spare parts, machine maintenance schedules are not running and the quality of engine spare parts is not suitable. The improvement plan of the factors causing Idling Minor and Stoppage Loses using 5W + 1H have to be implemented so that the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value of the Stretch Blow Machine could be increased.
 
A Study of Customer Satisfaction in Administration Procedure at Food Testing Laboratory by SERVQUAL Method
Food Testing Laboratory is the agency that provides services of testing samples of the Original farm. The measurement of customer satisfaction in this instance has not been detected according to the value of the interests of the customer. This study aims to learn the level of customer satisfaction according to the views of customers and find what things need to be evaluated for quality improvement. The research on the methods of dimension 5 uses their Service Quality, i.e. reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, empathy and also physical evidence. Customer satisfaction measurement is done with the dissemination of a questionnaire on 64 respondents. The results have been analyzed using SERVQUAL method and Diagram of Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) that is processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS Software obtained that 19% of customers have been feeling very satisfied with the services provided while 81% were satisfied. Quality improvement priority also needs to be done for 2-dimensional variable guarantee with priority improvements to the 9th variable
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. ANALYSIS OF WATER QUALITY TO INDUSTRIAL AND RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AREA IN BOGOR, WEST JAVA, INDONESIA (A CASE STUDY)
This study aims to determine the water quality of industrial sector development in Bogor Regency. Water
quality was analyzed based on the measurement of water samples of acidity (pH), Total Disolved Solids (TDS), and water temperature (Temperature). Water samples are taken periodically in residential and industrial areas for two months. The average result of measurement of residential area water samples; pH 8.38, TDS 95.25 ppm, and temperature 30.8ᵒC. Average yield of industrial area measurement; pH 8.81, TDS 171.88 ppm, and temperature 31.81°C . From the data, it can be concluded that water quality in residential areas is still feasible to be consumed, while water in industrial areas is not feasible for consumption. This determination refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Health No.416/MEN.KES/PER/IX/1990 on the provision and monitoring of water quality
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
