    No full text
The airport terminal is one of buildings with complex energy needs. Most of the airport terminals in Indonesia are designed with regional architectural features, such as pitched or joglo roofs and exterior wall materials made of brick with paint finish. The new airport is designed with modern architectural characteristics with flat and curved roofs and outer walls made of Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP). The difference of shape, material, and the size of fenestration affects the thermal performance of the building and affects the cooling energy used. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of roof designs on airport terminals in Indonesia that have different characteristics on the use of cooling energy. The effect of roof design on cooling energy analyzed by using Design Builder simulation. The simulation results show that the combination of red tile pitched roof and flat concrete roof with insulation in airport terminal building with Indonesian characteristics has the lowest cooling energy performance

    No full text
When a page fault occurs, the operating system has to choose a page to remove from memory to make room for the page that has to be brought in. The page replacement is done by swapping the required pages from backup storage to main memory and vice-versa. When a new page needs memory for allocation, page replacement algorithms decide which pages to swap out of the memory. In this paper, a comparison and analysis of five replacement algorithms: First in First out (FIFO), Least Recently Used (LRU),  Clock, Most Recently Used algorithm (MRU), and Optimal Page Replacement (OPT) are made

The increasing need for organizations to keep a high level of synchronization around the world and the coming of new advancements are pushing increasingly more to move decision-making and operational power from the focus of associations to their edges. The blockchain could be the critical innovation to roll out this improvement conceivable. A blockchain is essentially a distributed database of records or public ledger of all transactions or digital events that have been executed and shared among participating parties. Blockchain is pleased with the fact that it provides high satisfaction and a trust bond to its users. Data immutability, decentralization, anonymity, auditability, and transparency are the main features that make blockchain an attractive technology. This paper presents a study of blockchain technology to provide a comprehensive analysis that includes types, architecture, components, characteristics, and applications of blockchain

Study of Origin, Geology and Geochemical Classification of the Granitoids of Imori Area, North Central Nigeria

    No full text
Two distinct generations of granitiods in terms of space and time were identified in the Imori fields of north-central Nigeria. The first generation is the Older Pan-Africa calc-alkaline granite suites (OPACG) which comprise the migmatite-gneiss and the porphyritic hornblende-biotite granite. The second group is the Younger Mesozoic alkali granite suites (YMAG). This comprises rhyolite, biotite granite, and arfvedsonite granite. The OPACG suites are characterized by depletion in SiO2 ranging from 63.30 wt % - 68.38 wt % as compared to the YMAG suites which range from 70.41 wt % - 79.14 wt %. In addition, the OPACG suites are characterized by higher concentrations of MgO, fe2O3, Al2O3, TiO2, CaO, and Sr as compared to the YMAG suites. The YMAG suites are characterized by an excess of total alkaloids (Na2O +K2O), Cr, Nb, W, Ta, and lower concentrations of ferromagnesian minerals. These characteristic indicates that the OPACG suites are generated from deep-seated crustal levels rocks with the possibility of mantle materials. The YMAG suites were originated from partial melting of crustal sialic materials. Both the trace element patterns of the OPACG suites and the YMAG suites indicate that each suite is co-magmatic

Techniques of Data Deduplication for Cloud Storage: A Review

    No full text
With the rapid advancement of information technology and network, it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep up, as well as the rapid expansion of data center size, energy consumption as a percentage of IT investment is increasing. As the amount of digital data grows, so does the need for greater storage space, which drives up the cost and performance of backups. Traditional backup solutions don't have any built-in protection against duplicate data being saved up. Duplicate data backups severely lengthen backup times and consume needless resources. Data deduplication is critical for removing redundant data and lowering storage costs. Data deduplication is a new technique of compressing data that helps with storage efficiency while also proving to be a more efficient technique of dealing with duplicate data. Deduplication enables a single data copy to be uploaded to storage and subsequent copies to be provided with a pointer to the original stored copy. This paper consists of an extensive literature survey and summarizes numerous storage approaches, concepts, and categories that are used in data reduplication. Also in this paper, the researchers carried out the survey for chunk-based data deduplication techniques in detail
