No full textTussen april en mei 2019 heeft Artefact! Advies en Onderzoek in Erfgoed een Opgraving – variant Archeologische Begeleiding uitgevoerd bij het vervangen van de bestaande riolering door een nieuw gescheiden stelsel aan de Meidam en de Slotstraat te Kruiningen (gemeente Reimerswaal). Voor de aanleg van de nieuwe riolering is de bodem tussen ca. 1,50 en 1,75 meter beneden maaiveld (tussen ca. 1,90 en 2,15 meter –NAP) ontgraven. Ter hoogte van Meidam 5, 6 en de kruising met de Slotstraat zijn inspectieputten geplaatst waarbij de bodem lokaal dieper en breder is ontgraven.
Het doel van het onderzoek was het in kaart brengen van de eventueel aanwezige archeologische waarden in het plangebied en het ex-situ veilig stellen (Opgraven) van de resten die door de heraanleg van de riolering werden verstoord.
Op basis van eerder uitgevoerd onderzoek gold voor de onderzoekslocatie een hoge verwachting voor de late Middeleeuwen en Nieuwe tijd.
Deze verwachting kon worden bevestigd. Tijdens de archeologische begeleiding werd in de Meidam in het uiterste noordoosten en zuiden van het onderzoeksgebied, de westelijke begrenzing van de laatmiddeleeuwse gracht rondom het oude Kruiningen aangetroffen. Tevens in de Meidam werd in het zuiden van de onderzoekslocatie een waterleiding in een gedempte perceelsgreppel aangetroffen die gedateerd werden in de late Nieuwe tijd. Daarnaast werd in de Slotstraat, in het noorden van het onderzoeksgebied, een oude perceelsgreppel aangetroffen die definitief werd gedempt in de Nieuwe tijd C. In het noordwesten van de Slotstraat werden tevens sporen van moerneringskuilen aangetroffen

No full textDe aanleiding tot het onderzoek vormde het voornemen om binnen het plangebied, gelegen langs Meidam 5-13 te Kruiningen, de bestaande bebouwing te slopen om plaats te maken voor nieuwbouw. Daarnaast is ook de groenstrook rondom het voormalige kleine parkeerterrein gesaneerd. Voor de bouw van deze woningen is een bouwput uitgegraven. De diepte van deze bouwput helde af vanaf de zuidzijde van het terrein richting Meidam. Aan de zijde van Meidam (noordzijde bouwput) is de bouwput uitgegraven tot circa 0,71 m -mv (1,20 m -NAP); de zuidzijde van de bouwput tot circa 1,10 m -mv (0,80 m -NAP). Het plangebied omvat een deel van het perceel kadastraal bekend als Gemeente Kruiningen, Sectie G, perceel 2935 met een totale oppervlakte van 1.515 m2.
Binnen het plangebied gold op basis van het uitgevoerde onderzoek een hoge verwachting voor de middeleeuwen en de Nieuwe tijd. Deze verwachting is volledig bevestigd. Binnen het plangebied zijn resten aanwezig van landindeling in de late middeleeuwen. Aan de westzijde is de gracht rondom Kruiningen vastgesteld en aan de oostzijde een tweede gracht. Tussen deze grachten zijn verschillende greppels waargenomen die, net als de gracht aan de oostzijde van het plangebied, gedempt zijn in de 15de eeuw. Enkel aan de uiterste zuidzijde van het plangebied is de noordelijke begrenzing van de middeleeuwse woonwijk aangetroffen, die zich verder uitstrekt naar het zuiden toe. Rond de 15de – 16de eeuw is het plangebied bebouwd. Het betreft een losstaande woning met riool die afwaterde naar de gracht aan de westzijde van het plangebied. Deze woning heeft een bakstenen fundering, maar mogelijk bestaat de bovenbouw uit houtbouw of een combinatie van hout- en baksteenbouw. Deze woning verdwijnt rond voor het begin van de 19de eeuw.
In werkput 1 zijn de sporen die niet overlappen met werkput 2, meer specifiek de funderingsresten met spoornummers 1002 en 1003 in situ bewaard op een diepte van 0,66 m -mv (0,31 m -NAP). In werkput 2 zijn vrijwel alle sporen volledig afgewerkt. Enkel de grachten zijn in situ bewaard vanaf 0,71 en 1,10 m -mv (tussen 0,80 en 1,20 m -NAP), gelijk aan de onderzijde van de bouwput
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
No full textWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
