    Response of Sulphur and Zinc on Growth and Yield Components of Cluster Bean

    Field test carried out during Zaid 2023 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Prayagraj (U.P). The soil in the field was found to be sandy loam, neutral in soil reaction (pH 7.10), natural carbon (0.50%), accessible N (183.40 kg/ha), accessible P (37.56 kg/ha) and accessible K (200.06 kg/ha). The experiment was a randomized block design as the experiment consisting of nine treatments each repeated three times. The treatment combinations are 1: Sulphur 10 kg/ha + Zinc 3 kg/ha, 2: Sulphur 10 kg/ha + Zinc 6 kg/ha, 3: Sulphur 10 kg/ha + Zinc 9 kg/ha, 4: Sulphur 20 kg/ha + Zinc 3 kg/ha, 5: Sulphur 20 kg/ha + Zinc 6 kg/ha, 6: Sulphur 20 kg/ha + Zinc 9 kg/ha, 7: Sulphur 30 kg/ha + Zinc 3 kg/ha, 8: Sulphur 30 kg/ha + Zinc 6 kg/ha, 9: Sulphur 30 kg/ha + Zinc 9 kg/ha, 10: Control 20:40:25 (N:P:K) kg/ha are used. The important findings of the experiment have been summarized and concluded here under the objectives taken. The application of Sulphur 30 kg/ha + Zinc 6 kg/ha, observed maximum Plant height (104.00 cm), highest number of nodules per plant (16.93) Plant dry weight (26.56 g/plant). Maximum pods/plant (41.07), Seeds/pod (10.00), Test weight (4.45g), Seed yield (2.03 t/ha), stover yield (3.98 t/ha), Harvest index (33.76%) were noted with the treatment combination of Sulphur 30 kg/ha + Zinc 6 kg/ha

    A field experiment was conducted during Autumn Season 2021 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with nine treatments plant growth regulators and organic manures and replicated thrice. The treatments were T1: Gibberellic acid(GA) at40 mg L-1 + farm yard manure (FYM) at2.5 ton ha-1, T2: GA at40 mg L-1 + Vermicompost (VC) at1.6 ton ha-1, T3: GA at40 mg L-1 + Poultry manure(PM) at0.6 ton ha-1, T4: Indole acetic acid(IAA) at500 mg L-1 +   FYM at2.5 ton ha-1 , T5: IAA at500 mg L-1 + VC at1.6 ton ha-1, T6: IAA at500 mg L-1 + (PM) at0.6 ton ha-1, T7: Salicylic Acid(SA) at150 mg L-1 + FYM at2.5 ton ha-1, T8: SA at150 mg L-1 +  VC at1.6 ton ha-1, T9: SA at150 mg L-1 +  (PM) at 0.6 ton ha-1 were used. The results showed that application of T6 recorded significantly higher plant height, nodules/Plant, No. of Branches/plant, Plant dry weight, Pods/plant, Seeds/pod, Test weight, Seed yield, Haulm yield and Harvest index  as compared to other treatments

    The field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2022 on Field Pea crop at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj, (U.P.), India. The soil of the experimental plot was Sandy loam in texture, with a pH 7.2, that was neutral with EC- 0.26 (dS/m), organic carbon (0.72%), available N (178.48kg/ha), available P (27.80kg/ha) and available K (233.24kg/ha). The treatments consisted of 3 varieties (Rachana, Aparna and Pant C-5) and Biofertilizers (Rhizobium sp. and PSB) and a control. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 10 treatments and replicated thrice. Application of Rachana + PSB + Rhizobium sp. produced higher plant height (98.89 cm), No. of pods/plant (24.04), No. of seeds/pod (5.39), seed yield (1.73 kg/ha) and stover yield (3.80 kg/ha)

    A field experiment on chickpea was conducted during Rabi, 2021 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P). INDIA. The soil of the experimental plot was sandy loam in texture, nearly neutral in soil reaction (pH 6.9), organic carbon (0.71%), available N (273.54 kg/ha), available P (31.14 kg/ha), and available K (327 kg/ha). The treatments comprised of spacing (25cm x 10cm, 35cm x 10cm, 45cm x 10cm), and foliar application of Gibberellic acid (15, 30, & 45ppm/ha). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with nine treatments each replicated three times. The results showed that viz: Plant height (68.91 cm), number of branches per plant (28.19), plant dry weight (27.48 g/plant) were recorded significantly higher with 35 x10 cm + GA3 45ppm/ha. Whereas, crop growth rate (17.68 g/m2/day), relative growth rate (0.023 g/g/day) recorded higher in 25 x 10cm + GA3 30ppm/ha. Number of pods per plant (60.04), number of seeds per pod (1.93), seed yield (246.67 kg/ha), haulm yield (5064.53 kg/ha) were recorded significantly higher. Higher gross returns (1,08,022.50 ₹/ha), net returns (75,676.47 ₹/ha), and benefit-cost ratio (3.33) were obtained with the application of 35 x10 cm + GA3 45ppm/ha. Thus, spacing with foliar application of Gibberellic acid (15,30 and 45ppm) could be a promising option for yield enhancement in chickpea.         &nbsp

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Back Ground: Baby corn maize (Zea mays L.) is a highly profitable alternative to farmers due to its short crop duration, being harvested at the juvenile stage. It demands large amounts of nutrients in a short time. Iron micronutrients gives higher yield as they play major role in assimilation rate and metabolic activities in plant. Biofertilizers are required to restore the fertility of the soil. Prolonged use of chemical fertilizers degrades the soil and affects baby corn yield. Objectives: Effect of iron and bio-fertilizers on growth and yield of baby corn. Methods: With the goal of studying the effect of iron and bio-fertilizers on growth and yield of Baby corn (Zea mays L.)  Var. ABV - 04 under a Randomized block design with 8 treatments (T1-T8).The experimental results revealed that 0.5% FeSO4 (3g/lit of water) + Azotobacter seed inoculation (200 g/10kg of seed)  produced maximum plant height (185.27), number of leaves/plant(12.58),plant dry weight (89.28) and yield parameters cobs/plant (2.34), cob weight without husk (12.34g), cob yield with husk(10.81 t/ha), and cob yield without husk(3.91t/ha). Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, it is concluded that 0.5 percent FeSO4 (5g/lit of water) + Azotobacter seed inoculation (200 g/10kg of seed) can ensure the profitable production of baby corn. These practises could be passed on to farmers to help them earn more money in this agro-climatic zone.     Effect of Boron and Panchagavya on Growth and Yield of Baby Corn (Zea mays L.)

    The experiment was conducted in the Crop Research Farm, department of agronomy during the summer season of 2022 on baby corn crop. The treatments consisted of 3 levels of boron (2kg, 3kg, 4 kg/ha) and Panchagavya (2 sprays of 2%, 3%, 4%) as a foliar spray at 15 and 30 DAS and a control. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 10 treatments and replicated thrice. Application of Boron (4 kg/ha) and Panchagavya (2 sprays of 4%) produced maximum plant height (135.44 cm), plant dry weight (138.95 g), number of cobs per plant (3.06), weight of cobs with husk (44.85g), weight of cobs without cob (8.24g), cob yield with husk (7.48 t/ha), cob yield without husk (3.01 t/ha), green fodder yield (41.80 t/ha). Treatment combination with Boron 4 kg/ha and Panchagavya 2 sprays of 4% produced highest gross returns (Rs. 1,44,700/ha), net returns (Rs. 99,845/ha) and benefit cost ratio (2.23) when compared to control (RDF)

    The field experiment was conducted at Crop Research Farm (CRF), Department of Agronomy, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj (U.P.) during Zaid season of 2022 on Cowpea crop. The treatments Consists of 3 levels of Zinc [20kg/ha, 0.6% and (10kg/ha + 0.3%)] and 3 different varieties (GOMTI, HIMANI-06, KASHI-KANCHAN) and a Control. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with 10 treatments replicated thrice. The application of Zinc (10kg/ha + 0.3%) + GOMTI variety recorded higher plant height (83.96 cm), more number of nodules per plant (9.20), maximum plant dry weight (12.55 g/plant), Crop growth rate (7.94 g/m2/day), Relative growth rate (0.037 g/g/day) and yield attributes namely Number of Pods per plant (14.44), Number of seeds per pod(18.55), Test weight(91.00 g), Seed yield (1.03 t/ha), Stover yield (5.33 t/ha) and Harvest index (16.12%) was found maximum in treatment 3 that is Zinc (10kg/ha + 0.3%) + GOMTI variety as compared to other treatment combinations. The maximum gross return (INR 112750.00/ha), net return (INR 74582.50/ha) and B:C ratio (1.95) is recorded in treatment 3 Zinc (10kg/ha + 0.3%) + GOMTI variety as well
