System level performance and yield optimisation for analogue integrated circuits
Advances in silicon technology over the last decade have led to increased integration of analogue and digital functional blocks onto the same single chip. In such a mixed signal environment, the analogue circuits must use the same process technology as their digital neighbours. With reducing transistor sizes, the impact of process variations on analogue design has become prominent and can lead to circuit performance falling below specification and hence reducing the yield. This thesis explores the methodology and algorithms for an analogue integrated circuit automation tool that optimizes performance and yield. The trade-offs between performance and yield are analysed using a combination of an evolutionary algorithm and Monte Carlo simulation. Through the integration of yield parameter into the optimisation process, the trade off between the performance functions can be better treated that able to produce a higher yield. The results obtained from the performance and variation exploration are modelled behaviourally using a Verilog-A language. The model has been verified with transistor level simulation and a silicon prototype. For a large analogue system, the circuit is commonly broken down into its constituent sub-blocks, a process known as hierarchical design. The use of hierarchical-based design and optimisation simplifies the design task and accelerates the design flow by encouraging design reuse.A new approach for system level yield optimisation using a hierarchical-based design is proposed and developed. The approach combines Multi-Objective Bottom Up (MUBU) modelling technique to model the circuit performance and variation and Top Down Constraint Design (TDCD) technique for the complete system level design. The proposed method has been used to design a 7th order low pass filter and a charge pump phase locked loop system. The results have been verified with transistor level simulations and suggest that an accurate system level performance and yield prediction can be achieved with the proposed methodology
Pipelines corrosion / Ahmad Shukri Md Ali and Mohd Faizal Ghazali
From our research, corrosion is important to our environment today. Most of facilities that we use are made from steel. Corrosion is a deleterious process and causes a great deal of destruction and inconvenience in our communities. For that reason we try to get more information by doing this research. From our research, we give some objective that we have to the reader:
i. Corrosion are made from environment like:
a. Water
b. Soil
c. Atmosphere
d. Dry gases
e. Human body
ii. Corrosion can protect in many ways like electrochemical.
iii. Corrosion can control is thus the prevention of this deterioration by three general ways:
a. Change the material
b. Change the environment
c. Place a barrier between the material and its environment
iv. Corrosion can decrease water quality
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Live edge emerald green resin art side table / Nurul Basirah Md Ali
Nowadays, the used of epoxy resin in furniture industry is not a new trend. However, there are still not many companies have involved in the used of epoxy resin as one of their raw materials. Epoxy resin is a chemical substance that need to be mixed with hardener to harden. This substance is suitable to use with wood since it can increase it appearance. Besides that, there are many other less known species in Malaysia such Juniper sp, that was used as the main material in this project. The objective of this research are to produce a product by using Juniper wood with the combination of epoxy resin. A set of question were distributed to 100 respondents regarding a few issues, which are the knowledge of raw material, design function, marketing, and the satisfaction on the Live Edge Emerald Green Epoxy Resin Art Side Table. Based on the result, most of all respondents were satisfied with the material, design, and marketing of the product. Thus, it can be concluded that all of them agreed that this product has a potential to be commercial in the market

Simulation of three phase induction motor in computer aided education / Ahmad Tajuddin Md. Ali
This project is design for anyone especially for Electrical Engineering students to assist them in the process of learning the induction motor especially in the simulation of three phase induction motor. This project presents the Computer Aided Education (CAE) software. It was developed using Visual Basic (VB) programming language. Both text and graphics are included to provide simulation of induction motor program, interactive teaching notes, interactive diagrams and animated graphics, to make the learning process become understandable, interesting, assisting and improve the teaching and learning process
The design, development and evaluation of RESAM Carving Kit / Noren Md Ali
Very often, art teachers find it difficult to obtain relevant carving tools for their students. These tools are usually costly and difficult to obtain. Therefore, to help art teachers overcome the problem of getting the relevant carving tools, this RESAM Carving Kit was designed to provide an alternative tool for teaching carving as part of Visual Art Education syllabus. These carving tools are made from the twigs of Resam tree (Dicranopteris linearis). They are hard and durable which makes it easy to carry, cost effective and can be sharpened when blunt. This tree can also be found easily by the roadsides of the highway. The emphasis of the carving syllabus at the secondary school is more on the techniques and processes. Therefore, this RESAM Carving Kit can provide a good alternative for students to learn the carving techniques. Students and teachers can also make the carving tools themselves. These 10 pieces of RESAM Carving Kit are labelled individually with numbers for easy identification. These numbers signify the various shapes of each carving tool and the carving effect that it can produce. The carving points of each RESAM Carving Kit are shaped very similar to the metal carving tools used for wood carving. Although this was inspired by the manuscript pen, the researcher finds that it is a good invention and innovation in education as it provides good quality tool for carving. It is very easy to obtain and very practical. A study was done among art teachers and students in one of the schools in Shah Alam and the results showed that the students and teachers found the RESAM Carving Kit to be very helpful in the process of teaching and learning of carving
