Industrial training benefitting the students to experience real life working environment because it provides preparation for future professional jobs. Students is able to learn significant skills with an invaluable perspective on the functioning of their chosen industry. Students will develop critical skills, such as problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and technical expertise. The real- life scenarios will challenge the student to adapt and apply their theoretical knowledge, thus reinforcing their learning that also contribute significantly to personal and professional growth. To put it simply, industrial training is a crucial component in preparing students for their future employment. It boosts their technical and soft skills while also giving them the experience they need to comprehend and deal with the challenges of the working world. Students who are taking part in an industrial training have the opportunity to enter the workforce with competence and confidence, my memorable and enlightening 6 months industrial training began at Muar District Land Office. This practical training offers me unique opportunity to witness and immerse myself in the real-world working environment. During my practical training, I gained some hands-on experience in various aspects of office administration and matters related to land administration. By participating in such training, it teaches me to be more well-equipped to enter the workforce with confidence and competence. CZTS layers for solar cells by an electrodeposition-annealing route
In the present work, Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin films were successfully prepared using a co-electrodeposition–annealing route, in which Cu-Zn-Sn metal precursors were deposited by a novel electrolyte formula on Mo substrate, followed by annealing in elemental sulfur environment in quartz tube furnace with N2 atmosphere. Morphological, compositional and structural features of the films were investigated using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction before and after sulfurization. Raman spectroscopy was performed after sulfurization to fully characterize the deposited films. Glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy (GDOES) has also been carried out to see
how composition changes along the film thickness. Results confirmed that kesterite structure of CZTS has been well formed after sulfurization of the film. It was also observed that CZTS properties depend on annealing times and ramping rate during sulfurization
User acceptance of Academic Information System Management (AIMS) using UTAUT model / Nik Noor Nadiah Md Ibrahim
Acceptance of Academic Information Management System (AIMS) is raised as a concern in many organizations, especially in educational institutions. AIMS in UiTM which is currently functional for two modules, Curriculum Management System and Examination Management System are used by the academic staffs who are designated as resource persons. The organization has encountered problems and challenges in ensuring user acceptance with the usage of the system. Besides, there is no one study conducted to evaluate the user acceptance of AIMS in UiTM. In regards the issue, a study is conducted to study the user acceptance of AIMS by using Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) Model. User acceptance of AIMS is discussed in depth as to measure how the system is considered significant and effective for use of academic staffs in UiTM by studying the relationship between Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence and Facilitating Condition and Actual Usage of AIMS system. The study proposed a modified UTAUT model where Behavioural Intention is excluded from the framework. Significance of relationship between independent variables and user acceptance of AIMS are determined by the data analysis done in SPSS tool. Findings of the study show that Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy and Facilitating Condition have positive effects on Actual Usage of AIMS where correlation results are true at 0.852, 0.757 and 0.315 where significance level, p < 0.1. However, Social Influence shows no positive effects on Actual Usage of AIMS where correlation reading shows -0.130 at significance level,p < 0.1. Meanwhile, moderating factors, age, gender and work experience are included to study the influence of Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence and Facilitating Condition on Actual Usage of AIMS. Moderating factors, gender and age are found not to moderate the influence of Performance Expectancy on Actual Usage of AIMS. These moderating factors and work experience are not significant to moderate the influence the Social Influence on Actual Usage of AIMS. In contrast, the influence of Effort Expectancy on Actual Usage of AIMS is moderated by gender, age and work experience. On the same finding, the influence of Facilitating Condition on the Actual Usage of AIMS is moderated by age and work experience. Based on the findings in relationship studies on Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence and Facilitating Condition on Actual Usage of AIMS, a multiple regression analysis is conducted to study the acceptance of AIMS. With R square of 0.729, the system is concluded to be accepted and used by the organization
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Graphene oxide gold nanostructure based surface enhanced raman scattering DNA biosensor for the detection of meat species / Md. Ibrahim Khalil
Authentication, detection and quantification of the ingredients, and adulterant in the food, meat and meat products are of high importance in current days. However, the conventional meat species detection techniques based on lipid, protein and DNA biomarkers have been confronting challenges due to the poor selectivity, sensitivity, and unsuitability for processed food products or complex food matrices. Hence, nanoparticle based DNA biosensing strategies have attracted the most interests and considered as one of the best alternatives to conventional strategies. Among these, surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has gained the substantial acceptance as an excellent, fast and ultrasensitive sensing technique due to its ability to produce molecule specific distinct spectra, narrow spectral bandwidth and multiplexing ability. However, the performance of the SERS DNA biosensor relies on the DNA probe length, platform composition, presence and position of Raman tags and the chosen sensing strategy. Herein, it was demonstrated for the first time SERS DNA sensing for the detection meat species using short-length DNA probe and two different strategies of Raman tag attachment either co adsorbed with or intercalated in the DNA probe sequences. Moreover, SERS-active dual platforms comprising of graphene oxide-gold nanoparticles (GO-AuNPs), graphene oxide-gold nanorod (GO-AuNR), and AuNPs were used in different combinations. At the first sensing strategy, GO-AuNP functionalized with capture probe 1 (CP1) and AuNPs with co-adsorbed CP2 and Cy3 were used to fabricate the SERS biosensor for the quantitative detection of the Malayan Box Turtle (MBT). Hybridization mediated coupling of the two platforms generated the huge amplified SERS signal which in consequence facilitated to achieve a greater sensitivity with a limit of detection (LOD) of 10 fM (synthetic target DNA) and 100 fM (real sample). In the second strategy, a uniquely
designed Raman tag (ATTO Rho6G) integrated signal probe (SP) sequence immobilized AuNPs and the CP DNA functionalized GO-AuNR were utilized to detect the pig species. This biosensing approach showed an outstanding sensitivity with an LOD of 100 aM as well as validated with DNA extracted from pork sample (LOD
– 1fM). Finally, a duplex SERS DNA biosensor was fabricated following the same strategy using Cy3 and ATTO Rho6G intercalated SP sequences specific to MBT and pig species respectively as well as GO-AuNPs and AuNPs as sensor platforms for the simultaneous detection of both species. In the presence of the target DNA sequences, covalent linking of the CP functionalized GO-AuNPs and SP functionalized AuNPs triggered the huge SERS signal enhancement due to the multi-component agglomeration. The duplex DNA biosensor exhibited an excellent sensitivity with an LOD of 10 fM for the synthesized target DNA and 100 fM for real sample. Moreover, the fabricated SERS biosensors showed an outstanding selectivity and specificity to differentiate the DNA sequences of the closely related non-target species and the target DNA sequences with single and three nucleotide base-mismatches. The developed short-length DNA conjugated dual platforms based SERS biosensors proved as a selective, sensitive and convenient technology for the detection of single and dual species, hence could be universally applicable for the versatile applications and opted for the simultaneous multiplex detection
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
