    Calcidius on the Conformity of the Platonist Doctrine and Jewish Philosophy (in Tim. 256: 3-11)

    The article analyzes a phrase from Chalcidius' Commentary on Plato’s Timaeus (cap. 256, vv. 3–11 [Waszink 1962]) concerning the correspondence between Platonic doctrine and Jewish philosophy (Platonico dogmati Hebraica philosophia). The discussion is framed in relation to Chalcidius’ (5th century [?]) views on the place of humans in the cosmos and the nature of the soul, which undergoes various external influences. The phrase specifically addresses dreams, classifying them into those that foretell the future and those that do not contain predictions. The study examines Chalcidius’ understanding of the Platonic doctrine of dreams, exploring their origins according to Plato, including past emotional experiences and divine providence. It also compares Plato’s concept of dreams and divine instructions with those found in Chalcidius’ work, with the exception of reve-latio (revelation). The article highlights Philo of Alexandria as a representative of Jewish philosophy in the context of dream in-terpretation. It discusses the correspondences between Philo’s and Chalcidius’ ideas, specifically the alignment of Chalcidius’ terms visum (“visions”) and spectaculum (“spectacles”) with Philo’s notion of divine images sent to humans. Furthermore, it draws a conditional comparison between Chalcidius’ admonitio (“instruction”) and Philo’s second type of dreams, which occur when the human mind/soul moves in harmony with the Mind of the universe. Teorētiskā daļa sastāv no teorētiskās analīzes matemātisko prasmju sekmēšanas pedagoģiskajā procesā, 2-3 gadīgu bērnu raksturojums un rotaļās dabā – matemātisko prasmju sekmēšanai. Empīriskajā daļās ir aprakstītas pētījuma gaitas un praktiskas nodarbības par matemātisko prasmju sekmēšanu rotaļās dabā un pētījuma rezultāti.     이 논문은 2017년 2월 14일 서울대학교 규장각한국학연구원에서 열린 인문한국사업단 제 31회 HK워크숍 "동아시아 문헌학과 문헌학자 II"의 발표문을 수정∙보완한 것임Russia was one of the first countries to research the Korean peninsula and collect related materials. Russian libraries and institutions have not only published materials related to Korea, but have also collected a large number of old Korean books. The Institute of Oriental Manuscripts in St. Petersburg holds the largest collection of old Korean books in Russia. This collection was catalogued and arranged in the 1950s and 1960s by Russian Japanologist and Koreanist Olga Petrova (1900-1993) and published in two books in 1956 and 1963. Olga Petrova was a scholar and educator who worked both at Leningrad State University as a professor of Japan Studies, and in the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts as a researcher. She compiled several textbooks of the Japanese language for undergraduates, created a Russian-Japanese and Japanese‐Russian dictionary of naval terms, and conducted research on Japanese lexicology, the Russia-Japan relationship, and the Korean language. With other colleagues she also catalogued old Japanese books held in the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts. In 1950, Olga Petrova became a specialist in the newly established Mongolian- Korean Studies division of the Institute and began to study old Korean books held there. She catalogued great numbers of books from the collections of P.A. Dmitrevsky (1851-1899), a Russian diplomat who worked in China and Korea over two decades, and W.G. Aston (1841-1911), a British diplomat who spent a twenty‐five years in Japan and Korea; in addition, some of books came from the Asiatic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as other individuals and organizations. In order to provide information about the books, Petrova referred to several catalogues in Japanese and various European languages, as well as materials in Korean. Petrova based the Descriptions introduction on previously published materials, explaining book culture in Korea, features of manuscripts, xylographs, and movable type‐printed books, the characteristics of Korean names and names of places and eras(reigns), and the Russian transliteration of Korean. Petrova included in the Description some Japanese and Chinese books related to Korea. She grouped the books into 15 sections: General History of Korea, History of Japanese Invasion (1592-98), History of 19th Century Korea, History of Korean Foreign Relations, Korean Books on Chinese History, History of Confucianism in Korea, Geography, Ethnography, Law, Ideology, Language, Literature, Reference Books, Medicine, and Archive; in addition, the Ideology, Language, and Literature sections comprise several subsections. Petrova catalogued 236 items; she mentioned, however, some collections of literary works, munjip, in several sections depending on the subjects of their sections, so the total number of the catalogued works adds up to less than 236. For each item, the author follows the descriptive scheme and provide information about the author or complier, the language in which the work is written, its contents, its external features, references, and translations into other languages, if any. The Description is the first work in Russian concerned with old Korean books, and it provided detailed information about the collection of old Korean books at the Institute. Petrovas Description is not only a catalogue of the collection, but also a significant contribution to Russian and Overseas Korean studies

    Expression of Adolescent Violence Towards Parents and It Association with Sense of Parents' Competence and Parenting Styles

    Bakalaura darba pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas sakarības starp vecāku uztvertās pusaudža vardarbības izpausmēm pret vecākiem saistību ar vecāku kompetences izjūtu un vecāku audzināšanas pieejām, kā arī, vai pastāv atšķirības saistībās starp māšu un tēvu vērtējumiem par vecāku uztvertās pusaudžu vardabības izpausmēm pret vecākiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 150 pusaudžu vecāki, 100 mātes un 50 tēvi, kuru bērni ir vecumā no 12 – 15 gadiem. Pētījumā izmantotās metodes: Alabamas audzināšanas aptauja (The Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ), Frick, Shelton, & Wooton, 1996), kuras adaptāciju latviešu valodā 2006. gadā veikusi L. Kalniņa sava maģistra darba ietvaros (Kalniņa, 2006); Vecāku kompetences izjūtas skala (Parenting Sense of Competence Scale, (PSOC), Johnston & Mash, 1989), kuru latviešu valodā adaptējušas Inga Skreitule-Pikše un Sandra Sebre 2008. gadā (Skreitule-Pikše&Sebre, 2008), Aptauja “Bērnu vardarbība pret vecākiem”, versija vecākiem (Child-to-Parent Violence Questionnaire (CPV-Q-P) Parents’ Version, Contreras, León, & Cano-Lozano, 2020), bakalaura darba ietvaros aptaujas tulkojumu latviešu valodā veikusi šī darba autore Iveta Petrova (Petrova, 2022). Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti uzrādīja, ka pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas negatīvas sakarības starp vecāku kompetences izjūtu un vecāku uztvertās pusaudža vardarbības vairākām izpausmēm uzvedībā gan pret tēviem, gan pret mātēm. Statistiski nozīmīgas sakarības pastāv starp vecāku audzināšanas pieejām pretrunīga disciplinēšana un fiziska sodīšana gan tēviem, gan mātēm ar uztvertās pusaudža vardarbības vairākām izpausmēm uzvedībā. Mātēm pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas negatīvas sakarības starp pozitīvas audzināšanas un iesaistīšanās ar uztverto no pusaudža vērsto instrumentālu agresiju. Tēviem pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas sakarības starp sliktu uzraudzību un uztverto no pusaudža fizisko vardarbību. Mainīgo lielumu saistībās atklājas statistiski nozīmīgas saistību atšķirības starp māšu un tēvu vērtējumiem par vecāku uztvertās pusaudžu vardabības izpausmēm pret vecākiem, mātēm ir ciešāka saistība starp savu vērtējumu par pusaudža vērsto reaktīvo agresiju un izjusto neapmierinātību pildot mātes pienākumus, nekā tēviem.The objective of the study was to find out whether there are statistically significant relationships between the manifestations of adolescent violence perceived by parents, the relationship with the sense of parental competence and parenting approaches, as well as whether there are differences in the relationship between mothers' and fathers' assessments of the manifestations of adolescent violence perceived by parents. The study involved 150 adolescents’ parents, 100 mothers and 50 fathers, of adolescents aged 12 to 15 years old. The methods used in the research: The Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ), (Frick, Shelton, & Wooton, 1996), adapted in Latvian by L. Kalniņa in 2006 as part of her master's thesis (Kalniņa, 2006); Parental competences the Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSOC), (Johnston & Mash, 1989), adapted in Latvian by Inga Skreitule-Pikše and Sandra Sebre in 2008 (Skreitule-Pikše & Sebre, 2008), Child-to-Parent Violence Questionnaire (CPV-Q-P) Parents' Version (Contreras, León, & Cano-Lozano, 2020), the translation of the questionnaire into Latvian was made by the author of this work, Iveta Petrova (Petrova, 2022), as part of her bachelor thesis. The results obtained in the study show that there are statistically significant negative relationships between parents' sense of competence and several manifestations of adolescent violence perceived by parents in behavior towards both fathers and mothers. The presence of a statistically significant relationship between the parenting approaches of adversarial disciplining and physical punishment for both fathers and mothers with multiple behavioral manifestations of perceived adolescent violence were observed. The assessment of the mothers shows statistically significant negative associations between positive parenting and involvement with perceived adolescent-directed instrumental aggression. For the fathers, the statistically significant associations between poor supervision and perceived adolescent physical abuse were observed. The statistically significant relationship differences between mothers' and fathers' assessments of the manifestations of adolescent violence towards parents, perceived by parents, are revealed in relation to the variables; mothers have a closer relationship between their assessment of the adolescent's reactive aggression and the felt dissatisfaction in fulfilling their mother's duties than fathers

    This paper analyzes a fragment from Donatus’ Ars grammatica (Ars minor: De verbo, 4th century) of the text, attributed to Dmitry Gerasimov (16th century) and unknown scribes from the 17th century. Gerasimov’s methods and the work of his successors on with Donatus’ text are discussed. Meaningful semantic and verbal parallels between the Latin original and the presentation under consideration are revealed. It is shown what exactly and how Dmitry managed to convey from Donatus’ text on the verb. Revealed, showing exactly what Gerasimov succeeded in conveying of Donatus' text on the verb and how he did this. Gerasimov adopted Donatus' question-answer form of presentation, attempted to reproduce the content of the original and selected appropriate terminological equivalents and examples from his own native language. It is concluded that neither Gerasimov nor his followers were able to convey Donatus’ text due to linguistic (including terminological) differences. Instead, they followed the Western European tradition of adapting the Latin text and its tools to their language and the educational needs of their epoc

The theoretical part of the work analyzes the child's language and speech during the middle age of the preschool, adult participation in children's speech and language development, analyzes the development of children's speech and language in a preschool institution, describes children's vocabulary and its expansion and enrichment within forms of play. There is also an overview of the different opinions of professionals about vocabulary development, as well as describing the children's vocabulary expansion in games. The work is based on the works of D.Dzintere, I. Stangaine, Z. Anspoka, I. Freiberga and D. Augstkalne. In the practical part of the work, the children's initial vocabulary was studied according, to previously developed criteria and analyzed, a pilot activity was performed - selection and execution of vocabulary-promoting games, repeated observation of children's speech, comparison and analysis of results.
