    Penciptaan sosok Adam di jannat al-khuld di langit dan kondisi di dalamnya berbeda dengan kondisi di bumi, hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa eksistensi Adam mula-mula di jannat al-khuld. Kondisi yang berbeda tersebut karena di dalam surga Adam tanpa panas matahari serta pakaian Adam dan Hawa berupa nur/cahaya, disamping terdapat hadis-hadis di dalam sah�h Muslim tentang eksistensi Adam sebelum diturunkan ke bumi. Menurut Muhammad Abduh (1266-1323 H/1849-1905 M) kisah eksistensi Adam pra kehidupan dunia di surga adalah kisah simbolik, harus ditakwilkan karena ayat-ayat tentang kisah tersebut adalah ayat-ayat mutasy?bih?t. Jannah menurutnya adalah �kenikmatan hidup�. Meskipun ia mentakwili kisah-kisah Adam, ternyata ia menyatakan bahwa Adam ketika diciptakan berada di bumi. Ulama yang identik dengan pemikiran Muhammad Abduh adalah al-Sya�r?wi dan al-Mat?rid?. Sedangkan penulis Barat yang identik dengan pendapat tersebut adalah James M. Gray dan James F. Driscoll dengan judul artikel yang sama Garden of Eden, yang pertama menyatakan lokasi surga Adam berada di kawasan sungai Euphrates dan sungai Tigris dan yang kedua menyatakan berada di atas bukit. Interpretasi al-Qurtub? (w. 671 H.) berbeda dengan pendapat Muhammad Abduh karena menurutnya eksistensi Adam mula-mula berada di Jannat al-Khuld dengan argumen Jannah yang dimaksudkan di dalam al-Qur�an selalu diawali dengan lam ta�rif ( ?? ). Ulama yang identik dengan pendapat al-Qurtub? adalah Ulama Jumh?r, Muhammad �Al? al-S?b?n?, Ibn Kats?r, dan Ibn Jar?r al-Tabar?. Sedangkan penulis Barat yang identik dengan pendapat al-Qurtub? tersebut adalah Robert J. Mattews dengan artikel berjudul Fall of Adam, Rachel Woods dengan artikel berjudul The Creation, the Fall, and Birth dan Kaddiysh dengan artikel berjudul What Happened to the Garden of Eden after Adam and Eve were Banished serta A. Husain dalam bukunya, Qur�anic Stories Series-The First Man. Disertasi ini mengkonfirmasi pandangan Ibn Kats�r bahwa eksistensi Adam sebelum turun ke bumi adalah di jannat al-khuld di langit dengan beberapa sumber utama yang mengindikasikannya: 1. Kitab Ibn Kats?r, al-Bid?yah wa al Nih?yah, (Beirut: D?r al Ma�rifah, tt.), juz 1, h. 169 terdapat hadis dalam sahih muslim, juz 2, h. 456 bahwa telah terjadi dialog antara orang-orang beriman dengan Adam as. yang mana mereka memohon bantuan nabi Adam untuk dibukakan surga, dan akhir ucapan nabi Adam, �tidaklah ada yang mengeluarkan kamu dari surga, melainkan kesalahan bapakmu Adam�. Dalam hadis ini Adam as. sendiri yang menyatakan surganya adalah jannat al khuld. 2. Kitab Ibn Kats?r, al-Bid?yah wa al Nih?yah, dalam juz dan halaman yang sama, yang termaktub pula dalam sahih muslim, juz 2, h. 456 tentang celaan Musa as. yang ditujukan kepada nabi Adam disebabkan dosa-dosanya berakibat dikeluarkan dari surga, namun nabi Adam berargumen bahwa hal itu sudah ada dalam ketentuan Allah sebelum di ciptakan. Hadis ini menjelaskan tentang kekecewaan Musa as. kepada nabi Adam karena kesalahannya, sehingga manusia harus hidup didunia. 3. Kitab Ibn Kats?r, Tafs?r al-Qur�?n al- Az?m, juz 3,(Mesir: D?r Misr li al Tib?�ah, tt.), h. 172 yang menyatakan tiadanya sinar matahari didalam surga Adam bermakna tiadanya panas lahiriah pada manusia, hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa surga Adam bukan dimuka bumi karena setiap hari matahari selalu menyinari bumi. 4. Kitab Ibn Kats?r, Tafs?r al-Qur�?n al- Az?m, juz 2,(Mesir: D?r Misr li al-Tib?�ah , tt.), h. 211 yang mengutib kitab hadis Ibn Jarir al Tabar? dengan sanad yang sahih bahwa pakaian Adam dan Hawa adalah nur (cahaya) yang menutupi aurat keduanya, masing-masing tidak bisa melihat aurat yang lain. Tatkala keduanya makan buah dari pohon yang dilarang, terlepaslah pakaian mereka berupa nur yang menutupinya. Peristiwa semacam ini mustahil terjadi dalam surga di muka bumi

    Stress generally refers to a mental and spiritual state that is unable to accept a situation to cause emotional stress. This condition will be even worse if the individual does not seek treatment or therapy to prevent this emotional instability from lasting. As such, this study aims to analyze methods in dealing with stress based on Islamic perspectives in particular according to the views of al-Ghazali and al-Dihlawi. This qualitative study used data collection methods in the form of content analysis. The data was analyzed based on inductive, deductive, and comparative methods to obtain the results of the study. The study found that the devotion in prayer highlighted by al-Ghazali and al-Dihlawi can facilitate stress management. This is because of the steadfastness of one's heart towards the Creator and the peace of one's soul when feeling devout in prayer. Consequently, people who are devout in prayer are indeed able to face challenges while reducing stress in lif

    Validation of the Malay version of Diabetes Quality of Life (DQOL) Questionnaire for Adult Population with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

    Objective: We aimed to validate the Malay version of Diabetes Quality of Life (DQOL) questionnaire for Malaysian adult population with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Methods: This is a cross-sectional study to validate Malay version of DQOL among the adult diabetic patients. DQOL questionnaire has 46 items consist of three domains, namely Satisfaction Domain, Impact Domain and Worry Domain. Both forward and backward translations from the English version of DQOL into Malay version were performed. After the face validity of the Malay version was established, it was then pilot-tested. Finally, the validity and reliability of the final Malay version of DQOL questionnaire were evaluated. Results: There were 290 patients participated in this study with a mean (SD) age of 53.1 (10.0) years. The Cronbach\u27s alpha coefficients of the overall items and the main domains were between 0.846 and 0.941. The Pearson\u27s correlation coefficients for the three domains were between 0.228 and 0.451. HbA1C was found to be positively correlated with Impact Domain (P = 0.006). The Worry Domain was associated with diabetic retinopathy (P = 0.014) and nephropathy (P = 0.033). Conclusion: The Malay version of diabetes quality of life (DQOL) questionnaire was found to be a valid and reliable survey instrument to be used for Malaysian adult patients with diabetes mellitus

    Adam Brux (1576c.-dopo il 1632), medico, filosofo e alchimista tedesco, fu il cosiddetto “inventore della dimenticanza” per il suo testo Simonides redivivus… (1610), che, oltre a un’Arte della memoria, ne contiene una dell’oblio. Autore quasi del tutto sconosciuto, l’analisi dei suoi testi si presta a evidenziare la connessione tra le correnti misticheggianti della teologia luterana (come quella dei Rosacroce) e il tema della memoria. Se il credente riformato doveva relazionarsi con Dio attraverso la “sola scrittura” senza mediazione della Chiesa, l’apprendimento e la rimemorazione diventavano strumenti fondamentali per la comprensione della Bibbia, che è il primo libro di Arte della memoria. Ma proprio la memoria, facoltà nata nell’individuo dopo la Caduta dal Paradiso terrestre, deve trovare, per Brux, uno strumento di controllo in grado di cancellare o espellere ciò che non è necessario. Lo strumento per cancellare gli atti compiuti nel passato è, per i cattolici, il sacramento della Confessione; ma per i protestanti? Avvicinandosi al misticismo rosacrociano, e intriso di medicina paracelsiana, Brux mette a punto purganti alchemici e arti dell’oblio come strumenti per ottenere questo obiettivo: combattere stitichezza e malinconia per espellere l’eccesso di accumuli e favorire nuove vite. Perché “solo il seme che è gettato per terra e muore genera nuova vita”, come scriveva San Paolo ai Corinzi. ENGLISH ABSTRACT Adam Brux (1576c - after 1632), German physician, philosopher and alchemist, was the so-called "inventor of obliviousness" for his text Simonides redivivus... (1610), which, in addition to the Art of memory, contains the Art of the obliviousness. Author almost entirely unknown, though the analysis of his texts it is possible to highlight the connection between the mystifying streams of Lutheran theology (like that of the Rosicrucians) and the theme of memory. If the reformed believer had to relate to God only through the "holy writings" without Church mediation, learning and memory became fundamental tools for understanding the Bible, which is the first book of the Art of memory. But it is the memory, a faculty born in the individual after the Fall from Paradise, that, according to Brux, must find a control instrument in order to cancel or expel what is not necessary. The instrument to cancel the acts done in the past is, for Catholics, the sacrament of Confession; but for Protestants? By approaching Rosicrucian mysticism and with full knowledge of the Paracelsus medicine, Brux develops alchemical cleansers and arts of oblivion as tools to achieve this goal: fighting constipation and melancholy to expel excesses of accumulations and encourage new lives. Because “only the seed that is thrown on the ground and dies generates new life”, as St. Paul wrote to the Corinthians. DEUTSCHE ABSTRAKT Adam Brux (1576c - Nach 1632), Deutsch Arzt, Philosoph und Alchemist, war die “Erfinder des Vergessens“ für seinen Text Simonides redivivus ... (1610) der sowie eine Kunst des Erinnerns auch eine Kunst der Vergessenheit enthält. Ein fast unbekannter Autor, die Analyse seiner Texte markiert die Verbindung zwischen den mystischen Strömungen der lutherischen Theologie (wie die der Rosicrucians) mit dem Thema der Erinnerung. Wenn die reformierten Gläubigen musste Gott nur durch die “heilige Schreiben“, ohne die Vermittlung der Kirche beziehen, Lernen und Erinnerung wurden wesentliche Instrumente für die Bibel zu verstehen, die das erste Buch des Kunsts des Vergessens ist. Aber die Erinnerung, die die einzelne Fakultät nach dem Fall aus dem Paradies geboren war, muss, für Brux, ein Steuerungsinstrument finden, um, was nicht notwendig ist, zu löschen oder auswerfen. Das Werkzeug um die Taten der Vergangenheit zu löschen ist, für die Katholiken, das Sakrament der Beichte; aber für Protestanten? Annäherung an die rosenkreuzerischen Mystik und an der Paracelsus Medizin, Brux debug Abführmittel und alchemistischen Künste des Vergessens als Werkzeuge dieses Ziel zu erreichen: Verstopfung und Melancholie zu bekämpfen, die überschüssigen Ansammlungen zu vertreiben und ein neues Leben zu fördern.     ‘Generation’ is a keyword in Alev Tekinay’s Nur der Hauch vom Paradies (1993). In this novel the author creates a permanent conflict between two generations of Turkish immigrants in Germany. They are represented by the main character, a young successful writer, and by his parents, who were guest-workers. Based on Karl Mannheim’s classical concept of generation, this article analyses images of Turkish migrant generations and their positioning among the German society in the nineties, with their dominant discourses on national homogenity. It also examines whether the novel depicts intergenerational discontinuities, rather than continuities and asks which role the feeling to be a group sharing the same life experience plays in establishing the identity of Turkish migrant children.Die ‘Generation’ ist ein Schlüsselbegriff in Alev Tekinays Roman Nur der Hauch vom Paradies (1993). In diesem Werk inszeniert die Autorin einen Dauerkonflikt zwischen zwei Generationen der türkischen Einwanderer in Deutschland. Sie werden von der Figur eines jungen erfolgreichen Schriftstellers und seinen Eltern, den ehemaligen Gastarbeitern, repräsentiert. Der vorliegende Beitrag geht vom klassischen Generationsbegriff des deutschen Soziologen Karl Mannheim aus und analysiert die im Roman vermittelten Bilder von Generationen der Migranten sowie deren Selbst- und Fremdpositionierung in der deutschen Gesellschaft der 1990er-Jahre mit ihren Diskursen über nationale Einheit. Es wird auch nach intergenerationellen Brüchen und Kontinuitäten in der erzählten Welt sowie nach der identitätsstiftenden Rolle eines Generationsgefühls für die zweite Generation gefragt

    Diagnostic Accuracy of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology of Thyroid in Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah, Malaysia

    INTRODUCTION: Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) is widely used as an initial screening method in the preoperative examination of thyroid lesions. However, diagnostic cytology interpretation remains inconsistent among reporting pathologists worldwide. This study aimed to determine the diagnostic accuracy of FNAC of thyroid lesions at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ), a tertiary hospital in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. MATERIAL AND METHODS: We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional study at the Department of Pathology, HSNZ, from January 2017 to December 2019. Data of patients were collected from the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS). The study included patients with thyroid lesions who underwent both FNAC and subsequent histopathological examination (HPE). RESULT: A total of 389 cases of thyroid lesions underwent FNAC, with 162 cases proceeding to surgical resection. The median age of the patients was 43.3 years, with a male to female ratio of 1:5.3. FNAC diagnoses were categorized as follows: 85 cases (52.5%) were benign, 23 (14.2%) as atypia or follicular lesion of undetermined significance, 9 (5.6%) as follicular neoplasm, 21 (13%) as suspicious for malignancy, and 12 (7.4%) as malignant and unsatisfactory. The diagnostic accuracy of FNAC was 85.8%, with sensitivity of 66.7% and specificity of 96.2%. The positive predictive value was 90.5%, and the negative predictive value was 84.2%. CONCLUSION: FNAC has proven to be an accurate diagnostic method for screening thyroid lesions. However, continuous improvement in sampling and preparation techniques and cytopathologist training is necessary to enhance its reliability further
