    Maynard W. Martin, MD. Interview by Don Macon. Although Dr. Martin\u27s early interest was in Pediatrics, he entered a career in hospital administration. After serving in Cleveland, New York and St. Louis, He came to Houston in 1954 to head the joint administration program of St. Luke\u27s and Texas Children\u27s Hospital. He stayed there until his retirement in 1972. He spoke of the physical plants of the institutions, his methods of working through difficulties and some of the dynamic individuals he worked with such as Mr. Leopold Meyer and Dr. Denton Cooley. Martin's reflections on his career as a law professor, from his earliest connections to Cornell onward. Peter Martin is the Jane M.G. Foster Professor of Law, Emeritus, co-founder of Cornell's Legal Information Institute (LII), and a former dean of Cornell Law School. After his graduation from Harvard Law School in 1964, Professor Martin spent three years in the Air Force General Counsel's Office, and then began his teaching career at the University of Minnesota Law School. He joined the Cornell Law School Faculty in 1972, and served as Dean from 1980 to 1988.1_nek8bk2

    The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Hobart Martin. Martin was drafted into the Army in February of 1943. In early 1944 he completed a college training detachment at Centenary College in Louisiana. From there he was assigned to Company E in the 342nd Infantry Regiment, 86th Infantry Division. They were assigned to La Havre, France in February of 1945 due to the Battle of the Bulge. His regiment was involved in much combat in France until they departed in June of 1945. In September they arrived in the Philippines, where he assisted with clerical work. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant and worked in the headquarters company. Martin was discharged in February of 1946
