Prospek bisnis yang menjadikan tempat bercengkrama dengan konsep convenience store menjadi semakin cerah bagi para pebisnis dewasa ini. Salah satu merek dari convenience store yang sedang marak di Indonesia adalah Lawson‟s Station. Konsep praktis serta tempat yang nyaman disuguhkan untuk segmen pasar para remaja, sesuai dengan tagline yang diusung “One Stop for Your Quality Time”. Lawson‟s Station yang membuka cabangnya di Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Jakarta pada akhir tahun 2011, kemudian mendapat respons yang baik dari seluruh civitas akademika UBM. Hal ini terlihat dari banyaknya pelanggan yang datang berkunjung setiap harinya. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui citra merek Lawson‟s Station Lodan dari enam komponen brand image. \ud
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, dimana pengumpulan data primer diperoleh melalui kuesioner menggunakan data skala interval, kemudian ditunjang data sekunder dari obeservasi, dokumentasi, serta literatur pendukung. Teknik analisis data yang telah diuji validitas dan reabilitas agar intrumen penelitian layak digunakan, kemudian melibatkan mahasiswa program studi ilmu komunikasi UBM sebagai subjek penelitian itu sendiri.\u
REFLEKSI IDENTITAS: DILEMA TIONGHOA DALAM FILM NASIONAL SEBAGAI IMPLIKASI PROPAGANDA PEMERINTAH ORDE BARU (ANALISIS DHA WODAK PADA FILM MEI LAN-1974 DAN PUTERI GIOK-1980)
The mass media is a tool for each nation to introduce the history of its journey from time to time, one of the most effective-recorded trace is the national film. In some national film scene, we can reflect the construction process of identity which are displayed visually as well as non-verbal communication and verbally reworded. In addition, through the struggle of discourse which appear on a movie, it will be also implied political and social repression (Sen, 1994: 46-49) which is being background or even directing storyline of particular film. Two (2) national film which can describe it, among other things: "Mei Lan, Aku Cinta Padamu" resulted by the Director Pitrajaya Burnama since 1974 and "Puteri Giok" which was launched by Maman Firmansjah in 1980. The uniqueness of those films lies in the two screenplay was written by the same person namely: Deddy Armand. Inevitably theme which were raised is the spirit of assimilation of Chinese Indonesian and non-Chinese Indonesian but striking differences lies in the emergence of various attributes as a form of government propaganda as well as the end of the film. Liem Mei Lan was told died in the birthing room due to elope together Aminudin as her lover, while Han Giok Nio successfully sanctioned affair with Herman. Both films were analyzed through discourse historical analysis or known as Discourse Historical Approach (DHA) by Ruth Wodak with a qualitative approach in the critical paradigm. Integrity Identification in Ethnographic by Biopic of Kwee Tjie Hoei
This research will specifically trace the communication made by Kwee Tjie Hoei (A Hoei) or Karmaka Surjaudjaja which is manifest in the national film titled with "Love and Faith" which was released in 2015. This film is packed in the form of a romantic drama genre that tells the Biopic of A Hoei when building the business empire of PT OCBC NISP which at that time was in a crisis. The researcher is based on Communication Theory of Identity which was triggered by Michael Hecth and Aristotle's Rhetoric to probe the message conveyed in the film. The research paradigm is based on constructivism, while the method used in this research is Hymess Ethnographic of Speaking with eight components by the acronym of S-P-E-A-K-I-N-G and this type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The unit of analysis used in the research was scenes in the film, so the researcher was able to identify Kwee Tjie Hoeis integrity which was shown in several stages of identity. The results showed that dominated the implicit message in the form of the integrity of Kwee Tjie Hoei's figure, in line with the principle of rhetoric that rests on the level of public communication
PERJUANGAN MULTIKULTURALISME PERHIMPUNAN INDONESIA TIONGHOA DALAM PERSPEKTIF REKOGNISI AXEL HONNETH
ABSTRACTSocial equality among human beings is the ideal condition that has been initiated by philosophers such as Hegel and Mead, but Axel Honneth offers a different perspective on both implementation levels and a more holistic perspective. One of the thoughts related to the acquisition of Honneth's recognition through his postulate, has illustrated that there is a struggle on the basis of awareness of respect and recognition of cultural identity in the realm of multiculturalism. In the struggle there are several steps that must be passed to obtain mutual recognition of the particular identity, where the working principle starts from the affective level of love, then the cognitive is in the realm of the legal order, until the intellectual intuition is poured in the form of solidarity. These three become forms of reciprocal relationships that lead to the acquisition of recognition in several stages in every phase of society's development. This is in line with the struggle of the Chinese Association of China (INTI) which is always at the forefront of diffusing the implementation of multiculturalism to the wider community. Recognition of the equal rights and obligations of citizens is an essential human role, as well as the ethnic Chinese Indonesian community that has become an integral and fundamental part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Business prospects for a concept of convenience stores are becoming increasingly brighter for business today. One brand of convenience stores emerging in Indonesia is Lawson's Station. The concept of practical and convenient place served to segment the youth market, in accordance with that carried the tagline "Your One Stop for Quality Time". Lawson's Station, which opened branches in the University of Bunda Mulia (UBM) in Jakarta at the end of 2011, then got a good response from the entire academic community UBM. It is evident from the many customers who come to visit every day. Therefore, the researchers wanted to know the consumer behavior is analyzed from three components (tri-component attitude model) include: cognitive, affective, and conative. This study uses quantitative methods, where the collection of primary data obtained through the questionnaire using a nominal scale data, and then supported by secondary data from observation, documentation, and supporting literature. Data analysis techniques that have been tested for validity and reliability of the research instrument deserves to be used, then engage students UBM communication science courses as a subject of study in itself.Keywords : Consumer Behaviour, Three Component Attitude Models, Lawson’s Statio
Analisis Perbedaan Kepuasan Pembaca Tabloid Gratis Surabaya Shopping Media dan Iklan Pos di Surabaya
The underlying motive for someone to read is an attempt to obtain gratification through the media. According to Denis McQuail, there are four typology motives that are used, namely: motive of information (surveillance), motive of personal identity, patterns of integration and social interaction (personal relationship), and entertainment motive (diversion). This study is based on the uses and gratifications theory by analyzing the motives through pre-test questionnaire as an instrument of gratification sought, then post-test questionnaire to determine the real satisfaction (gratification obtained) towards 100 respondents who are included. Quantitative method is used to prove the hypothesis of the study, in which the McNemar test on nominal data for the same population assesses two different objects show the existence of the gap (discrepancy) between the motives with the satisfaction of the reader. This research does not stop until the analysis of the gap between motives and reader satisfaction, but further study to see comparative advertising in the free tabloids "Surabaya Shopping Media" and "Iklan Pos". Two free tabloids can be juxtaposed in a comparison study, due to the same general specifications owned by both. On the other hand, the difference of these two free tabloids are: representing two different company backgrounds in their establishments (company profile), the ideology of the company, product display, advertiser segmentation, tagline and iconic products. The accumulated data at a sub variable level shows that motive variables and satisfaction with free tabloid “Surabaya Shopping Media” and “Iklan Pos” in this study are defined as an interval scale data, then tested using two sample paired difference test for interval scale data using the short method for t test

ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS FILM "PUTERI GIOK": CERMIN ASIMILASI PAKSA ERA ORDE BARU
Mass media is one way for each nation to introduce their history now and then. The national movie "Puteri Giok"—directed by Maman Firmansjah in 1980—told the story of a teenage girl, namely Han Giok Nio and her brother, Han Tek Liong, who dealt with assimilation issue. Conflict arised from the opinion of Mr. Vijay as a business partner of Han Liong Swie, the father of Giok and Tek Liong about her relationships with Herman—a "pribumi", which led to cut Giok's hair bald. In the conflict, Pancasila and the motto 'Unity in Diversity' were understood to prevent racism. Researcher used Leeuwen critical discourse to uncover the pattern of the movie, which muted the minority figures from their identities, even as though fighting for assimilation. The movie shows that there was Pancasila doctrinal as well as assimilation that reflected the subordination of the New Order regime through BP 7 and Bakom PKB. Document Format (PDF), and then uploaded digitally using Appstore apps, and Google Playstore.\ud
Consistently "MALE" presents a female model on a magazine cover with a video which shown in insight\ud
rubic. A woman became a symbol to convey any message sensual and commercialization of the media as a\ud
neans for their audiences. This is consistent with the principles of neoliberalism, as the definition described\ud
as a form of liberalization which is influenced by the progress of global commercial media system and\ud

PENGARUH CITRA MEREK CONVENIENCE STORE TERHADAP REPUTASI DI MATA KONSUMEN SELAKU PELAJAR SMA KRISTOFORUS 2 (Studi Komparasi antara 7-ELEVEN dengan LAWSON’S STATION Cabang Palem, Jakarta Barat)
Along the development era, in which human needs are no longer centered on SANDAG, food, and shelter, but it is rather the actualization needs and communication. In order to meet these needs, is now a place that has a convenience store concept started mushrooming in various parts of the world, especially in Indonesia. Two of the many convenience stores most visited Indonesian teenagers are 7-Eleven and Lawson's Station.This is a disturbing desire to continue the previous studies researchers entitled "Brand Image Research Lawson's Station Branch Lodan on Current Student Perceptions UBM 2013-2014 School Year". Current research is focusing on the comparison between the 7-Eleven brand and Lawson's Station, where both convenience stores open more outlets in the same area, namely in commercial Taman Palem, West Jakarta. In addition, the researchers borrowed glasses respondents same as the research sample, ie from among students of high school students Christopher II. It is taken that the results of this study are objective and can be generalized as the hallmark of a quantitative approach. A total of 82 students who are at least two (2) times a week visit to the convenience store were included as respondents of the total population of 457.This research aims to examine the influence of both the brand image of the store to the reputation in the eyes of high school students Christopher II as consumers, then compare the differences in effect. The results of the study there were differences between the 7-Eleven brand image with palm branches Lawson's Station, West Jakarta, obtained through comparison of regression equations. There is a difference of 0.521 which Lawson's reputation over 7-Eleven outperform reputation in the eyes of high school students Christopher 2.
