Lorenzo Dupuis : Still Scapes
In his essay on the landscape and still life paintings of Dupuis, Zepp refers to the nine large-scale pieces exhibited in Regina and Vancouver as “spiritual abstractions,” and suggests the artist’s exploration of the duality between representation and abstraction contributes to the transcendence of emotion. The author also traces the evolution of Dupuis’ work. Biographical notes. 8 bibl. ref
Actinobolus alvarengai in Dupuis and Dechambre 1998

The species A. suskyi is described from southern French Guiana in Dupuis 2019, with the author establishing that the French Guianese paratype of A. alvarengai actually belongs to A. suskyi. The inclusion of A. alvarengai for French Guiana in the catalogues of Duranton (2011: 25), Ponchel (2011: 61) and Dupuis (2016b: 110) is also incorrect, as these publications use the data from Dupuis and Dechambre (1998). This means that the known distribution of A. alvarengai is reduced to the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil.
Published as part of Hielkema, Auke J. & Hielkema, Meindert A., 2019, An annotated checklist of the Scarabaeoidea (Insecta: Coleoptera) of the Guianas, pp. 1-306 in Insecta Mundi 732 (732) on page 214, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.3678492

This thesis is a psychoanalytical development based on the books L'Âge d'homme and L'Afrique fantôme by the French writer Michel Leiris. The purpose is to show that the Freudian notion of primitive scene is used as a paradigm for self-exploration and analysis through autobiographical writing.
This study begins by detailing the stories of dreams retold by the author in his works. Thus, Leiris is traveling on the royal road that will take him to his unconscious mind. The ego of the narrator adopts a masochist approach to the phallic women he falls in love with. He then shifts to what is called « postcourtoise passion », a concept developed by Paul-Laurent Assoun. The Lady (La Dame) replaces the « lost object » and is transformed into the murderous Judith. The many identifications of the narrator with legendary figures allow us to read his existence through his personal mythology. Upon analysis, these identity fantasies of the author with male models are an indication of the sadism of his superego.
In Gondar, the author falls in love with Emawayish, an Ethiopian sorceress who becomes the perfect double of Lucrèce and Judith. This love relationship unconsciously reveals the structure of the Oedipus complex. L’Âge d’homme can be seen as the quest of a man for the maternal body. The experience of self-exploration and analysis writing can be seen as the means to cure the melancholy generated by the loss of the loved object
Back to a Way Forward: Jacques Dupuis' Trinitarian Christology and the Invisible Missions of the Word and Spirit
Jacques Dupuis' book, Toward a Christian Theology of Religious Pluralism, drew an enormous response from theologians, some of them very concerned by Dupuis' argument in terms of the universal presence and action of the Word and Spirit as “extending beyond” that of the risen incarnate Word, and his insistence that “a divine action of the Word as such remains, which extends beyond the human action of the risen Christ”. The aim of this essay is to examine the distinctly trinitarian elements of Dupuis' argument, in the light of the classical teachings regarding Trinity and Christology, for it is on the basis of his “trinitarian christology” that Dupuis grounds his theology of religious pluralism. The author argues that, while Dupuis' “trinitarian christology” points the way to a more positive appreciation of the salvific efficacy of non-Christian religions, he has confused rather than advanced an understanding of the operation of Word and Spirit in regard to non-Christian religions. The author argues that the classical notion of the divine missions, visible and invisible, a strange omission from Dupuis' argument, would facilitate the case he seeks to make, avoid some of the ambiguities that dog his case, and mute the key concerns which have been raised by reviewers. </jats:p
Sylviane Dupuis: La Seconde Chute. Commented translation completed with a study of francophone Swiss drama production
The presented diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The crucial part consists of a translation of a theatre play La Seconde Chute au Godot, Acte III (1993) written by Swiss French-writing author Sylviane Dupuis. This play continues one of the most important plays of 20th century - Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett - and it wants to provide a new outlook on its topics. The translation is completed by a study about Swiss francophone theatre focused mainly on Sylviane Dupuis and a thorough analysis of the play. The center of interest of the second part of the thesis is La Seconde Chute's strong intertextuality and the problems it brings to the phase of understanding and interpretation, as well as in the translation itself. Key words: interpretation, analysis, theatre, Swiss theatre, Sylviane Dupuis, translation of dramatic text
Importance Sampling for a Markov Modulated Queuing Network with Customer Impatience until the End of Service
For more than two decades, there has been a growing of interest in fast simulation techniques for estimating probabilities of rare events in queuing networks. Importance sampling is a variance reduction method for simulating rare events. The present paper carries out strict deadlines to the paper by Dupuis et al for a two node tandem network with feedback whose arrival and service rates are modulated by an exogenous finite state Markov process. We derive a closed form solution for the probability of missing deadlines. Then we have employed the results to an importance sampling technique to estimate the probability of total population overflow which is a rare event. We have also shown that the probability of this rare event may be affected by various deadline values.Importance Sampling, Queuing Network, Rare Event, Markov Process, Deadline
The education of young people in interreligious dialogue in Catholic schools is a constant concern of Christian educators. The author is interested in it from a perspective of interreligious theology which he situates in the continuation of the Christian theology of religious pluralism, a new name for the theology of religions proposed by J. Dupuis. A theology that aims to be dialogical, because starting from interreligious dialogue and referring to it throughout its development. To find what can be his contribution to the education of young people in interreligious dialogue, the author brings together three theologians who have thought about it, namely: Jacques Dupuis, Claude Geffré and Perry Schmidt-Leukel. Since the dialogic dimension occupies an important place in this theology, it releases its substantial marrow and puts it in relation with the explicit proclamation of Jesus Christ in this educational context. He concludes by showing the fruitfulness of education in interreligious dialogue, enlightened by interreligious theology
Elements of a Christian Theology of Pluralism Religious Traditions in the Latest Writings of Jacques Dupuis
Dupuis is one of the most active and the most renowned catholic participants in the efforts of contemporary theology to recognize the place and role of religions in God's plan of redemtion as well as the actual implications of that fact. But, his recent theological ideas have encountered certain reservations with a part of theological publicity, especially with the church teaching, which indirectly raises objections to insufficiently clear detachment from the theses of pluralistic theology of religions. The aim of this study is to show if, and to which extent, the mainstream elements of Dupuis' theological and religious model abandon the sphere of Christocentric inclusive model.
Therefore, the first part of the study deals with the fundamental views of an inclusive and then also a pluralistic model, defining the scope within which our interpretation of Dupuis' ideas moves. The second part singles out, from the author's rather unsystematic text, his most important ideas, articulating them into several, for Dupuis' theological model charasteristic, thematic groups. Critical observations and opinions, which are in the last part of the study, suggest several basic conclusions: 1. that the subject is about an approach to religions which has revealed, in a unique way, to what extent the issue of theological status of the fact of religious pluralism is crucial for self-perception of Christianity as such; 2. that Dupuis' models needs to be deepened since it, besides sporadic lack of discipline in terminology, indicates a certain incompleteness in some solutions, not always consequently predicting possible implications of some ideas, as it is, for example, the idea about the performance of »unincarnate Logos« among people after resurrection too; or the idea about »reciprocal complementarity« of religions and Christianity, etc.; 3. that, even in his recent publications, the author has neither changed anything or improved his approach to religious pluralism; 4. that Dupuis' theological and intellectual organization of religious pluralism, viewed as a whole, represents in fact a test of the ultimate breaking point of traditional Christocentric inclusivism, which, in spite of all its problematic points, remains, in principle and substantially, within the limits of Christocentrism
