    Existential prime convex Jonsson theories and their models

    No full text
    This article is devoted to the study of the model - theoretic properties of special subclasses of Jonsson theories and their classes of models. Namely, introduce a new class of Jonsson theories is existentially prime convex Jonsson theories. The notion of convexity of theory was previously known, it was introduced by A.Robinson. The notion of existential simplicity introduced by the author of this article. Both conditions form a broad natural classes of theories. Thus two natural restrictions on Jonsson define a new class of theories with rich model - theoretic properties. Besides defined formulation of the problem, which define a new direction in the study Jonsson theories

    The Forecasting Properties of Survey-Based Wage-Growth Expectations

    No full text
    In this paper, we evaluate survey-based wage-growth expectations in Sweden. Results show that the expectations are neither unbiased nor efficient forecasts. Evaluating out-of-sample forecasting performance, we find that the survey participants generally perform worse than a con-stant forecast based on reasonable assumptions regarding the inflation target and productivity growth. Our findings indicate that caution should be exercised when relying on these data for policymaking.Survey data;

    Abstract Arbetets titel Läs- och skrivsvårigheter, en studie om olika metoder och åtgärder som lärare praktiserar vid läs- och skrivinlärning. Arbetets art Examensarbete inom det allmänna utbildningsområdet (AUO) 300 Sidantal 39 Författare Linda Jonsson och Maria Niklasson Handledare Erik Andersson Tidpunkt Höstterminen 2005 Nyckelord Läs- och skrivsvårigheter Bakgrund Som studenter vid lärarprogrammet har vi, Linda och Maria, ett allmänt intresse för det ämnet vi valt. Vi anser också att ämnet är av stor vikt för vårt kommande yrke och ämnet är aktuellt i dagens skoldebatter. Vi har följts åt under nästan hela lärarutbildningen och det var under inriktningen svenska för tidigare åldrar som vi uppmärksammade ämnets betydelse i skolan. Vi vill tydliggöra vad som skiljer dyslexi från andra läs- och skrivsvårigheter och därmed öka vår medvetenhet om ämnet, samt få en inblick i hur lärare arbetar metodiskt för att hjälpa elever med svårigheterna. Vi har valt att inrikta oss mot de yngre åldrarna eftersom det oftast är där man upptäcker problemen. Syfte Syftet med vår undersökning är att ta reda på vilka metoder och åtgärder som praktiseras av lärarna, i de tidiga åldrarna, för att förebygga och reparera läs- och skrivsvårigheter i dagens skola. Vi vill undersöka utformningen av vissa läromedel och hur det kan påverka läs- och skrivinlärningen. Material och metod Uppsatsen har material som bygger på tidigare forskning om ämnet. Vi har gjort en empirisk undersökning betående av kvalitativa intervjuer med lärare som arbetar med elever i de tidigare åldrarna samt en undersökning av läromedlens roll för läs- och skrivinlärningen. Slutsatser Lärare som stöter på elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter bör vara uppmärksamma på bakomliggande orsaker till problemen innan man åtgärdar dem. Det är viktigt att läraren går varsamt framåt och hittar anpassade strategier utifrån varje enskild elevs behov

    Subject Without Nation : Robert Musil and the History of Modern Identity

    No full text
    This innovative study of the works of Robert Musil opens a new window on the history of modern identity in western culture. Stefan Jonsson argues that Musil’s Austria was the first postimperial state in modern Europe. Prior to its destruction in 1918, the Austro-Hungarian Empire had ruled over a vast array of nationalities and, in the course of its demise as well as after, Austria was beset by nationalism, racism, and other forms of identity politics that ultimately led to the triumph of Nazism.It was to this society that Musil responded in his great work The Man Without Qualities. Exploring the nooks and crannies of this modernist classic, Jonsson shows that Musil’s narrative evolves along two axes that must be considered in tandem: Whereas the central plot portrays a Viennese elite that in 1913 attempts to restore social cohesion by gathering popular support for the cultural essence of the empire, the protagonist discovers that he lacks essence altogether and finds himself attracted by monsters, criminals, and revolutionary figures that reject the social order. In this way, Musil’s novel traces the disappearance of what Jonsson calls the expressivist paradigm—the conviction that identities such as gender, nationality, class, and social character are expressions of permanent intrinsic dispositions. This, Jonsson argues, is Musil’s great legacy. For not only did the Austrian author seek to liquidate prevailing conceptions of personal and cultural identity; he also projected “a new human being,” one who would resist assimilation into imperialist, nationalist, or fascist communities.Subject Without Nation presents a new interpretation of Viennese modernity and uncovers the historical foundations of poststructural and postcolonial reconceptualizations of human subjectivity. Illuminating links between Musil’s oeuvre as a whole and post-war developments in critical thought, this book locates an important crossroads between literary criticism, intellectual history, and cultural theory.</p

    Comunicació presentada a la 17th International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (AAMAS 2018), celebrada a Stockholm del 10 al 15 de juliol de 2018.In this paper we present the CARPooL demonstrator, an implementation of a Collective Adaptation Engine (CAE) that addresses the challenge of collective adaptation in the smart mobility domain. CARPooL resolves adaptation issues via concurrent planning techniques. It also allows to interact with the provided solutions by adding new issues or analyzing the actions done by each agent.This work has been partially supported by the Maria de Maeztu Units of Excellence Programme (MDM-2015-0502)
